I bought the q800b because my sofa already close to the wall so there's no point on having rear speakers. Previously had a 5.1 home theater and I had to put the rear speakers at the top. Watching Stranger Things on Atmos is amazing, with volume 20 it already filled the room. I had to tone down the subwoofer a bit because it rumbles like crazy.

also curious for the latest Q990b - apart from the number of speakers (9 vs 11), any other big difference eg like power/wattage? currently thinking of Q990b but if Q930b gives practically the same features + power, with only difference being number of channels, then perhaps no need to fork out another 1k+ for Q990b since my living area not big...

Hi, I just booked a Sony HT- Z9F display set  with some facial cover net damages for RM1.5K and its come with 5 years warranty. The booking is only valid until coming Monday.

Currently I still have the Yamaha RVX 657 system + whaferdale speakers and I thought it's much convenient to go with sound bar which I mainly watch astro and netflix.

My only concern is this sound bar is old and was launched 4 years ago. Should I go for it?

Any recommended speaker stands for SA-Z9R (for pairing with HT-Z9F)? Wwall-mount is sadly not possible option for my unit.

Most of the options found in Shopee are quite unsightly since they come with tripod-style legs sad.gif

My Sony HT-X8500 produced buzzing noises coming from the built in Sub Woofer when playing loud sounds (like explosions).

So sent in to Harvey Norman to check. Told me that the motherboard kaput and needs to be replaced. Luckily I took the extended warranty. Happened after 2.5 years.

I hardly crank up the volume beyond mid level as I live in an apartment, the built in sub woofer is always at the lowest setting.

Anyone experienced similar issues with their Sony soundbars?

P/S This model is the basic Atmos model with the built in subwoofer. Perfect for my small living room

Q800b vs q930b. Rtings.com review seems not much difference between them, how about real life?

i don't own any of these but i would say there would certainly be a difference when testing out these 2 in real life as we are comparing between a 5.1.2 vs 9.1.4 together with rear speakers system.. plus the price of these 2 is also having a big gap... biggrin.gif

If space / speaker wires running through the hall is not a concern would be best to invest in an actual 5.1 home theatre system as sound bar would never be able to compete with a proper 5.1 or 7.1 system... thumbsup.gif

Just bought Samsung HW-A650, is the SWA-9200S surround speaker compatible with the soundbar?
Watch a reviewer in youtube said compatible but asking 1 more time here just for confirmation

Just bought Q930B to replace my Z9F.
The atmos bubble performance is much better.
Easy setup. Sturdy design.
Smart thing app usage is really a plus.
settings and tweaking option is much more diverse compare with my previous soundbar.
with the 3k price point... i am very happy with the purchase. 😊

Seems HW-A650 is compatible with SWA-9100S rear speakers.. Best to check first before purchasing to avoid wrong compatible rear speaker models..

Personally, soundbar is the future. Less wires, less clutters, sexy design, acceptable audio quality, space saving.

Same price but sonos doesn't have subwoofer. How to enjoy atmos content without sub?

Checkout this review

The Sonos supports Atmos content, using side-firing and front-firing drivers built into the bar to simulate sound objects in the soundstage.

I know it support atmos but without sub you cannot get the thumping sounds and loud rumbles.

Then have to take the Samsung..

I am also still considering wither q800b or q930b. Not sure that 400+ ringgit diff worth it or not since my TV does not support Dolby Atmos..

I believe Q930B is for bigger room where you have some distance between you and the back speakers. I bought the Q800B because my sofa already close to the wall, the audio would have messed up if I put the rear speakers just behind it.

Also point worth noting, up firing speakers for atmos won't have good effect for ceiling around 9 feet high and above. Although dolby mentioned 12 feet max but some people have tested and couldn't hear the effects even in 10 feet ceiling room.

How does the rear speaker cable looks like? Each speaker has its own power port to plug in?

I have the space for rear speakers in my living room but electrical plug points are near the tv only
