Hi, I'm looking for solar film for Serena Hybrid. Any recommendations?
Budget below 2k. Priority is on keeping car cool, smart tag/gps friendly and jpj compliance. |

QUOTE(stevie_G @ Mar 10 2017, 10:07 AM) The main reason to block SmartTag infrared signal is Tint Film Infrared Rejection (IRR)All HAVERKAMP IRR is above 90%. It's block 90% of SmartTag Infrared signal, but When driver slowly is no problem for SmartTag. * High IRR & TSER = High Heat Rejection * Easily pass thru smart tag = IRR below 90% |

Oic , just another question.
3M Crystaline 70 is well known smart-tag unfriendly. It's IRR rejection is 97%. Haverkamp 40 IRR rejection is 96% . So does it mean HaverK 40 film is not smart tag friendly? |

QUOTE(stevie_G @ Mar 10 2017, 01:01 PM) Oic , just another question. Depend on car windscreen build in IRR. If windscreen build in irr is 10% + film 96% is become 100% irr . 3M Crystaline 70 is well known smart-tag unfriendly. It's IRR rejection is 97%. Haverkamp 40 IRR rejection is 96% . So does it mean HaverK 40 film is not smart tag friendly? feedback from some customer like subaru forester, bmw 5 series, 3 series was no smart tag issue. But some model like Peugeot 208 having issue. for this, we having others solution like place smart tag near to rear mirror (dot area) , or cut a small whole. |

For my ex car with VKool, using Smart Tag was a touch-and-go situation (no pun intended). I always had to drive very slowly, put the Smart Tag close to windscreen (I noticed the higher the Smart Tag on the windscreen, close to the rearview mirror, the easier it got detected). And I had to start placing the Smart Tag a few car lengths from the gantry or it would not detect.
Despite this, there were times the barrier would not lift and I had to wait for assistance, or reverse back and move forward again if there was no car behind me. The easiest way to overcome this was to wind down my window and dangle the smart tag above the car roof - yeah, not glamourous. FYI, I have friends in Singapore who have to cut a "hole" at the location where they mount their In-vehicle Unit (something like smart tag used to pay for road charge and parking). |

Hi guys,
I just got my car tinted with 3M crystalline 70. At first it looks great. No bubble and clear. But now after a week plus, the tint seems foggy and there is this "halo" effect on car headlights, street light and etc. May I know whats the problem? |

Hi, need advise here
V-kool elite 70 for front V-kool rem safety 5mil for sides V-kool REM40 for rear windscreen The tint-shop quoted me 2.2k for my BMW 3 series, is this price reasonable? I checked for 3M as well, the shop quoted me 2.5k, spec as below: 3M crystalline 70 for front Scotchshield for rear (Rear forgotten which spec) Is the price too high compare to V-kool? QUOTE(Wind82 @ Mar 13 2017, 09:09 AM) Hi guys, It is odd that it happens so fast.I just got my car tinted with 3M crystalline 70. At first it looks great. No bubble and clear. But now after a week plus, the tint seems foggy and there is this "halo" effect on car headlights, street light and etc. May I know whats the problem? I have 2 cars with CR70, a 2 year old City and 2.5 year old Jazz. The City has had its CR70 replaced just one year after using, while my Jazz after 2.5 years, is having same problem now and going to claim tomorrow. In fact, the City, now with it's 1 year old tint, is showing sign already. Come to think of it, both my cars, and your car, is showing this sign at around same time. Are you driving in KL? First time using 3M tint. Didn't know it will have so many problems. Last time used ECO-tint, no problem at all. |
