How you spent the 2 hours ? Petronas or petronas digital ?
*
30 mins before the actual scheduled interview time, HR rep called me and asked to join Teams for some briefings and tips (what sort of questions to be asked, which area should I focus on during CBI).

2 hours - personal details, work exp, why Petronas, some business/use case, technical. Hiring Managers asked lot for each working experience what I did in details, challenges + action taken, work culture etc.

Mine with Petronas.

Thanks

For technical role, at least a Diploma and you should enrol in their INSTEP program. Finishing this programme will qualifies you to be a junior technician as such related to your education background. For engineer/ engineering executive roles, the minimum requirement is degree in engineering. For finance and commercial role, I believe the minimum requirement should be Diploma & higher. I'm not too sure about this. Maybe someone can help out? Dean's List not required but atleast CGPA above 3.00 to be consider for interview. Hope this answered your question.

Wow. Bro. Interesting. Should have tried my luck when I was in my teen & join Petronas. By the way. Is the work conditions there hard, tough, dangerous ? Or shake leg like government servants ?

Whats the outlook for contract staffs currently at PET? I know its a broad question asked in reference to a big institution as PTERONAS.

For sure there wont be any medical coverage and other benefits as what perma staffs get right but would like to know how's it going with the contract staffs there.

I am an ex pet.. maybe i can answer this. Depend on your contract. There is Contract direct Hire - they call it CDH and 3rd party contract. Contract direct hire is a contract by PETRONAS it self. They will have same medical benefit as permanent staff but for themselves only (i cant remember if they got for spouse and kids). Also depend on 1 year contract of 2 years contract- different benefit as well.

But if you are 3rd party contract - then the benefit is depend on the company who pay your salary.

How do differentiate - CDH staff got a yellow line under their picture on PETRONAS Staff card while 3rd party contract will only get Perkhidmatan staff card - no picture.

Hi I would like to share my recent experience in regards with the Career Opportunity with PET (executive position, experienced hire)

18/6: Submitted CV
25/7: Chit chat session.
26/7: Submitted Docs
23/8: Received CBI invitation.
6/9: CBI.
28/9: CBI Successful

Haven't received anything after that. I know that most of the candidates here waited for months. Hence, patience is virtue they said. So I keep chilling and waiting, hopefully will receive good news soon.

Btw, is it inappropriate to follow up via whatsapp? Since I got the HR number when we have a quick chit chat session and no reply when I follow up via email. Thanks

Just received a call from Petronas Talent Acquisition personnel asking my notice period, current salary and expected salary. But she didnt mentioned about offer or go for medical checkup. Does it means something?

Quick question:
How many among your colleagues from PROTEGE program has been offered permanent placement? As some of my juniors there are considering to leave for other companies midway through. The salary is a poor RM2,000..

From what i know from colleagues, very little absorbed.
So, my personal opinion is if got higher offer from other company, even from lower tier company compare to Pet, just go. At least the salary baseline have increased, and can be leverage for future hiring negotiation.

Me personally think gov should abolish this kind of program la.
I know it's to help fresh grad.

But what happen is, business capitalise on it as the standard starting salary, offsetting/delaying the appropriate compensation to the youngsters. Better just let the market determine it own range.

Maybe few years back, 2k is good number, but with the current price and inflation, 2k is stretching too thin la.
