i've done a trip down to KL (from PG) during raya, the FC was decent with 8.0L/100km in mixed driving (highway + traffic) with six pax and loaded with goods.
*
I was towards Alor Setar on last Saturday morning (3am) and reaching there only 3pm !! it is jam pack and re-route using old trunk road (Slim River > Ipoh > Gerik > Baling > Gurun > Alor Setar).

I was stuck before Behrang, trying to go out to Behrang but jam at toll, so carried on till next exit (slim river)... that 15km lasted me 1.30 hours !!! I should have exited Behrang.

Through the trunk road, I managed to clock 8.1L/100km. (3 person with 3 medium baggage only)
OTW back, via hiway, it clocked 7.8L/100km. (around 110kph)

Ok la.. will try to see best ways to improve FC.

The otai in myalza had extensive discussion on this previous.
P2 OEM front brek pad for Alza is Lucas brand.

Btw, Alza front brek pad similar to Waja front pad.
*
Ya.. have been trying many different brands since first ori pads.

The 2nd one is APM. Cost me RM120 and last less than 20,000km.
Then 3rd one is proton's.. cost me about rm60-70, last less then 20,000km too.
Now on Paraut brand from Jpn, cost me RM70.. still testing.

12 hours travel!!! on your FC, i think you a light footer bro. smile.gif

i wonder whether Bosch offers front pads for alza? I have it on my myvi, it looks good. RM120 per pair. I didn't slam it hard to see how much "hard braking" it last before the brake fades though. I don't dare to push the pads to the limit as myvi disk rotor is thin (easier to heat up) & prone to warp. I have a warped rotor last time and the steering jerks under braking when i going down hill.

I remember a few hard braking (say like 4-5 times; throttle, brake, throttle again, brake again) going downhill from gohtong jaya roundabout to karak highway on mintye pads (was driving Saga BLM manual) will have a brake fade (yet burn), let it cool down (by driving slowly) and the brake power comes back.

yea, that's right, incl labor. no bake bleeding, just some bleed out the fluid when they push back the caliper piston back to original position. good thing about the bosch pads doesn't as dusty as ori pads, and it bites.

i think those ori pads are meant for gentle driving, can't afford to push hard....

nope.

bosch brake pad does not bites.

laugh.gif sweat.gif

even road hard braking also less power.

now using brembo brake pad, haven test downhill power.

but best brake pad with gooding price ratio will be Trestor Advantage Plus ( Blue Pad )

You can expect IMMEDIATE stopping power.

I not sure bout the new facelifted Alza leh.
Had tried these Waja brek pads on my old model Alza.

1. Cap X brand, RM80. Cannot tahan, very noisy. Use 1000km only.
2. Proride, RM57 only. Also for Waja. Part no.1402

hmmm.... that's interesting on your viva. smile.gif at least mine feels better than the stock pads. My girl is driving Myvi SE auto (with stock pads), some time i need to step hard to get the brake bite, done bleeding but the symptom comes back intermittent. Hmmm... give it a braided brake hose should solve the problem.... hehe... icon_idea.gif

sorry, never been to sabah before, i assume most the road is "off road" condition ???

means very less tar road, most is sand road or kampong road ???

enlighten me pls

1st go check out alza at p2.

2nd submit doc for bank loan approval.

3rd sign doc, and wait for car registration. ( can go tender number plate if you like eg. ST7777T ) tongue.gif

4th, inspection your car, and sign DO, you're good to go.

if you want all the accesories eg. roof monitor, gps + touch screen player those, you might go for full spec.

otherwise, i think SE is more than enough.

even my alza is kosong spec also feel satisfied already. tongue.gif

I'm driving the se version. The advanced version have the entertainment multimedia with gps and parking camera, leather seat and electronic retractable side mirror. Other than that all are the same with se version.

I got my advanced version May 1st and already had 2nd service (10,000km)! So far I am quite happy with the performance and fc. Town driving around 8.5 and travel to Johor from Kl about 7.0.

For me the multimedia, gps and rear camera are worth the extra. At last they have updated the bluetooth software so the hands free downloads my contacts and works fine rclxms.gif

All in all, a good vehicle for the price, and enjoyable to drive.

Hi PPZ, the accessories, just depends on what you really need.

Alza = RM55k
SE = RM59k
Adv = RM67+k

between SE and Adv, there is almost 7000++ which is a lot of saving. Again, yr choice.

my Alza (4 years now) FC is about 8.9L-9.1L/100km.. that is normal drive now as hardly use during peak hours. I ride to work daily which saves me a lot too.

You are right, sometimes saw some expensive cars in IKEA having problem loading their things.

With 2nd and 3rd rows folding down flat, you can put in lots of stuffs.

Guys,

I got my Alza yesterday!

Want to ask you guys, any steering lock to recommend? (i don't like Kiki baseball bat though smile.gif )

And i normally will fold down the last row of seats, and sometime i need to carry an ice box, but ice box will wet the seat that folded down. So do you guys know any think of accessories that i can put at the back so that i could put ice box on it without dirty or wet the folded seat?
