i thought bout changing the opamps but I don’t want to take the chances of destroying the board since I don’t have the proper de-soldering equipment. so i decided to chance my sound card opamp instead  biggrin.gif  maybe getting the LME49720NA.

What sound card you are using?

IMHO, Linear Technology LT1361CN8 opamps are better than National LM4562NA~
Using Prodigy HD2 smile.gif

Yea~
Warmer...
It smooths all stages: mid, high n bass~
Tighter bass~ Better soundstage!
It makes the music easy-listening. I think this is most significant.

helo altec lansingers..

thinking about upgrading from Altec Lansing VS2220 to VS4121.
but i read/heard rumours that the build quality of altec's speakers now is inferior to that the 1st few batches when they started producing.
= same model but different build quality now..ATP3, VS4121, etc.. people said its not sounding the same now than what it used to.
(cost-cutting measure?)
any comment on this? sweat.gif

IMHO there is no perfect speaker in market. Depends on your taste. Some people said their speaker sound so good and kicking their ass. At the same time modified them like hell. From Xcover to IC. Its up to peoples how to define word in their mind. For me a very good quality speaker sound amazing in all original spec and component.

Some people have a lot of money. They can buy what he/she want. its personal stuff actually. Built own power amp since 14 years old are not enough to tell peoples what is better and what is not. Be nice person agree with everything are bad habit too. biggrin.gif

as a newbie in this forum (maybe you got a banned account before whistling.gif ), try to act as polite and kind, and you will make friends and ppl willing to share their opinion with you.

Your 14 years of experience in audio stuff = shit ass for just because your words and posts are fulled of sarcastic.

I won't reply anything you post after this, just bash me as you like, i will just lets the forumers here to judge who is the culprit. yawn.gif whistling.gif I won't waste time on rubbish. rolleyes.gif

so sorry. i'm not point it to you. my speaker mid sound really bad and need to mods too. as i said before no speaker sound so good. maybe its not good enough to people like us. ALTEC or KLIPSCH engineer maybe the best player in PC speaker arena but just not good enough to people like you n me. That why I am looking for Aego M rite now. Just give it a try. So so sorry coolkwc nod.gif

i'm one of the satisfied owner of ACS 45.1 since 12 years ago..it served me really well.. just yesterday i gave up because one of the connector pins patah. i can't control the the volume or its power switch anymore. sad.gif

today i get myself the VS4121..the satellites are slim and attractive to match with the flat screen..the treble is much better than ACS 45.1.. however, the bass is not as solid as ACS 45.1..the ACS 45.1 subwoofer was bad ass.. it really shaked room's ceiling.. i also notice that VS4121 missing the midrange sound.. when watching movie such as Tokyo Drift, the engine sound is somehow faded. the VS4121 only good for acoustics music..

going to repair the ACS 45.1 soon. really miss its solid deep bass & clarity.

I am ACS 45.1 lover too. serve me since late 90's, then upgrading to ATP3. They really serve me well in the mean time. but both of them R.I.P now in my garage. Using klipsch gmx rite now since its sound identical to both Altec. smile.gif

Just got my MX-5021, still doing some burn-in.. Just love the bass when watching movie.. quite tight and accurate.. need to change the satellite cables to better ones as the stock ones really does sound 'hollow'.. hopefully there's improvements after changing it..

Anyone claim warranty for Altec Lansing speaker before?

I normally only turn half of the max volume, already loud enough for me, now got water sound from the speaker. For warranty claim, they repair it or change a new one for me? I buy from ViewNet.
