guys, can please suggest a router to replace the d-link, and maybe a how-to setup for the new router? i saw the tp-link router box says "support unifi" but i don't even know how to setup, as i know the firmware needs to be flashed to a unifi-compatible one.

why i'm changing is because the wifi for the d-link is not working properly, can't connect or sometimes can't even detect the wifi. so i had a tp-link TL-WA701ND access point instead to use as a wifi access point, but it's freaking unstable now. my ipad and my fren's android phone either always drop connection or can't connect at all, and our laptops have very bad connection, mind you we're in the same room as the ap and unifi router. troublesome. sad.gif

i'm thinking of either changing the ap or totally changing the dlink router itself.

their logic
internal wiring = adding new cabling within the same house. no potential new customer, installation will be charged
relocation to new premise = adding new cabling to new house, old house vacant. next owner may come in and use existing fibre installation. potential new customer, thus installation foc

just want to know if the following can be done. if yes, please share method.
I am planning to route the cable to my room upstairs with all the modems etc etc in my room. But internet will only be used in the upper level. where else lower ground would need the Hyptv and phone(Phone more important).

I know that hypptv can be routed via a aztec homeplug. so lets consider it done.
but how do i route the phone downstairs? The cordless phone. so that my parents can charge, and use the phone from their room, instead of having the phone passed around when needed. Is this possible?

thanks again!

I'm wondering, well I don't know to put into words but I'll try my best.

How far does Unifi is available from its point? For example in Kangar, Perlis already have unifi and my place is about 7-8km from Kangar. Is it possible to get unifi or the radius is short like 2,3 km only

Personally, I use Mikrotik RB751-2HnD. Impressed with the feature and performance, able to use internet and IPTV.
Downside of it: Difficult to configure.
Besides that, you might want to try the TPLINK or Asus router that used by many forummer here.
