WP can apply SG telco phone package but u need to pay a certain amount of deposit ($200 - $800).
SP need to pay a deposit of $200.

I think there is big difference between EP and WP.

I went to the bank recently at POSB to open a new account. Then this smart ass guard came and ask," Do you have work permit?". My answer was yes. He told me,"Ok you can go out (of the bank) now.". So, I f*cked him back by saying,"Do by any chance know the exchange rate for Ozzie dollar to Sing? I be changing a large amount." He didnt know I was an EP holder.

I didnt really get what was his motive but it surely did piss me off at that moment. I think WP has some limitation.

Hey just want to ask based on personal experience, which telco company is good for mobile plan?

I want to call Malaysia and Australia. Probably will be using for international for my job.

WP,SP,EP got no difference la.. all are just a P(permit). just a permit to draw your salary legally.
when you are useless, WP,SP&EP are all served with the same type of termination letter.

only difference, EPSC office in river valley is more posh lo.

I heard WP harder or cannot apply PR.

I believe it does not differ much from one another.

I am with Starhub on a corporate plan which knocks 20% off the total mobile plan, free caller ID and international roaming activated.

Was also able to pay additional 5 dollars a month to call different overseas using the call credit minutes on the line. Australia and Malaysia definitely included as it is still on my phone plan.. However unsure if they made any changes lately

When I first came here, I needed to close my DBS account and create a new POSB account.
The bank officer is giving me a hard time and said that the bank need to incur a certain amount of fee.

When she found out I have some deposit in my previous DBS account, she change her attitude and it's free of charge.

How about the debit card if I only hold WP? I heard my friend said with WP cannot apply debit card.

oh, ok I think I go with Starhub. Seems like both Starhub and Singtel have the same thing apparently. Their internet plan is pretty good as well, so far no problems (hopefully).

My mum holding a long term social visit pass also able to open POSB account.

No matter what 'P', open an account is possible. As long as you deposit the min amount require.

Too bad Citibank raise their limit to maintain normal saving account to $5000, if not, they are a good choice as they provide debit card and cheque book if i not mistaken. Close the account since they change their min amount policy.

Oh, well. Never too late to open another account if one treats me like shit.

Yes, I do not have Degree and just Professional Cert.
So far MoM do not recognize professional cert so I have to get WP since no more quota for SP.
Now my concern is whether we need to declare tax with the said amount.

I thought tax declaration should be applicable to everyone regardless Pass?
