QUOTE(cklee75 @ Apr 29 2017, 07:48 PM) Anyone heard about Autogarde? It claims to be Honda tint panel in one PJ branch. RM1200 (after discount RM500) for SUV, 7 years warranty. It also sell 3M film, RM1820 (after 30% discount) but only 5 years warranty. Which one I should choose? 3M HP film TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejected) & Infrared Rejected spec look like too low for windscreen. you may view spec at : http://solutions.3m.com.my/wps/portal/3M/e...cts/Comparison/http://solutions.3m.com.my/wps/portal/3M/e...me/Contact/WTB/This post has been edited by haverkamp: May 2 2017, 03:11 PM

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ May 6 2017, 09:23 PM) Inb4 some complaint that 3M tint is easy to scratch Curious to know in what circumstances you would scratch your tint using abrasive material? I thought 3m crystalline is one of the best in rejecting heat in the market. So many tints in the market now. So confusing.

Similarly 70% VLT means light goes thru windows at 70% and 30% is blocked...hence more light, its brighter got it? 30% VLT means, only 30% light goes thru...70% of the light is blocked, hence the tint is darker. WHen you go to shop, most of them talk about light goes thru and not VLT...so they will ask, whats the tinting percentage ..so when you say 70%...means its 30%VLT...70% is the darkness

So 30/50 is darker than 70/80. You can refer below image :

Which film / grade ? thank you thank you.😛 There are too many brands out there and I only have experience with V-kool and Huper Optik. If you want the best heat rejection, V-Kool is the best, but the price is also the best. My old car used to be on V-kool Elite and the performance of the tint was good to excellent. The heat can barely be felt. After I changed to a new car, I chose Huper Optik (currently on my Ford Focus) and the performance cannot match the V-kool although the VLT for all windscreens are lower than the V-kool. In order to match the V-kool, you have to go with a darker shade, but then it would be below JPJ's guidelines. If you want cheap but good, you have to go with darker shade with lower VLT to match V-kool's performance that will be riskier with regards to JPJ/police regulations.

Just to ask if tinted becomes discolor or faded, can it fall under warranty?
On cheap brand tint, perhaps it used die type tint

I may add on few points 1. V-Kool is metal based film vs Huper is ceramic based film. Therefore you can feel different in terms of the film performance. This because ceramic based film usually have higher absorption rate which lead to the heat build up in the film itself instead of rejecting it. 2. The price of Huper normally cheaper by 10-20% compare to V-Kool film.
