If you repair it at a Samsung Service Center, your warranty will continue. If you repair it elsewhere it will be void.

Either way you still pay around RM600++

My girlfriend's Galaxy Note II which is on 4.1.1 experienced Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) on 9/12.
Sent it to Pandan Indah SC on 10/12 evening for checking.
They called me on 11/12 afternoon saying that it was faulty motherboard & quoted RM550 for motherboard replacement. The new motherboard is entitled for 1 month warranty.
Collected back the unit on 11/12 evening.

Pretty fast and efficient service I would say. thumbup.gif

4.1.1 was the version that had higher risk of SDS. They fixed it in the 4.1.2 ROMs. At least they had ready stock. 550 seems cheaper than before though tongue.gif

just curious... SDS is not entitled to warranty claim? or was the note 2 already no longer under warranty?

How come your girlfriend want to stay on 4.1.1? If I'm on 4.1.2 also beh tahan liao.
Should have updated 4.1.2 to reduce the risk to encounter SDS

if you're impatient, just flash DN3 or Phoenix rom. It came with the latest samsung official firmware, removed bloatware and additional note 3 functions.

For myself, i'm already with 4.4.2 omnirom.

I'm experiencing some weird issue. My phone capacitative button and home buttons sometimes stopped working randomly. Happened 3 times already, it detects my input for capacitative button since there is haptic feedback every time I touch it. It's just that my phone doesn't give a f**k whenever I press it. Power and volume button are fine though. Everything went back to normal if I restart my phone.

Can anyone point me if this is a hardware or software problem? I'm on DN3 btw. Will try and do clean reflash this weekend

Even if you ask anyone here we can't give you an exact date. Better ask bomoh or ask samsung themselves.

You got 3 options.
1. Flash firmware from other countries that received their update.
2. Flash custom rom.
3. Call samsung and force them to roll the update immediately.
