hi guys,

i got one situation here. I am from KL and I am going back to Sabah end of next month permanently because working matters.

I want to cancel my Unifi and unfortunately, my hometown, Sandakan doesnt have any Unifi services now which is a BIG letdown for me. sad.gif

If i want to cancel my Unifi services and it is still in contract (still got 6 or 7 months i think), what should i do? Can i give the reason that i am going back to Sabah and avoid paying RM 500?

Any help from sifus? sad.gif

Thanks!!

If you have any friends who will be subscribing to UniFi, perhaps you can transfer the line to them.

If Sandakan don't have unifi, you can ask to convert your account to streamyx to Sandakan. No need pay penalty as you still using TM products. wink.gif
*
if i have already applied for TM products then how ah?

Do i need to give back the modem and everything if i want to cancel the unifi services?

Drop by and get black and white of the termination. Subject to penalty since still within contract period, why do you need to terminate?
*
because i am moving back to Sabah. I dont need to return all the modem and stuff right? Dont know if they will charge me penalty or not. sad.gif

dont tell them you want to terminate..

instead tell them you plan to reallocate the unifi to sabah..

if no service available there.. then no termination fee 1.
extracted from TNC.

normally wheere i can do this? call them or go to any TM branch?

yes..You need to go nearest TMpoint to pass them back all the stuff including remote for iptv box...then you will sign terminate form..settled..no charge bcoz ur new place not under unifi coverage area..so you can escape the penalty charge.. icon_rolleyes.gif

yeap..that's all ...but for sure they will checking ur contract and they will ask why you want to cancel if you still under contract...like i said b4 if moving to new place without unifi coverage..then can escape the penalty charge.
*
when they ask me why i want to cancel, then i said i am moving back to sabah. And then i ask them to check if my area got unifi or not? it is better for them to check for me and confirm that right? haha..

All TM email services has been discontinued...that includes 1515, streamyx & unifi. Notification mails have been sent out for months.
*
That include billing notification which they normally send to your email right?

By the way, i went to TM point and cancelled my unifi services which still under contract. I told them that I am going back to sabah which I really am! Too bad no unifi services in Sandakan, sabah. Sigh

At first, I was a bit skeptical whether they will still charge me penalty or ask me to continue the contract with other TM Internet services but that guy waived my penalty. thumbup.gif

I think he saw my IC address and don't charge me penalty. Phew.

I was told before by UNIFI agent that easiest way/trick is

1.asking to transfer yr account to new address
2. then new address go no UNIFI , right?it is legit since sandakan no unifi yet
3. UNIFI/TM will not charge penalty if new address got no service.
can or not?
*
I did ask them to relocate to sabah. But once that guy heard it is in sabah, immediately he said penalty waived. I not sure others did the same thing as me or not.

Hey guys, I am wondering this question. I am staying in condo now with no fiber optic cable in it. Will I able to use unifi in the future?

As I have a friend who stayed in an old condo but he got unifi. I asked him whether TM replaced the copper cable to fiber optic and he told me no. They fixed something on the TM box. Is that true? With no fiber optic, will we able to use unifi by using copper wire?

Unifi can be deployed via telephone copper wire through VDSL2.

There is no need or a must for fiber (FTTH) for highrise.
VDSL2 is more cost effective and easier to install.

Telco just need to pull fibre to the MDF room at the ground floor of highrise, then already can serve the whole building.

QUOTE(buyoq @ Mar 16 2014, 10:47 PM)
yes it is possible via VDSL
Unifi uses 2 technologies which is FTTH(Fibre to the home) & VDSL
most high rises building will use VDSL
Fibre from TM exchange will terminate at your bulding MDF/telephone room & from MDF room will run thru copper wire to your home

Thanks bro. I stay in Sandakan, Sabah and i not sure if Unifi will come to my condo or not. Hope they will la..
