Right speaker: normal
Left speaker: no sound & no virbration
Subwoofer: no sound but the speaker drive virbrates

Really want to give up but the sound(only just comes from the right speaker) is quite good, even my friend said so, shit...haha...sigh!

tim, you should check if your TDA7370B is still fully functions or fried
use the datasheet to pin point the inputs and connect input from there like how i told you earlier

Fortunately, no any parts or ICs has got obvious damages! Finally, the right & left as well as the subwoofer speakers sounds normally, it's quite lucky of the pcb to be alive!

A fast test gives quite good quality of the sound...clear, bright and splendid, as the advertisements of the ELNA's SILMIC II & Cerafine capacitors described.

Need sometimes for the capacitors to be running in, and also testing stability of the machine. After that, it'll probably go into the 3rd stage, replacemnet of JRC4558D(dual opamp), LM324(quad opamp using as subwoofer filter?), 7812(voltage regulator)...with some other models.

Thanks to all people here of the advices and possible solutions provided!

I took the liberty to make a V2 since TS was last active in 2008.

The Altec Lansing Fan Club V2 can be found here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1863186

Yes, though it has had bitter times, a fun ride as a whole! I know nothing of anything relating to the fields of electronic and audio, just a copycat of doing what you had taught me!

By the way, any good replacement models for the stock ones JRC4558, KIA324P, 7812A? Besides, why does the ACS 45.1 use so many op-amps? One piece of KIA324P and 5 pieces of JRC4558?

Thanks in advance?

IMO, JRC4558 can be replaced, to NE5532 if you want go for budget one. That cheapo op-amp are some better than JRC4558, for better ones try go for LME49720 or LME49860 depends on the power supply voltage. Other Burr Brown op-amp such as OPA2604 or OPA2134 can try out also but i personally not like it for swapping purpose, coz it does not sound like the way it like. sweat.gif

I bet that beggarmaster2000 still likes the original JRC4558 =D
