Which one would you recommend? Lol
*
if you spend a lot on petrol and can fulfill the requirements of HLB Wise Card (10 transactions of min RM50), it does give you more rebates (10%).

but with mbb2card, well it's 5% on EVERYTHING on WEEKENDS only. really depends on your spending pattern.

Hello,

1. Annual Income: RM24k to 29k.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: a must

3. Card required for: paying insurance of around rm600 a month and various small daily usage

*
Sorry, off topic. RM600 a month for insurance? for someone who earns less than 3k a month, that's a lot of money. please tell me you are paying insurance for other people, that makes sense, otherwise, are you sure you want to dump 25% of your income to insurance and barely have enough savings?

Insurance should not be counted as your 'savings'.

hi all sifu, which cc can get more cash back for petrol? i spend around 1k everymonth for petrol
*
Maybe not one credit card. But combination of mbb2card and citibank cash back plat should do it. Mbb2card only weekends... Then weekdays you can use citibank. Please take note of t&c of the cards.

Also maybank visa signature but you didnt mention your income but the two above should do it for 1k.

Or only mbb2card but you can only pump during weekends and not all petrol station accepts amex

thanks for ur info, how ab uon one and hlb wise? last nite i check online, citibank shell if i use 1k, cash back rm30?
*
eh, i forgot wise card cause i always thought the requirements are annoying. but 1k is a huge a mount. you can simply swipe 10 times > RM50 every month.

Note citibank shell is restrictive. you need to spend on other things as well. effective rate of cash back is actually not that high.

so you can consider
1) wise card
2) maybe a 2nd like mbb2card or citibank cash back plat.

edit: i didn't recommend uob one because since not too long ago, uob one has this pool limit on petrol cash back. alot of forum-mers complaining in uob thread not getting cashback. so, it's NOT GUARANTEED cash back anymore.

Thanks all sifu, i think i will go for hlb wise, i need to spend atleast rm250 per week for petrol, but annual fee for wise can't waive?
*
based on response on wise card thread, no annual fee waiver. but use first la, when 2 months (not 1 month because the rebate calculated is based on previous month) before anniversary then you consider whether you want to renew. DO NOT take wise platinum or you will pay more annual fee for no reason.

even taking into account the annual fee, effective cash back from HLB wise card is still the highest. (1200-160)/12000=8.67% (assuming you spend RM1000 per month and RM100 Cash Back Per month)

remember t&c for wise card. RM50 x 10 transactions per CALENDAR month. check wise thread for other info.

MBB2Card (though min income requirement is 30k, B1 F1 Thursday TGV, RM10 before 6pm TGV)
CIMB Cash Back Gold (petrol 2% guaranteed, GSC discounts and RM10 tix too) vs UOB one card (petrol 5% not guaranteed)
Citibank Clear Card (B1 F1 Friday GSC, TGV, Cathay. RM10 before 6, Sat, Sun, Pub Hols)

Which credit card can give me 5% cash rebate or above in petrol . Pharmacy. wit no minimum spending? OTHER THAN UOB ONE CARD.

Citibank cash back raise their requirement, need RM 60k per annum.
*
Mbb2card? I use amex at watson/guardian. If you are referring to these type of pharmacy.

Wise card if you can fulfill the t&c. Wise card has pharmacy category too.

hmm is it 2 months ? means u spend in aug, u only cb in oct ? that's why when u cancel u need 2 months without spending  hmm.gif
*
My logic is... Aug rebate will be reflected on sept 28. then september you won't use it fully, just use it to use up august rebate. so i was thinking 2months before, should be last month of full usage. hmm.gif

MBB2Card for Petrol and Utilities.

For 0% instalment plans... instead of JUST getting the cards that are tied to merchants, one can make use of 0% Balance transfer

balance transfer

and also cards like this:

ocbc silver mastercard

or just apply from 2 banks?

Thank all,
*
Actually, mostly never check with the signature at the back of the card. If you want to let your partner use, just sign only. I mean, it's not exactly 'right, but sometimes, the actual person cant be present and the card gives the most benefit...

Yes, i've done it before. Many times, when i have to.

Hi. After giving some consideration and so on, I have make a decision to apply for Maybank Islamic Ikhwan American Express.. I really do want to take Maybankard 2 but I must avoid conventional credit card..

May I know is it possible to get credit card on the same day as application?

Thx.
*
Just a thought, why not consider maybank ikhwan mastercard instead? In terms of benefit it is better than the amex version, plus mc is more widely accepted.

Or hsbc amanah mpower? Or both(one maybank whether amex or master, one hsbc). At least you get your petrol rebate instead of just points.

2. Should i go auto-debit with those utility bills or should i only call up during weekends to make payment to take advantage of the weekend 5% CB for MBB2?

*
for some (if not most/all) of the bills you have listed, you can just do your payment during weekends via M2U using your MBB2Card. you should check out the info on MBB2Card thread.

1. Annual Income: RM36K to RM60K

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: YES!.

3. Card required for: Petrol, shopping, paying bills, dining

4. Existing credit cards if any: Citibank Clearcard (plan to cancel this) and OCBC Titanium (damn upset they reduced their cashback from 5% down to 1% mad.gif )

5. Looking at CC from: CIMB, Maybank, actually any bank as long as it has good benefits.

6. Others: I want to cancel my Citibank clear card because i feel it is completely useless to me now (very little points, limited benefits) and furthremore, citibank's offers somehow now very scarce. Might consider cancelling my OCBC in the future as well. But i will seriously have to reconsider that coz all my autobilling is on that card, gonna be damn mahfan to redo all the auto billing.

MBB2Card

then maybe UOB One Card. if you can fulfill the spending requirements, HLB Wise.

OR… You can apply, get the RM300 petrol voucher from ringgitplus, and then… use the card few times… and stop using it. The main purpose being the voucher, not the credit card. If the main purpose is the credit card, then… this one is not the one.

Thanks. Had bad experience with Aeon. Not really keen. Plus occasionally only use cc for company. Takut tak sampai 3k rugi nanti.  Any 2nd option?  Im not really that particular about high cb%. As long as i get back minimum 1%, its fine. Rather than just 1x tp using mbb visa, which translates to only 0.5%.

Salary tak cukup for visa signature though  sweat.gif
*
Suggest ocbc titanium... Oh wait not open for application now... Ocbc great eastern... Also unlimited 1% on all transaction.

There's also hlb essential. 1% unlimited except petrol

actually... 1st year waived, can cancel before 2nd anniversary...

i think the best choice is maybank2card but... you don't want it.

Alternatively,
cimb cash rebate, no annual fee. with rebate for online, grocery, petrol but at 5% 2% 2%
