Go the LHDN office where your tax file is managed (generally the office in the city where your first job was, where you first paid tax), fill in a form that you will no longer be working in Malaysia / no longer earning any income in Malaysia / leaving Malaysia indefinitely. Submit that form and the next step would be to make an appointment with the officer in charge of your tax file. You need to get your company to submit all financial documents for your remuneration up till your resignation. During that appointment, if everything is complete, the officer will inform you of your final tax liability. Pay that and they will then close your file until you start earning taxable income in Malaysia again.

This was what I experienced in 2005, just before I came to Singapore. You can give LHDN a call and confirm what you need to do.

thanks.. but by the time my company submit all financial document.. i will be in singapore already.. that would be very troublesome for me to make appointment with the officer d..
and do I have to prepare the tax relief receipt just in case they wan to look into my previous year filed tax?
suddenly it felt so much trouble just before I was going down sg.. sad.gif

I have thought of that but I don't think it's possible since I'm planning to go sg next week (for about 2 weeks) to give it one final try. Hopefully, being physically there will help boost my chances of landing in a job.  smile.gif

So what if suddenly got call for interview in msia while I'm at sg? Like that jialat, right? haha  tongue.gif
*
u just tell them you are currently oversea and can go for interview after 2 weeks?..

QUOTE(studyboy @ Jan 10 2014, 08:19 PM)
Has anyone here actually gone to EPSC to request for an issuance of EP by themselves? Apparently my employer wants me to do so.

How was the process? I have made an appointment for the request of issuance but do I have to make another appointment for fingerprinting and registration?

Also, I read on the MOM website that they need an

**Immigration White Card (IMM27)
(For foreigners who are not existing Work Pass or Immigration Pass holders only.)

I would have already filled this up and gave it to the immigration officer at the check point. Does this mean I have to give them the embarkation portion of the card? If I gave the MOM officer that portion, how am I to leave Singapore LOL?

Or, are they asking me to get a unfilled IMM27 form?

Also, I know for a fact that the EP card can be collected 4 days after the issuance and registration has been done. Am I able to leave Singapore and return to collect it after 4 days?

Thanks for any reply and apologies if the questions sounded rather silly! I am so just so worried about this EP thing and I want to do it absolutely right! Plus, staying in Singapore is expensive so I'd rather travel to the place rather than waiting 4 days for the card.  smile.gif
*
meaning u haven start working and you wanted the card to be issued?..

and yes your employer would need you to visit epsc for the fingerprints .etc.. then 4 days later you can collect the card.. since the document you submitted include your white card.. i dun think you can depart from singapore.. maybe you can request but i dunno how..

ppl normally do it after working.. so nt much issue..

Generally if it is for personal use, customs will let it go. Especially if you taken it out of the box.

But in this case, you mentioned laptopS. If that's the case, I think customs might have done him a favour in choosing the cheapest item to impose GST. They could have imposed GST on his multiple laptops, as that's obviously beyond reasonable personal use.
*
ops.. the "S" is a typo.. haha

Can I use my DBS account TT to my Maybank account?

What is the minimum amount? how about the charges? per transaction? or ?

Should I change my money into RM in cash and then cash deposit when I go M'sia?
*
i think u can apply a TT account with exchanger...
then TT directly to your bank account in malaysia..
subject to some charges.. if u TT less than 20k sgd iirc...

Going to work in singapore soon, Anyone can recommend me any postpaid plan with phone? My budget is below 100 sgd and I need use more data instead of voice call.
*
the phone plan here are basically the same.. u just need to choose ur telco...

under 100 if it means u can claim from ur company.. den by any means choose the 99.00 plan from singtel or equivalent from starhub or m1.. which has 4gb data n 500 mins call...

if u need more data than that.. den subscribe the lower plan that has 3gb... den add on data which cost cheaper per gb iirc...

refer here as an example..:

Hi, ladies n gentlemen. I just wan to ask is that Malaysia experience is not recognize by Singapore? (Construction field - Quantity surveyor) with 3 years experience, how much can i get?
*
i cant answer 2nd part of your question...
but of cuz ur experience counts whereever you work.. but experience is only taken credit when what you did is relevant of the job you are applying...

unless ur previous job experience is only lim kopi n do nth... i m sure any experiences help in pursuing future prospect..

i salute the ppl who travel back n forth from JB to sg to work...

it takes up most of their time.. so i think basically it means very little time to ownself... but mainly its because they are from jb.. so prefer to stay at home... n could save some from the expensive rental in sg...
