Anyone bought Yamaha YAS 209?
Anyone bought the newly launched Edifier B700?
Eyeing on this 2 models now as my budget is less than 2k

This is what I gathered, correct me if I am wrong.

LG SN8y 440watt, 3.1.2 channel
Samsung 360watt, 3.1.2 channel

Edifier ???? watt, 5.1.2 channel

Q990b is definitely out of my budget. i actually looking for below 2k but sonos beam gen2 looks appealing for me
yeah, i could get 2.4k during lazada promotion but i have to wait for next sales

None of the soundbars discussed will give decent Atmos. Mostly marketing claims. Maybe the Q990B will.

I guess sharing a summary of my experiences may be helpful for the current soundbars discussion.

Full disclosure. I recently purchased the Sony A9 as it is close enough to my AVR setup for streaming content. I also looked at USD price points for different soundbars to get an idea where each price performance segment it is competing against. Seen a lot of reviews and time to listen at the stores.

Sonos was my initial choice just that it will be twice the cost of the Sony to get all the pieces together to match the sound stage etc. Just the way Sonos is priced locally.

The Q990B is actually quite close to the Sony but it does not do well with spatial music in comparison. Samsung at almost one third the price was tempting.

All said the Q990B currently is like at half the price in US. Samsung has this habit of really good pricing and just before the 2023 models start selling. Maybe you can find a system at under RM2k at more than 50% discount from its original price. Not the flagship Q990B but more mid range?

Got Samsung Q990C from Harvey Norman. Now looking for stand for rear speakers. Hope it’s a wise decision to pair with my Samsung tV.

Anyone audited/compared it with Sony ht-a7000 with rs5 rear and sw5 sub before?

has been surveying soundbar quite a while... has been quite undecisive as whether to get old but good soundbar or get 1 with dolby atmos.

old models i'm considering is Yamaha YAS 207 or LG SN11R.  new model i'm considering is Sonos beam gen 2, samsung HW Q800C

This is true.  I’ve just moved from a very old  AVR 5.1 setup, to Sony HT-A7000, and the difference is quite obvious.  But I already knew what to expect, so it was a managed expectation.  I just need very decent centre for dialogue, and the HT-A7000 delivers.

this i understand... my personal hobby/ gaming room is quite small.. from TV to door in a straight line about 11ft only.

if comes with satellite speaker, i'm considering LG SN11R, old model but found a good price.

probably direct connect with HDMI would be better than wireless?

  i would mainly use for gaming... movies would be secondary. i'm still hesitating which to get. but of course there are some great soundbar that are out of my budget like the sony ht a7000, sonos arc, bose soundbar.

  Since i'm using LG C1, i'm wondering to get back LG also for better performance , i'm eyeing on a 2nd hand LG SN11R

Sony A7000 or Q990C/Q990D better?

Reason to consider A7000 because i have X90J TV.
