If you want fast and stable 4.3 you can always forgo the N3 features altogether and try Wanam's roms or something else w/o the additional N3 stuff.

4.3 + standard N2 features makes for a speedy, bug free experience, or at least it has been like that for me.

@andrekua2: That's the weird part... It isn't fugly on my MI6.

It's ridiculously fugly on the N3 keyboard though.

Might get a note2 soon.. am I joining a sinking ship? lol

The N2 is not quite a "major" dev device, due to our relatively closed Exynos architecture vs more open architectures like Qualcomm on the S4 Play Edition or the Nexus devices, but it's not really a sinking ship either. The Dev community is still quite active and the device itself still has respectable specs so it's still a great buy, especially at today's prices.

Besides, if you want that awesome SPen experience on a phone, there's not much else to choose from anyway right?

Finally, we don't get Knox out of the box so that's another plus if you plan to hack your device to death.

I personally prefer my dashclock setup, but that looks nice too.

Which reminds me, the stock Sammy lockscreen clock doesn't turn off the statusbar clock off automatically. I always found that a bit... weird.

About current QI mats, most of them charge slow. I mean REAL SLOW. So, is the convenience of wireless charging is worth the 3x increase in charge time compared to a wired charger?

I'm really not sure if wireless can do 2A charging. For one I haven't seen any of the more "branded" mats doing it, so that's that.

For the whole Note 3 stuff in N2 infringing trade rights (or sumthin), OF BLOODY COURSELAH. Unless Sammy intentionally updates our N2s with N3 features, we're pretty much stealing N3 features. It gets complicated when you consider that Android stuff is pretty much FOSS in one way or another, but a lot of the code base is pure Sammy. So yeah, we're pretty much jack sparrowing their stuff.

But at least it's a Sammy to Sammy transplant - porting over the LG Camera or Sony Launcher or Whoever's Whatever is even worse (as per what ant00 said). But it's free stuff to begin with, right? So it's like, not entirely piracy. Or sumthin.

That said, it ain't wrong until someone says it's wrong, so why bother cracking your head about it? It's not like you're aiming to intentionally side load paid APKs (which comes with a free holiday trip package to Tora Bora courtesy of the Staff lol).

Anyway, I found a GREAT case for the N2 over the weekend: A case that's a clone for a case that was never actually made, the N2 Neo Hybrid. Which is a crying same really, the N2 could use a proper Neo Hybrid. I got the clone for peanuts and it's actually made quite well so no complaints here.

Wait, did SGP officially sell the N2 Neo Hybrid to begin with? I know they made the Slim Armor but that's about it (even that one I could only find the Korean version with dat bloody antenna hole). The ONLY NHs I've seen for the N2 are clones and so I assumed that they never made an "Ori" one for the N2.

I know for sure that SGP had an Ori S3 NH - I even got one from the initial release batch for that (with the infamous button problems and all). Compared to that one, the N2 clone NH (which shares the same design) is at least 90% as good, and even comes with fully working buttons.

I am releasing both SLIM ARMOR (CLONE) and NEO HYBRID (CLONE) because I found my favourite and sexiest casing for my N2....I bought Genuine Body Glove Phantom from US for my titanium grey N2.....Sexiest ever! Love it too much!

Oh mai. The legendary Body Glove case aka this one?

@Anonymous34: Note 2 cannot multitask? Or do you mean with certain ROMs?

It was neither.. It was the normal sized ones, went to a shop and they cut it for me. And yeah I tried the settings, still nothing.  cry.gif

You prolly need a proper, non-cut micro sim. Not that a cut micro wouldn't work, but maybe the N2 is simply more sensitive to cut micros.

guys, is there any lock screen music app/tweaks like in the kitkat features for 4.3?

i kinda fall in love with that full album art, but haven't found any app/tweaks close to that.

Closest I got is Poweramp's lockscreen controls with some Xposed module tweaks.

Finally got around to doing this:

Not SILKY smooth but still quite playable. Unfortunately, without a gameclip it's a beach to control. But hell, I've got DOOM 3 in my pocket yo!

Next up, Ubuntu. There's GTA San Andreas coming soon too.

Ubuntu is pretty straightforward. I'd like to do Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 though.

BG is pretty easy. Install GemRB, copy data files to the correct directories (actually the hardest step lol), enjoice. Had fun with it on the S3 but it pretty much NEEDS the S-Pen for proper enjoyment so I gave up.

I still have the BG complete collection somewhere on my HDDs, if I can find it I'll try it out again.

Actually PRAYING hard that somebody would port Fallout 1-Tactics. That would be a TOTAL time waster.

BTW, Doom 3 on the N3 should be silky smooth on high everything (or something) considering the extra 1GB RAM and Snap800.

Just google "GemRB for android". It should come with instructions, applicable for any android device.

Anyways, I got bored so I went out and got a new BT keyboard:

user posted image

The Rapoo E6500, quite possibly the smallest, thinnest BT keyboard that is ACTUALLY usable for touch-typing (at least for me). While it's a tad cramped, the typing feedback is miles better than the mushy Apple Wireless for sure (and of course better than all those mushy rubbery cheapo bt keyboards).

Plus it comes with android shortcuts for nearly everything. Plus it works perfect with my MI6 4.3 Samsung Keyboard, which automagically hides when a BT keyboard is connected. For something below RM100, I'm completely happy.

Minuses? Well for one, it looks like a re-purposed laptop keyboard so if you're rough with it, keys WILL drop off. It also doesn't come with any cover, so you need to get a pouch for it for sure. Finally, I'd rather it use AAA batteries rather than the built in Li-Ion it has, but than it would be thicker of course.

Teehee.....I have one too. It's almost the same size as my 8.9" gigabyte m912 netbook.

Now with the allshare working on dn3, yeah portable desktop replacement. ....and BG2 as well.

They should come up with one with a touchpad on the side like it's bigger brothers. Than it will be a one stop HID device for working road warriors.

I got my trusty Razer Orochi, but nothing beats those tiny cheapo touchpad included BT "keyboards" (the ones with the mushy rubber buttons) for controlling a HTPC - they're so damn handy.

A shame they're selling those at at the same price as my Rapoo at All-It. I know for sure the "touchpad keyboards" are like worth only half of that really, being all cheapo plastic.

Maybe I should buy one from Brando later to control my HTPC (aka my overworked lappy).

Tested the Rapoo. I really wonder how long do you need to get used to it.

If you came across decent bluetooth keyboard with touchpad, let me know too. Interested to get one for my Acer W4.
*
Having used the tiny Vaio W keyboard for long extended periods, I actually got used to the Rapoo Mini very quickly. Due to the (much) better feedback and typing feel, I can type faster on it compared to the Apple Wireless.

For now, it's the smallest keyboard I know I can be fairly productive on, just a bonus that it's considerably cheaper than the nearest alternatives: The rare Thinkoutside foldable and the yet to be shipped Jorno .

As for a padded keyboard, I haven't seen any that looks useful enough for actual work, right now the BT KB + Mouse combo is still the best way to go. They have a slightly larger Rapoo BT on sale too, but for best compatibility with the W4, best way to go IMHO is the Microsoft Wedge Mobile KB + the tiny Wedge mouse.

All that said, how's the W4? I'm pretty interested in it, just wondering how the battery life is.

Damn that's worth it for the price.

That said I'm all out of expendable income at the mo so it's a no go for me.

List of best RPGs from AndroidCentral

For the record, GOF2 and Swordbrothers are most definitely NOT RPGs. But they did mention Shadowrun (IMHO the best "native" TRPG on Android) so it's fine lol.

And the Bard's Tale is hilarious.

They did miss a few good ones like all the FF ports, Adventure Bar Story and Star Traders though. And of course the SDL converted greats like GemRB and JA2. Still waiting for XCOM to float over from the App Store though.

GOF2 is superb eye candy though tongue.gif

Yeah they should put in Start Traders. I don't think GemRB ports would qualify since they're emulated.

XCom via DosBox should be usable, though I haven't tried.

Not the old Xcom, the remake one, which was released for ipad some time back.

That and Knights of The Old Republic. Android port please, for the love of God!

Transform Your Android Device into a Powerful Linux Machine with ZShaolin
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/tran...-with-zshaolin/
A bloody full shell... God. I'll at least need a full HW keyboard to make any use of all that power, and even then I'll probably only use it like 10% of the time anyway. Reminds me of the old days with my N900 and it's terminal, back than I had to use emacs (which I had to compile on my own, on device) to even have Japanese input.

But now, much like everyone else I'm pretty much spoiled by GUI, especially on a device I use 90% of the time, and especially when nearly everything I need to do is already well served with android native apps.

I'll prolly do a Backtrack or Kali chroot later for the heavy stuff - at least I can use it for network auditing as well if need be.

I didn't notice that they've got a new Philz out, so I tried that out. Good news is, no more root error. Bad news is, AromaFM isn't working.

So, without a working recovery file manager I had to go back to TWRP. Plus the more flexible GUI in TWRP has been spoiling me somewhat lately anyway.
