Recently my ping to US server is like 500ms to 1000ms.  Last time used to be 200ms - 300ms.  Because of so high ping, I'm unable to play online game.  What's wrong with Unifi nowadays?  Anyone experience similar problem?
I'm on Unifi 5Mbps btw.

You are not the only one. Go check Lowyat LoL and WoW forums. Any insider can inform the network technician to fix the rerouting back? I'm pretty sure they tweaked the routing tables.

thx

When I was using it (long time ago) it keeps dropping connection. I notice it only happens when I torrent for few hours using wifi. Using cable its ok. So I change to Asus RT N13 B1 (no longer sold), and the problem disappears.

I noticed that TM route the connection to London before ended up at US server in LA. I think the route to London is the culprit since the ping jumps from 50ms to 500ms. The remaining route is pretty good, <100ms.
Anyone know of any workaround or fix? Need this badly... sad.gif

on windows: run > cmd > ipconfig /flushdns

then call tm to retrieve your userid & pass for unifi / streamyx
on router: press reset button > login router > insert unifi / streamyx details > save and restart

ping will get back to the normal 7ms - 22ms

I'm already using Google DNS.
On top of that, I also reconnect multiple times, each time vastly different IP address (starting with 175.xx.xx.xx, 115.xx.xx.xx). Also same issue. Because all of them routing to London server and that took 500ms at least... sad.gif

dude...i have just signed up via tmshop for vip10.
magically, next day got private number call me, offer rm198 for 20mbps line WITHOUT hypptv.
once i agreed, they told me its a cooperation between tm and maxis. now this creeped me liao.
so i turn them off.

I do guess that there are undercovers in tmshop, hijacking customers!can i complain>?

Yep yep, exactly the same! Just that the plan different cos I signed up for VIP5. Called TM today and confirmed no such plan. VIP10 without HyppTV is RM178 or 179, can't really remember.

All TM UniFi VIP plans come with HyppTV.

What you said without HyppTV is actually without the HyppTV platinum pack or mega pack. So you will still get the free channels available to all UniFi VIP subscribers.

Guys, just signed up for unifi today at TM point, and they tell me that they did not cover my block, coverage only to the block next to mine... Which is like, 30m away.
Seriously got such thing? Like that I might need to change my mind on getting unifi =.="

my office just installed with the Unifi Biz 10 package, there are currently two line in my office, one is this Unifi and another one is Time Fibre (6mb package) which has not cut by my owner.

The Unifi internet connection is very unstable and often disconnected. Somehow the speed is not much faster than Time Fibre 6mb connection. I did speedtest on Unifi internet and only got around 1mb ++ , highest 3mb ++

May I know anything I can do ? I told the TM installation guy and he said his computer tested around 9mb plus @@ Somehow the internet connection affected my staff productivity

Hi guys..

today TM contractor installed my unifi at home( vip5)..everything going smooth..but after using for 3 or 4 hours suddenly my internet connection lost..i check the BTU modem no power at all..seem like suddenly the modem gotinternal short or burned ..

so i call the contractor again to come and check the problem..after checking they said the modem got short or burned inside coz no power at all after they testing it..

so they advise me to call for TM to get a replacement unit..lucky me the contractor give me free old modem ( the white color) for a temporary replacement until i get the new btu modem from TM...

the issue here me feel a little bit disappointed bout the product quality from TM..so want to ask :

1) does anyone got the same experience like me? , using for few hours then the
modem kong already..

2) the maximum speed i get is 4.7~4.8mbps download speed..the contractor said it
normal coz there are many unifi user at my place..they also said, in some place
where a less user using unifi, vip5 can get until 6mbps download speed..did they
tell the truth?

now me phobia a bit that wifi RG and top box will rosak next..coz only using for few hours already got the problem..hope no major prob will happen next..

thanks for all advices and opinion...

I'm one of the early adopters of Unifi and been using it for about 3-4 years now. I had problems with connection issue after using it for 6 months I reckon and had my Huawei modem changed once. The Huawei modem is pretty solid one IMO. Only thing is the crappy stock router and I'm not sure what other routers they provide to customers now.

I changed my router to Asus N13U-B1 and so far things have been running stable and I have been getting consistent speeds throughout the years. As for the STB unit, I rarely use them but still working fine though.

As long as I get above 90%, I'm a happy customer. I do understand the complications of this networking stuff, so that's good enough for me.
