MX5021 was released several years ago~

MX5021 is a only AL speaker that can make reasonable sound, and is alone in its price range.

but Not all of them the best. New MX5021 cut cost version not produce reasonable sound at all. How to check? open the satellite and look at printed circuit board. They have Capasitor and coil. Old version have 2 coil(big black color component) with 3 small caps. But cut cost version only has one coil and 2 caps.

Well, the coil is called inductor...that printed circuit board is actually called 'crossover'...depends on how you see it...if the driver is same as the old version but with lesser component, i will call it as 'cut cost'...but the truth was the driver not the same as the 1st batch. I will called that as 'redesign'. Tell you, the famous AegoM speaker did the same thing as well. This speaker do excel in movie playback and gaming, about music, you need to tuned if you know how.

anyway, if this speaker not produce reasonable sound at all, i will call others AL speaker( including old ADA,ACS and ATP series) as 'unlistenable', do you agree?

my opinion lah ..'redesign' in factory should be follow by re-series in label marking . cannot be mark as MX5021 anymore.

I can say I love Altec Lansing so much. But for old ADA,ACS and ATP series lah.

Yes, agree with you. It's very personal stuff. Everyone got their own taste and preference.

Some people have a lot of money. They can buy what he/she want. its personal stuff actually. Built own power amp since 14 years old are not enough to tell peoples what is better and what is not. Be nice person agree with everything are bad habit too.

good speaker, just a bit lacking in the midrange.

Buy better quality of audio cable and replace the stock cable, you may get better SQ

i'm using IXOS Gamma Geometry cable as my input and also change the speaker wires already.
it does have some improvements but i'm still not satisfied
thinking on modding the X-over this weekend

Inside got 1 piece of 560mH inductor, that one is the crucial part.

I opened before and changed the wire inside.
