Most probably they are preparing papers to get approval to hire you.

This is probably the best reply and actually made my day. But I didnt put any hopes, as i used to think a lot about it first few months. Nevertheless just hoping for the best to come. Finger crossed 🤞

For those who done CBI and waiting for results, my advice is keep calling the focal HR.

Sometimes their system isnt working fine. After i called HR, then the email telling I passed the CBI came in.

Every steps / process I will ask the HR, "when should i follow up to you?" biggrin.gif

U will not feel guilty when u know the timeline instead of waiting or put your hopes high.

Hope this helps!

Mine didnt work like that. For 3 months after my CBI passed, I have been following up by email every biweekly, after that call their office number and then whatsapp also no reply. Got blue tick every time. Maybe different pic different style. Until after i have decided to move on, someone from talent team called asking for the notice period and expected salary.

Question.

Is Contract Direct Hire (CDH) is good?

And they said if the Manager like your work they can apply for permanent after 6 months, should i believe this? or is it janji janji manis only?

Any PET staff can help to answer. Appreciate it so much.

It is good for you to build your portfolio for the next 2-years.

In term of benefits, almost the same as permanent staff except the EPF contribution from company the % is lower than for the permanent staff, there’s no dental & spectacles benefit, there’s no increment throughout your CDH period but there’ll be adjustment once converted to permanent, btw your medical cover your spouse and children, and you will have 20 days annual leaves per service contract, bonus/other monetary benefit base on company discretion so don’t expect much on that.

For conversion of CDH to permanent staff there are such scenario, some being converted at the early stage of their contractual term, some towards the end and some they’ll need to re-CDH and being assigned to other business unit. Discontinue CDH, I don’t think I have heard that before. It’s merely the same as government servant concept, you’ll be on contract basis before being permanent and entitled for pension scheme etc.

At early stage once you are onboard you are going to hear some of the same batch as yours are being hired as permanent staff, I am not sure why so or how they define the vacancy that differentiate between permanent box / CDH box.

Generally, I would say - anxiety on the very first few months if you are coming from a permanent position in your current company 😅. But along the way, the team are not prejudice towards you at all, embrace your new journey.

Hi thank you for the reply 😭
Meaning cdh is normal thing there? And being converted to permanent is no big deal??

Im worried because im a potato, get this iv by luck and passed it also by luck. Im afraid there is no more luck for me to use on the absorption to permanent ☹️

What do you mean by discontinue cdh?

And do u mind. What is the difference in terms of other benefits between permanent staff and cdh?

Discontinue CDH = Jobless after your contract expired. I’m not sure and not yet heard about that. Perhaps other forum member could share on that.

Benefit, I’ve mentioned above, all are almost the same only few things there.

each business OPU has a fixed quota on permanent position, not that easy to just convert CDH to permanent unless there's an existing/incoming vacancy for that particular position (permanent).

if the manager wants to monitor his subordinate's performance first, he could just utilize the probation period instead of hiring as CDH?

anyway, just ask if there's a vacancy for permanent position/box, then you'll know what to expect. i.e. just janji manis or you're seeding to fill up the permanent box later on.

Thank you. I will ask the HR about the permanent box.

Btw, this one is for Petronas Carigali. And i also been contacted by HR from Petronas Lubricants International. But this one not sure permanent or contract yet because i really focus my energy on carigali suddenly they said carigali was CDH.

Which one is better? Carigali or PLI?

If someone got offered CDH but somehow felt uncertainty about the non permanent position and pull out of that offer last minute, will they blacklist this person for future applications consideration?

Once you are in the system, will be easier for u to get the permanent role once the permanent box is available. Dont worry, as long you are perform and adapt very well, there will be a high chance for u. There are some people , CDH for 1 year then able to get permanent position on next year due to performance and opportunity.

HR said still pending hiring manager’s boss (2nd level) for approval because he’s on leave (maybe taking the whole week since CNY).

And any negotiations and questions should be asked when the position is approved as per HR. So i keep patiently waiting.
