Why is that so? Sorry for such a question because I am a totally newbie in this, planning to get my first CC. Any recommendation?

I am gonna use the CC for Unifi, Maxis, Shell, and some groceries in Giant/Tesco.

As for camera gears/electronic gadgets, probably once in a few months.

but for 0% balance transfer, you need to have another credit card which provide such service, which means having 2 credit card from 2 different banks.

Then is there a good chance for me to apply 2 CC from different banks, swipe one of it, then do a balance transfer to another cc to enjoy a 0%/low % interest rate repayment?

yes, but you need to select those cc that offer 0% balance transfer. for eg. mbb and aeon offer it now...

uob one card has 5% petrol, 10% gsc, 2% grocery, others 0.3%.
mbb2amex has 5%+5xtp (on weekends for anything), buy 1 free 1 tgv.
hlb combo (wise + gsc): wise card for 10% on petrol and grocery, gsc card for gsc.

hlb wise need to take care of at least >rm50 x 10 times (to be posted in a calendar month) to activate the 10% cb. can get 10% cb on daily transaction and easily accepted.

mbb2cards only amex is useful but need to pay rm100 gst for the 2 cards. 5% cb only available on weekends transaction and not so widely accepted as compared to visa/master.

you decide.

1. Annual Income: RM35k - RM45k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must

3. Card required for: Petrol, CashBack/Reward, Cinema, Grocery & Shopping, Hotel

4. Existing credit cards if any: No

5. Looking at CC from: Maybankcard 2 cards (only because I have preexisting maybank account). Do recommend a second option so I can compare both. Thanks smile.gif

if you spend a lot on petrol and can fulfill the requirements of HLB Wise Card (10 transactions of min RM50), it does give you more rebates (10%).

but with mbb2card, well it's 5% on EVERYTHING on WEEKENDS only. really depends on your spending pattern.

Johannas with hlb wise u would just need to spend rm500 to get rm50 as for mbb2 cards u will need to spend rm1k on weekends to get rm50 all other days u would get 5x points.

best would if you can get both cards otherwise if it just one go for mbb2 cards
