hi guys, i am surveying as well. was looking for vkool but a bit out of budget. reading through all the posts, it seem like a lot of people recommending Huper optic FWS SECH 60 and other windows either normal C50 / C50 Shield 4 Mil.

1. I cant find SECH 60 in the official website http://www.huperoptik.com/en/smart/index.aspx

2. C50 can be found in link above. It is different with C50 Shield 4 Mil right?

3. From link above still, I believe  C50 Shield 4 Mil = Hüper Ceramic 50 Shield - 4 Mil (code C50S-4). am i right?

Anyone can shed some light on above? thanks in advance.

Yes, your point no.3 is correct.

After reading whole day. I would like to share my thought with those who are inexperience as me, and looking for good tint + security + JPJ less kacau + reasonable. Don't shoot me too harsh. just my thought ok.

1. Don't go for ayam brand. You will regret.
* Brand that unable to tell you the name of the USA manufacturer and it is not stated in their website.
* No Recognition from their manufacturer.

2. Most recommended: Huper Optik (HO), VKOOL & 3m
- You may include Raytech and Llumar as it is International Brand too.

3. Security film, for eg: 4 mil, just merely thicker. In general: It takes ~ 8 seconds to break your window with 4 mil tint, while normal tint takes ~ 4. seconds.(subject to skill and tool)
* The more accurate explanation is 4mil can support up to 120lbs strength impact.
* A good safety film should stand at least 30 second to buy enough time for escaping.
* In this issue, USA product is very important. Product from Korea is very poor on its safety although it is thick.
* Raytech safety film is certified by ANSI (America National Standard Institute) and we provide live demo in many place.

5. Some security film might not have good TSER compare to normal film. So you have to judge you want better heat rejection or want a few more seconds before someone break your car windows.
* This statement in not true now.
* Product like Raytech Centurion 6mil, Centurion 4mil, 3M Nano 70 & Nano 40 (3mil), V-kool Secure (8mil), Llumar Palladium(9mil) come with high TSER. Some product is available since last year.

6. My own experience: Regardless of seller and brand, your friends will get quoted price cheaper than you for rm300~500 for the same spec, or vice versa. That's kinda sad. That's why you only allow to PM for price (so called professional). No choice la. cari makan. i understand. but still a bit sad, cause different too much d. rm100-200 still can accept. but 200~500 is too much. Nobody like to be water fish. So for new guys, always ask your friends for price comparison!
* Promotion from time to time is different in all company.

7. Afterall, the most recommended tint spec I found is:
* This is very subjective on personal recommended tint. Sometimes, you need to see the budget and the true quality of the film itself.
* I provide 3 important tips to choose the good film.
i) Choose Brand that selling genuine USA product.
ii) Choose Original product for its brand. (Normally come with brand's packaging and logo on the film itself)
iii) Finally, test the tint with spotlight or Solar Meter device.

8. I research the spec above from official website. new inexperience should do so for your prefer tint.
* Original Product name will appear on it's website. Prevent yourself from buying "non-original" product or "House-brand' product.
* Some USA brand authorized dealers selling 90% of "House Brand" product.

9. Beware of double layer tint, or tint over 6 mil tick, it will spoil your power window. (too heavy i guess?)
* Thicker film will disrupt the power window in 1-2 years time.
* Double layer normally not compliant with JPJ.

10. In the end, balance between the price and the spec is what will you should consider to make your decision.
* Window Film warranty period is very long and Malaysia weather is very humid and hot.
* If you got budget RM1-2K. Just get the best tint in your car and enjoy the best protection.

Hi Guys,

I just tint my honda city 2 week ago with v-kool elite from tint shop. During night time, my back windscreen reflects light very badly and it makes it very difficult to see. Is this normal?

This is my 2nd time tint with tint shop with v-kool elite. Previously my MyVi have no problem at all. Is this a tinting method goes awry or the tinting paper have problem?

Should I go back the shop or go to V-Kool center to rectify?

Hi bro, myvi or normal MPV will not have this problem as the rear windscreen is quite vertical, but compare to slope rear windscreen for saloon car, this phenomena is very normal. I see it in many cars too.

But its very difficult to see especially dark area with many cars. The light refraction is even worse than before I tint.

There is no way to solve this other than to remove the tint?

Hi,

I notice that Llumar is not really favoured by the forummers here.
May I know what is possibly the reason? blush.gif

So my wife just got a new Vios, and I want to install security tint film for it.
Been asking around and these caught my attention. My budget is roughly 1.5k.

Llumar T4-50 for side windows
ATR 50 for FWS and RWS.
RM1799

Huper Optik 4 mil for side windows
Solar Gard for FWS and RWS.
(Can't remember the models for this offer.)
RM1400

So, any comment?
Thanks.

Normally it happen on the sedan car model.
You will not find this problem on hatchback car model.

The reason is the windscreen for sedan car (45 degree) is more curve than the hatchback car (90 degree)

It is dangerous to drive with this kind of reflection. No tinting should give this kind of vision / refraction quality.

You should ask for a replacement or bring the matter to the Consumer Tribunal. Exercise your rights as a consumer.

If my Hyundai Sonata YF is already slightly tinted, by applying new tint of VLT-70% for FWS and VLT 50% for the rest would I still be safe from Operation like this:

Dangerous enough. I've driven my friend's who got this issue and it was painful to the eye (front windshield lah).. Recommend to change asap..

Btw, i was thinking to get a good ones too - Raytech [after a quite a number of review] but deciding to go for an ayam ones first (coz i feel raped inside a tintless car) and Malaysia weather - you guys know lah.. very hot that you can break an egg onto the windscreen and it can just turned into fried eggs.. So far i have no issue like you (the spreading light) and also Smart Tag issue..

My previous free tint for my previous car was from Auto Tint, and up till today (after 6 years) the tint is still OK, no bubbles no nothing. Though the heat rejection is not as good as the expensive ones, but i think it is OK..

I did a RM350 tint - +- 60% heat rejection, 50% dark.. The whole car, mind you, but not the windscreen (lighter than the rest).. But since all other windows are 50% black, it is much acceptable for me. 5 years warranty, long enough for me who is planning to use it for a bout a year or so, before going for premium ones..

Why not Security Tint? Well, security tint will only slowing the thief to break into your car je.. cross fingers.. just don't lure them to your car then.. put valuables unseen in the first sight.. i can still see people showing off their RM120 Smart Tags which will later cost you RM200 mirrors.. + RM100 re-tint.. My other friends 'showing off his coins' at the dashboard which again, cost him lots more $$ just to replace the damage..

Anyway, my advice would be: go for any tint that are in your budget now.. if it is RM160 for the whole car, if it can stay stick for a year, its a bargain.. If you have budget for more expensive tint, by all means just do it.. those very expensive ones didn't guarantee you that they can block the heat 100% though, your car can still feel the hotness if you park under the hot sun (i bet you) and a tint can actually helped your car to prevent harsh sunny hot temp break into your windscreen freely then.. they'll block them, but the heat can always break in..

Perhaps, only myself feeling the nakedness while driving tintless car, thats why i chose for 50% tint.. at least i can feel 50% more not naked then before.. no point going for 100% as you will be loved by the Police, JPJ & Puspakom then.. Happy tinting!

P/S: during my installation, there was this BMW6 series tinting in the shop. OK, relief a little while as it can assure me that their tints are not that ayams.. haha (but the BM went for 100% dark lah) whistling.gif

You can go for CS60 with medium price, I'm using that right now smile.gif You can contact DaBestOne, honest and friendly guy. thumbup.gif

At first, found his contact in lowyat garage and wanted to tint the cheapest one which cost RM200. But I choose the CS60 which I can say their middle range, they selling low range, middle range and high range with 5-7 years warranty. So you can choose depends on your budget.

Completed the tint on my car, then the next day I found a bubble on driver window (Not to blame them but you know la, we are not perfect hehe). I informed it to DaBestOne and he asked me to go the Raytech shop, they replaced me with a new tint. Overall I'm satisfied with their services, recommended seller and I'm cool with Raytech brand hehe I found their logo also looks cool

I've done mine as well for today. Though i did not use the voucher as i needed to pay an extra of rm6xx for the solar security film. Chosen the cheaper option of just the solar control which provide 60% of block front screen and 50% for the sides.

voucher oni applies to solar security tint and not on solar control tint. if i take the solar security tint, i would need to pay an additional rm6xx as the ori price is rm1k for the cheapest 4mil. so i decide to take a 2mil since its still within my budget. so, yea, a waste of rm300 voucher but i pay less. which i am ok with it.

Get my car tint done with Raytech. I choose Raytech due to the many good feedbacks here, USA product, and I'm not regret about it!

I use Centurion 6mil and Ultra 70 on my front windshield. Noticed the big difference and cool as I've been driving my car for 1 week without tinted like oven that time.

Thanks Lordgitsy for good service and super responsive on all my questions.

Highly recommended to everyone!

I'd ignore the so called discount vouchers from SA and go directly to the shop.. they get commission you know; and that means you will get lesser discount when you bargain.

Oh and a shout out for Raytech, had 3 of my cars done by their cheras outlet. thumbup.gif
One car recently went for engine transplant and as expected the FWS tint was removed during PUSPAKOM inspection. (it was the pro series rich gold, this one is not available anymore)
So went back to raytech and retint the FWS. biggrin.gif
