Even with such short length the signal can be manipulate? So I kinda looking for an angled 4" micro USB to usb. I found zealpc.net offered custom gold plated but it might cost me about rm100 if not more just for one cable. Anyone here sells custom cable like this?

What headphone is it? QUOTE(Problem @ Jul 18 2014, 06:51 PM) Is it true according to some cable manufacturers, that the HD800 connector plugs are a challenge that is time consuming/annoying to solder? That depends on how thick cable you are using, the thicker it is the more challenging it will be cause the pins are really thin.

Bought a spool of cable (of correct size/diameter industrial quality Alpha Wire, should last very very long time) but currently no time to re-cable mine yet...

QUOTE(mad093dean @ Jul 19 2014, 11:01 AM) The cable I have is about 4.1mm in diameter across (which is roughly the size of my headphone cable), and may not look pretty (grey in color, thus I bought braided sleeve also) plus not as soft like the original (rigid PVC and 24AWG per wire). Not much mentioned about the cable size in that webpage. What was the diameter of the original cable (with the rubber sleeve)? You may have to measure it yourself... QUOTE(mad093dean @ Jul 19 2014, 11:01 AM) well mine because of cats ahahaa i never replace cable before At first I though it was the usual rubber degradation issue (seen plenty of them). As for the replacement, cable diameter information (as mentioned above) is required... This post has been edited by lex: Jul 19 2014, 11:52 AM

QUOTE(graphidz @ Aug 5 2014, 02:51 AM) anybody can tell me where to get quality single conductor cables? Any specifications/requirements, especially outer/external diameter and conductor size (in AWG)? Also what is the cable purpose and/or application? For your information, you could try looking/searching here: RS Components > Cables & Wires > Wire & Single Core Cable, or element14 > Cable, Wire & Assemblies > Wire - Single Conductor... For your information, you could try looking/searching here: RS Components > Cables & Wires > Wire & Single Core Cable or here: element14 > Cable, Wire & Assemblies > Wire - Single Conductor... guess i didn't specify my requirements lol. well, it's to make a headphone cable, much like the one done by NoobHacker. 8 braid single core cable to be terminated to 4pin xlr and 2 * 3pin mini xlr. 26awg should be enough i guess not sure about RS, they seem... expensive... and would just prefer the usual audio branded cables such as canare and mogami etc. if i can't find locally, then i am forced to ship it. gonna need a lot since i'm going to use it for other stuff too, such as adaptors and interconnects

The only notable (known audiophile) brands found there are Van Damme, Belden and Gotham...
