Make sure you pick up calls from 03-26015000 or some other similar numbers. This is normally call to upgrade UniFi (including the RM30 discount offer). My colleague was complaining yesterday that he has been subscribing for more than 2 years but never offered to upgrade with a discount, only to realize he has not been picking up calls from numbers not saved in his phone. In fact, he did have missed calls from 03-26015000.

Now my major concern now is the black box. According TM it's lifetime warranty but that's exclude service charges. Meaning, have to request thru TM and they will send their technician people. We have to pay them (RM50) correct me if I'm wrong.

Is this how TM work? This is totally bullshish
*
I am using the white ZTE one instead of the Huawei black. Once a power surge burned the power adaptor to the ZTE modem. I called for replacement of the power adaptor, and was told, NO SERVICE CHARGE if its fault with the modem equipment (including power adaptor). If its NOT, but some other issue on my side, then there is a service charge.

Hi all

Just upgraded to ViP10 .. able to download about 1.2 to 1.4Mbs but now noticed that Hypptv images are breaking up. If I stop downloading, then the TV's ok.

I thought the Hypptv and internet has separate vlan and bandwidth ? Using original orange wireless router from Unifi.

Any suggestions besides calling Unifi ?
*
Which router are you using?

most likely its router issue. the router may be overloaded when forwarding packets, causing the IPTV stream to be affected.

So sad. Called Unifi centre and enquiry on my upgrade to VIP10 status. To my shock, they said their system did not register anything on my request to upgrade. Told them I received called from them (03-26015000) and agreed to upgrade after go through the procedure of T&C.

They now will log a case and escalate it to upgrade department. Have to wait for their stupid call again. So disappointed.
*
It will take around 48 hours. In between if you call the Call Centre they will not know anything, coz I tried that before.

anybody can clarify on the news that TM is going to discontinue their mail services? Means VIP/BIZ users no longer can use free 2GB email? xxx@unif.my?
*
QUOTE(heavendevil @ Oct 10 2013, 02:48 PM)
New registrations will not get the free e-mail. Registered ones get to keep it I think.
*
It will be discontinued, if not mistaken from Nov 15, 2013 onwards.

mine is modem VDSL2

QUOTE(Alpha Wolf @ Oct 24 2013, 03:45 PM)
Does your vdsl2 modem heat up as much as the fiber GPON?

Heat + not properly ventilated (eg. units stacked on top of one another) = shorter lifespan
*
There are two types of VDSL2 modems that TM uses.

1) The Huawei (black) modem - some earlier batches have over-heating issues, in fact I got mine replaced many times due to overheating and unstable connection.

2) The ZTE (white, standing) modem - this one is better and do not have over-heating issues due to ventilation holes at both sides of the modem, but you must place it standing. If possible, ask for this modem the next time you ask technician to replace it. In fact, I got mine replaced with this one 9 months after using UniFi.

call me on the 6th offer me RM20 upgrade to 10mb..sh*t now see got new promo start on 1st Nov..call them ask to change but say cannot coz already upgrade..should i fire them kaw kaw coz offer old promo..
*
Only if you subscribe to the MegaPack or SportsPack for RM50, you get VIP10 for RM149 or VIP20 for RM199 under this deal. Unless you really need to subscribe all these TV channels, the previous deal of RM169 for VIP10 or RM219 for VIP20 is still worth it, especially if you hardly watch TV.

can I request for the previous promo which is RM169 for 10Mbps cuz I never use the HyppTV :/
*
This promo is only offered if TM calls you to offer. So you will have to wait for a call from them.

Normally, they will only call you if you already completed 2 years contract, & you have good payment record.

i got rm179 promo to jumpa vip10.. dei.. after this he call back.. i ask rm169 (told him to call back later)
*
Well, I am not so sure if this RM169 offer is still available now. Good if anyone who get this call in the past one week can confirm here.

I myself was on VIP5, shortly after I completed my contract in March, I got a call to upgrade to VIP10 but no offer, RM199. I declined.

Then I got the RM169 call just 2 or 3 months ago, and I accepted it.

For your info, I have a friend who were among the early UniFi users, got upgraded to VIP10 at VIP5 price last year... Seems that the offer changes from time to time.

hai everyone, just receive a call from TM in regards of a new promotion..

currently using vip5,

1.they offer me a tv megapack at rm50 + increase internet speed to 10mps (total would be paying rm149 vip5 + rm50megapack)
2. then as i said not much intrested with the TV, he say another offer is i jump ship to vip 10 with price of only rm179.

**downside, renew back contract from zero to 2 year

anyone else got this kind of offer? legit?
*
Looks like this is the new promo. Previously there is upgrade to a higher package with RM30 discount, so in your case should be RM169.

*
Better to change it. There are various TP-Link & Asus routers available. The cheapest is TP-Link TL-WR841ND, I used that for 2 years & recently changed to a better model TP-Link TL-WR4300.

me got the rm169 offer to vip10 even my payment not consistence .. some times got tunggakan some more.. hehe.. tongue.gif
maybe they offer to customer reaching or ended contract...
i got call from maxis also... he did introduced he's from maxis.. ask im on which unifi vip and how much monthly..
when i say on vip10 rm169 he understood im still on contract..  laugh.gif
*
I got the call in August this year, some 5 months after previous contract ended. And since its a good deal RM30 discount for life (provided I don't terminate it) I took it.

By the way, at least this Maxis reseller who called you understood you are on contract. Just about one year ago (either Dec 2012 or Jan 2013) I got a call from Maxis itself (from a Maxis fixed line) offering me Maxis Fibre 10Mbps at RM138 because I am a Maxis postpaid customer. When I told him I am still on UniFi contract, he started explaining to me all the savings in terms of monthly subscription, free VoIP phone calls to Maxis mobile, etc etc that can cover the RM500 termination penalty!!! mad.gif mad.gif

Require some help from forumers here. Currently subscribing to a unifi 5mbps package and has already passed the 24 months period. Im about to shift to a new place , but its just 3 storeys up of the same condo. Is it possible for me to relocate the unifi without terminating my current contract and re-applying to a new one?
*
QUOTE(Mika @ Nov 19 2013, 05:56 PM)
Yes, you can as unifi relocation is FREE but since your contract already finish better get NEW Register as you can get all NEW & more Updated equipments & it include warranty. Also you can keep the old ones as spare. Added more you get HyppTV Everywhere + HyppFlicks for FREE for VIP5 + Rebate Offer from me. smile.gif
*
Better relocate the service. Since you are an existing subscriber, there is a chance some time in the near future you get offer to upgrade to a higher package with discount. If you terminate & subscribe a new line, although you get new equipment, you are considered new subscriber and will not get discounts for upgrades in most cases.

In an attempt to revive back HyppTV, I powered the STB on and was greeted with this.

Rebooted a few times and does not help.

Is this a technical error on TM's side? Did a quick search and found out that some users resolve this by changing the STB. However, since mine is not under warranty anymore, RM400 for a replacement? Doesn't sound like a good deal. sweat.gif

I read somewhere some time ago that there is a shop in Low Yat Plaza selling 2nd hand HyppTV STB, anyone can confirm if this is true?

These calls are probably made by resellers. I am already a TM UniFi subscriber for nearly 3 years and I have been getting calls from some weird-looking phone numbers claiming to be from TM asking if I am interested in UniFi services. They will always claim they are from TM, but their phone number is not even a TM number, in some cases a mobile number, so my best guess is they are resellers.

If the person can offer you both a choice TM UniFi & Maxis Fibre, very likely this reseller represents both TM & Maxis.

QUOTE(crazyito @ Jan 1 2014, 01:13 PM)
To all the sifus here, I've just subscribed online for UniFi VIP5 few days ago. The next day, I received a call without number shown, claiming to be from TM. She was offering me 2 packages, one is 5Mbps+HyppTV - RM149 and another one is 10Mbps - RM148, without phone, HyppTV and decoder, free 100 minutes call to Maxis numbers and unlimited calls to fixed line.

My question is, is there really such a package (RM148) for UniFi? Or it's actually Maxis Fibre?
*
QUOTE(crazyito @ Jan 1 2014, 02:02 PM)
If she is from Maxis, how did she know that I subscribed to UniFi? An 'undercover' for Maxis?  hmm.gif
*
QUOTE(Ahmaz @ Jan 1 2014, 03:07 PM)
Depending on who/where you signed up for UniFi, they sold your info >.>
