Can't get (exotic) brands like Canare and Mogami at those sites. The only notable (known audiophile) brands found there are Van Damme, Belden and Gotham... hmm.gif

yeah. very unfortunate. how about other electronics shop though? last time i went to AmCorp, i saw some pretty good stuff like voodoo cable. but then those are probably speaker cables

Seems that Mouser and Digikey also do not have those (exotic) brands. Obviously one place you could try looking at is eBay. Alternatively can try using this cable: BELDEN - 83002 010100 - HOOK-UP WIRE, 100FT, 26AWG, CU, BLACK which has silver plated copper conductor core... hmm.gif

yes 8 braid bro, must get ready myself and fast+focus finish it, i actually a little bit tired of braidings, prefer sleeve now  unsure.gif

Yup, i tried doing 8 braid once, sudddenly felt tired and took some rest, when i come back to it, i'm lost. laugh.gif

QUOTE(graphidz @ Aug 5 2014, 03:14 AM)
guess i didn't specify my requirements lol.
well, it's to make a headphone cable, much like the one done by NoobHacker. 8 braid single core cable to be terminated to 4pin xlr and 2 * 3pin mini xlr. 26awg should be enough i guess
not sure about RS, they seem... expensive... and would just prefer the usual audio branded cables such as canare and mogami etc. if i can't find locally, then i am forced to ship it. gonna need a lot since i'm going to use it for other stuff too, such as adaptors and interconnects
*
You can easily get canare from jalan pasar i think, cause i heard someone able to get from there few months back.

Guys Im looking for a replacement cable for my UE900. The old cable is worn out.
I believe they are MMCX connectors - same like SHure ones.

Any DIY Sifu or recommendations?

Some pictures of the original cable may help. Also what is the size (cross-section) of that XLR connector? For your information there are two sizes of XLR connectors, one is the standard XLR and the other is the mini XLR... hmm.gif

Probably depends on how much your budget is? biggrin.gif

Those are inputs. Depends on which input you want to use. Most common on would be the normal RCA (unbalanced) input from most audio equipment. If your audio equipment have XLR output then simply use the XLR input. There are a few shops that caters/specialises audio equipment interconnects in Jalan Pasar (though make sure you bring sufficient funds). Since this is the KRK Rokit 5, then make sure both sides have the same volume (balance) since there are no master volume (as each speaker is independant)... icon_rolleyes.gif

i have a tdk ie-800. the right side has lost sound. i suspect its the cable.
should i: a) replace the 3.5mm plug? or b) recable the whole thing (is this possible? i only see u guys talking abt recabling headphones not iems)

and for either option above, how do i go abt doing that? Who to find? My location is JB/SG.

Depends which part of the cable is damaged, if the part is near the plug, solder another plug to it will do, if it's too far from the plug, recable is the choice, however recabling an IEM is very risky, especially when opening the shell of the IEM.
