It is also speculated that the Note 3 uses the S800 M8974AB version, which is the highest binned version of the CPU with even higher GPU speeds. Updated as we know more.

The Samsung 3GB LPDDR3 mobile DRAM uses six of the industry's smallest 20-nanometer (nm) class* four gigabit (Gb) LPDDR3 chips, in a symmetrical structure of two sets of three chips stacked in a single package only 0.8 millimeters high. With a full line-up of package dimensions, Samsung's new ultra-slim memory solutions will enable thinner smartphone designs and allow for additional battery space, while offering a data transfer speed of up to 2,133 megabits per second (Mbps) per pin.

Why USB 3.0 - All phones to date have the USB 2.0 interface. This is rated at a max of 480Mbps. USB 3.0 is rated for 4.8Gbps, a 10 fold increase in theoretical maximum transmission speed. Your Gb's of will transfer much faster via USB 3.0 to your external storage device or PC. Of course you need a USB 3.0 port or compliant peripheral as well.
Before the RDF kicks in, I'm given to understand that the Lightning connectors on idevices are still USB 2.0. > link <
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sports USB 3.0 connector for faster transfers and charging - Xeactorz .....Oh, and if you’re worried about losing that micro B USB 3.0 cable and having no way to charge or manage files on your device, don’t be. Similar to those backward-compatible USB 3.0 flash drives, the Note 3 will allow you to connect a standard microUSB cable as well, so Samsung has every base covered.

Galaxy Note 3 Will Debut New Radio Power Management System, Uses 20% Less Power And 30% Less Heat Than Existing Tech ......Qualcomm achieves these enhancements in the QFE1100 by using a technology called Envelope Tracking. Essentially, the hardware tracks changes in the radio frequency and adjusts the power amplifier accordingly. Unlike traditional methods which perpetually run at full power, or those that only adjust the level when the radio is barely active, this technology can limit power usage only to what is necessary at the moment of transmission. This not only reduces the amount of energy consumed for communication, but also significantly reduces leftover power that is needlessly converted into excess heat. Qualcomm claims this can reduce radio power consumption by up to 20% and heat production by up to 30%, all while improving the speed and reliability of the cellular signal.
Knox - Enterprise Security !!!

This is an interesting high-level overview of Samsung's security, including Knox. I find the "authorized OSs" part interesting. Notice the s on the end of OSs. The Knox marketing manual states that it is possible to change the device keys securely, but makes no reference to how it is done. Any ideas?

GSMArena Hands on with Multi-Vision --- expand your screen ACROSS several Note 3s !!!!! - Andrewtst
=============================
For the Note series, the main differentiator is the S-Pen using a Wacom active digitizer, and Samsung's nicely packaged software to take advantage of it across the OS. I personally like the workflow enhancement you get when your device can actually replace the paper notebook, so I am very keen for active digitizer devices, of which currently only the Note series has it in the smartphone/phablet form factor. Larger devices with active digitizers (Wacom or N-Trig) tend to be very expensive (RM5k++) tablets/convertibles from notebook manufacturers.
First off, I want to put things in perspective. I must state that we can no longer think of our devices as "phones" but COMPUTERS. Therefore, since computers have been around for the last 60 years or so, there is nothing "new" or "innovative" to expect from our devices, except for "faster, better, cheaper". Maybe not cheaper but we have seen ASP (Average Selling Price) falling across the board.
And because it is a computer, you have to treat it as such, ie regular backups, some periodic cleansing/factory reset and practice safe computing habits.
Note that of course it is not to be compared with the CISC type computers of the Intel x86 desktop/notebook genre, but it is still a computer nonetheless of the RISC variety, specifically the ARM family, with a huge number of variations across manufacturers. The focus of ARM is for performance per watt, which allows low power computing on the go which has been the dream of computing since its dawn.
Anything else, feel free to contribute.
Information will be added as it becomes available.

Hi guys,
I just came back from the hands-on session of the Note 3. Here are the answers to the questions that some of you guys wanted me to ask Samsung.
(Q)Does the Note 3 use Gorilla Glass for its display? If yes, which generation?|
(A)Gorilla Glass 3
(Q)Are there any advancements in the S Pen technology used in the Note 3? Is it still using Wacom tech like the Note 2?
(A)The new S Pen reinvents and modernizes the classic note-taking experience by providing the ability to accomplish everyday tasks with just one click. The advanced S Pen is designed to fully function as a communication driver between the phone and the user by creating essential input and control features. A simple click of the S Pen button while hovering over the screen introduces users to Air Command, a palette of five powerful features that truly make daily tasks easier and faster. With the Air Command feature, there is no need to toggle between screens, memorize commands or look up different menus.
For these enhancements, the GALAXY Note 3 uses the Wacom technology and is capable of 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity for a better user experience. The S Pen also features a changeable pen tip that is softer, which makes for a better handwriting experience. The S Pen on the GALAXY Note 3 can be detected from up to 1.7mm from the screen, an improvement from the GALAXY Note II.
(Q)Is the Note 3 using a PenTile RGBG matrix?
(A)The GALAXY Note 3 uses the Pentile RGBG matrix.
(Q) How did Samsung manage to make the Note 3 lighter than the Note 2 despite the slight increase in display size and physical size?
(A)The 5.7-inch screen Full HD Super AMOLED screen of the GALAXY Note 3 is larger than the previous GALAXY Note 2 device but because of the thin bezel, the overall size of the device stayed almost the same. The new Gorilla Glass on the GALAXY Note 3 helps to reduce its overall thickness and weight. In addition, we also optimised the mechanical design and HW circuit placement which contributes to the slimmer and lighter design of the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q)Will there wireless charging kits available for the Note 3?
(A)There will be a Wireless Charger Cover for the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q) Can the Note 3 play 1080p 10bit video with flac?
(A) 10bit video playback is not supported on the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q)Does Samsung Mobile Singapore have the 7 days exchange policy for the Note 3 (1 to 1 brand new within 7 days at same place of purchase)?
(A)This exchange policy is not available for the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q) Is the USB cable bundled 3.0?
(A) The USB is bundled 3.0.
(Q) Is there bundled S-Window case? Will it be available at launch?
(A) We have the at launch the S View cover for the GALAXY Note 3.
(Q) Though its stated to support microSD up to 64GB, is there a chance it can support 128GB memory cards?
(A) It can only support up to 64GB.
(Q) Is the LED notification light on the Note 3 multi-color like the S4 and Note 2?
(A)Yes, the LED notification light comes in different colours on the GALAXY Note 3. __________________ Thanks and regards, Sidney

TechRadar - Hands on: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 review - 2013-09-05 - mudkipryan94 A short review, but I would like to highlight one of the comments. I am not being a Samsung fanboi but surely a review should be as objective as possible, and personal bias should be stated up front.
QUOTE
nellymosserFri 11:38 This is a fairly ridiculous review - and in fairness, not very helpful. The article seems peppered with your own personal tastes. We're not reading this to see if it suits you, we're reading it to see if it suits us. It is for us to decide on the leather look. And your comment, "Most people will never use multi-window, as nine times out of 10 you'll find you're using it for the sake of it." Actually, is for us to decide if we like the multi-window option or not to - Pinterest/Facebook/Twitter users, people who actually do like to look at links on the web but not lose their threads - already find it useful in Notes 1 & 2.
Instead of your own personal tastes, how about telling us what we need to know? What about battery life? That battery sounds massive. Is it? How about telling us about sound quality? Connectivity? Any changes to the home page? How it feels to hold? Can you drop it? Does it have gorrilla glass? What is the point/function of the octo core - how good is the super HD filming?
Different people want different things from a smartphone - that's why there are so many. How about you try to think about your spectrum of readers - your customers - when you write. At least that something that Samsung is trying to do here.
.....These smartphones are all top of the range devices, and the bar has been set extremely high. There are very few perceivable differences between the four of them and personal preference might be the biggest factor that makes you prefer one over the other. What we do know is that with such great options from a wide variety of manufacturers, the competition will compel OEMs to make even better devices which is a win for you, the consumer.
It’s a battle royale, and these are the most latest and most advanced smartphones in the world.
url=http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/04/samsung-galaxy-note-3-preview/]Engadget - Samsung Galaxy Note 3 preview - WiLyi Nice and fairly in depth overview, with 40 pics.
...The S-Pen is what actually makes the Note lineup so special, and Samsung has surely provided the Note 3 with even more S-Pen compatible apps, handwriting-recognition features and drawing tools.
There is also one more thing different about the new Note - it arguably looks better than ever (if though not everybody here at the office agrees). Samsung has its entire back to look like leather and the Note 3 looks just amazing....
.....As phones get bigger and tablets get more ubiquitous, it's good to see a device do something different that actually justifies the increased size. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3's multitasking features are particularly well-thought-out -- but whether you think it looks good in leather is up to you.

13MP Rear-Facing Camera: Gracing the rear of the GALAXY Note 3 is a 13 megapixel wide-angle camera with Samsung Smart Stabilization, their take on Optical Image Stabilization. OIS uses hardware corrections to negate camera shake and provide sharp images.
Ultra HD (4K) Video Recording: 2013 is the year of the Ultra HDTVs and with them come a host of video recording capable cameras and smartphones to provide content. This means that video can be recorded on the GALAXY Note 3 and played back on an Ultra HDTV at 2160p. To put this in to perspective Ultra HD has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 (8.3 megapixels) which is 4 times the pixels of Full HD at 1920 × 1080 (2.1 megapixels).
2MP Front-Facing Camera: A discreet front-facing 2 megapixel camera will provide 1080p video during video chat. The greater the resolution, the better the video chat or call experience for your partner. But don't forget the dual-view option that allows you to also capture video using the rear-facing camera.
Full HD Display The GALAXY Note 3 has a new 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The screen is bigger and brighter than that of the GALAXY Note 2 with a pixel density of 386 PPI. This means that you will not only have a crisper image but you won't have to squint at the screen under direct sunlight. The display is graced with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and should provide greater protection for the WACOM-enabled digitizer.
Hi-Fi Audio The GALAXY Note 3 now supports 24-bit/192kHz Hi-Fi audio. In basic terms, you are now getting playback at studio quality levels. Before any argues a lack of subtle or no difference between current offerings of 16-bit/44.1kHz, your ears may not distinguish between them but your eyes do. Crazy I know! But the human body is just one of those miracles of design we may never fully understand.
Adaptive Display and Sound Adaptive Display is a very simple. It changes the brightness or contrast of the screen depending on what you are viewing and the lighting conditions of your environment. This same technology will also adjust audio properties such as equalizer profiles based on the content you are experiencing. If you watch a YouTube video while cooking, the screen automatically switches to cinema and lowers the brightness while also switching from the default equalizer profile to one more suitable for movie playback.
Removable Battery and MicroSD Card Samsung stays the course despite the current trend by most tech companies to switch to a unibody design. This keeps the battery captive and forces you to send your smartphone in for a costly battery replacement. It also limits your smartphone memory to whatever it shipped with. The GALAXY Note 3 has a removable 3200 mAh battery and allows for a swappable MicroSD card up to 64GB. I for one always have a backup battery and alternate MicroSD to match either a work or play profile.
802.11ac WiFi This WiFi standard is essentially an updated version of 802.11n or Wireless-N. 802.11ac currently has speeds of 1.7 GHz, limited by current hardware, but can reach a real-world maximum of 2.5 GHz. This means that the GALAXY Note 3 can work and play faster than most devices on the market provided you have a matching Wireless-AC router.
New Multitasking Options The GALAXY Note 3 now lets users do more with an enhanced Multi Window option. Owners can now launch the same app twice. Multi-Window also allows users drag and drop content, so it's easy to share from one window to another through quick command icons.
S Pen 3.0 The new S Pen reinvents and modernizes the classic note-taking experience by enabling everyday tasks with just one tap and click. The advanced stylus is designed as a communication driver between the owner and their GALAXY Note 3. By creating essential input and control features, the S Pen plays an integral role in how one interacts with the GALAXY Note.
Air Command This quick access S Pen action lets owners quickly open up; Action Memo, Scrapbook, Screen Write, S Finder, Pen Window. You can access this from anywhere on the GALAXY Note 3 screen by simply hovering the S Pen over the screen and pressing the button on the stylus.
S Finder This option allows a GALAXY Note 3 owner to search for memos, contacts, and notes. S Finder even recognizes handwriting and symbols. The GALAXY Note 3 can even sync with and search through Evernote.
Pen Window This option allows a GALAXY Note 3 owner to draw a square anywhere on the app being viewed in order to pull up and fill the drawing with a number of commonly used apps, such as Calculator.
Anti-Theft Features Locate My Mobile displays the current location of the lost mobile on a map and tracks movement history during the last 12 hours. Lock My Mobile can remotely lock your mobile so that no one else can use the device. And finally, Ring My Mobile rings a bell for 1 minute at the highest volume regardless of the current sound settings.
WatchOn Smart Remote For those of you who had a chance to program and use WatchOn, you know that the GALAXY S4 effectively becomes a smart remote control rivaling the pricey remotes sold by TV accessory manufacturers. Now this feature is unleashed on the GALAXY Note 3 with its greatly improved screen promising to make the GALAXY Note 3 a powerful Smart Remote.
Air Gestures This feature allows owners to control the GALAXY Note 3 by using gestures done over the upper part of the smartphone without ever making contact with the screen. Quick Glance lets you view basic notifications while the screen is off. Air Jump lets you scroll up or down in emails and webpages. Air Browse lets you browse images, webpages, songs, or memos. Air Call-Accept lets you accept calls by swiping over the sensor.
Samsung KNOX For those of us who are security-minded and want to ensure that a stolen smartphone doesn't become a liability, it is welcome news that Samsung has brought a global-ready version of KNOX to the GALAXY Note 3. SamsungKNOX essentially separates your smartphone in to two parts; personal and business. Neither side can interact with the other. Samsung KNOX provides Platform Security, Application Security, Mobile Device Management and Samsung KNOX for Enterprise.
Smart Pause While some may call this feature gimmicky, those who have used Smart Pause on the GALAXY S4 know that this a great feature. Just like Samsung's smartphone flagship, the GALAXY Note 3 can pause video playback when you look away from the screen. Samsung has worked closely with content providers to ensure that features that were once limited to in-house apps can now control 3rd party apps.
S Voice With Hands Free S Voice has been upgraded and a feature called S Drive has been added. S Drive is useful for those who must have constant access to their smartphone, even while driving. This feature does exist on the GALAXY Note 2 as Driving Mode which causes S Voice to read your texts, report who is calling, allows you to control your music player or open common applications by voice command. This option enables safer driving and, in some states, may save you from being ticketed by the police.
GALAXY Gear Although the GALAXY Gear is not a feature, I believe it will quickly become a must-have accessory. This is basically a tethered Smart Watch that uses S Relay to seamlessly transfer content and alerts from the GALAXY Note 3 to the GALAXY Gear and vice-versa. Beyond sharing content, the GALAXY Gear also controls the GALAXY Note 3 allowing you to send messages, make phone calls, request directions and a slew of other actions. Aiseh. I don't like Black at all. White is my favourite but then, I've been using White devices for a long time already and I think, a change is needed.
Heard so quite a number of problem with the S series, that's why only interested in the Note series.... Maxis! please come out with your deal... your sweet sweet deal....
I believe such issue no longer happen, and shall not.
My Galaxy S2 also sudden death. SME can only offer to replace the entire PCB for RM650. Independent repair shops checked and didn't want to work on it. It's as though Samsung designed the chip in for 2 years obsolescence.

Earlier there is a discussion pointing to S series will always launch in front of the Note series as a testing phone. Thats why S series is not so stable compare to Note series.

S Series become an experiment tool for Note Series. All half baked features all put into S Series phone till it become lag. Certain app or features also make the phone unstable. Updates after updates later then only okay. By then Note Series will be out with a stable and polish firmware coz Samsung already knows what went wrong based on its S Series experience.

ok, fully understood. no wonder the note series from 1 till 3 are receiving rare reviews compared to the galaxy s counterparts.
Well, like what I say, it's a discussion... so there is nothing about got such thing or no such thing. Get it?
gensys has got a point. Observe S3 and Note 2, S4 and Note 3.
You could say the S series are "beta" products but have a much wider appeal since it is considered mainstream, as nobody seems to complain about their size. Anything larger, like the Note and other 5.5"++ phones, tend to have polarizing effects. You either love it or hate it.

Yes..the S Series will become stable later on. But may user already frustrated and disappointed by all the trouble. Some even sell the phone before it bacome stable. S2 quite special and hardy due to all the problem learned from the most unreliable phone in S Series....that's original S1. Samsung didn't do the same mistake on S2.

There is speculation that the magical polycarbonate is not doing well, and there are no pre-order boasting press releases so far, and also that the gold standard is facing shortage.

Not exactly failed. Just problematic phone. Half a year later it will become stable. S3 already stable now except the SDS. Give S4 a few more months...it will become stable also. Problem is...ppl cannot wait or tahan since by then Note Series will be rolling out to market.
and spec much better wonder the s4 LTE price now @@
which service provider do you think provide the best data coverage and speed and call line quality?
I would like to sign up with telco for the Note 3 and currently using Celcom, happy with their call line coverage and data coverage but unhappy with their packages lor
I disagree,
S is total crap, no need to talk about it.
S2 (G) till now still crap. Still king of hanging.
S III till now still lag.
S4 also not good until where.
------------------- But no issue on Note II.
Even the Galaxy Mega 6.3 perform well.

The bottom slot holds the microSIM card, which is blocked by the battery, while the top slot is for the microSD card, which can be removed even with the battery in place
If I'm not mistaken, the more RAM Linux uses, the better since unused RAM=wasted RAM...
yes you are right but, more ram left = more multitasking can be done when opening new apps coz when android detects your ram drops below a certain treshold they start killing the high ram usage apps which means can't multiask

S2 (G) is a anak tiri one. Nearly every flasher avoid that version. I meant the non G version. You see how may user still have and use that phone. It very reliable
I have no big issue on S3 and S4 except S3 - SDS timebomb just waiting to blow the Mobo S4 - battery life not good enough.

Usually kill all apps the phone will be super fast. I do that all the time.
I think killing an app still okay. It was clearing RAM cache that not good. Try opening stock gallery that have tons of images after you clear up the RAM cache. See whether fast or crawling..lolz

The thing is, we're not opening images all the time. We want lag free UI. And lag free running games.
If many things loaded into RAM, constant swap in and out of RAM will lag our machine.

The version I get is S2-G, and now all is S2-G, so wanna blame, blame Samsung switch to G.
S III is terrible, the international edition, once use Chrome, it is my favor and I need it, the phone launcher sure auto restart, all widgets re-generate when you exit the Chrome after use.
S4 I not really use it, but base on friends respond, none really happy owning it.
---------------- But I never heard people complain on Note II (I use quite a lot of time also) and Mega 6.3, so for me this two phone is solid.

Yes..there always pro and cons. You get smooth UI but you get crawling apps that need cache. Just don't go whining saying my apps take ages to open up. You already know the true reason behind it...lolz
If enterprise computing guidelines are any indication, typically for RAM related metrics, there are 2 key ones:
1. Cache utilization needs to be 99% or more 2. Free RAM available should be around 30%
So probably when you hit "Clear RAM" it flushes the cache, leading to longer load times and prefetch will cause a higher battery drain as it tries to fill the cache first.

Like I said.. S Series can be considered as a guinea pigs for Samsung flagship phones. It's bound to have issue. If you have patience to wait..it will become stable later on.

Yes, correct, but it also clear out unneeded apps that you didn't close previously.
And how fully utilize, as you said need extra RAM available. So if you had more RAM, you can eventually let more un-use app open at background without closing it up.
Don't forget browsing take a lot of RAM especially for user that love tab. I open tab never less than 10 pages in every browse, don't care is PC, Tablet or Phone.
So, in general, having extra more RAM never equal to wasted.

Yalo, I said long ago it is experiment phone.
Waiting longer also does not means it get extreme smooth, example S III, the not enough RAM cannot make it smooth nor-matter how Samsung tweak it, unless Samsung slim it, remove all those extra features.

U're right, that's is why ram for me is important, i don't like my chrome to reload all the tabs after i bring it up from minimized.

Fastest ever for Note 2 was 4 days. For the S3 was 2 days, but I was told that was due to arguing and model bashing between HTC and Samsung until mod stepped in and thrashed everyone.

Do you ACTUALLY HAVE the Note 3 already? It's for owners, although I'm glad you've pre-ordered.
If you do have it, I will leave your entry there. If not, I will have to remove your entry.
You can resubmit when you've gotten your Note 3.
Please confirm in next 30mins with pics of your Note 3 or I will remove your entry
Wah... so strict... hehehe
Anyway, is there any chance for the note 3 to be available tomorrow during the launch... 25th September seems to be so far away... and I am already started to have sleepless nights... even sleeping also, my brain is visualizing the note 3 official video music and the image of note 3 rotating...

If not wrong, non official Samsung Store will have it before 25th. Probably 23th? Not sure.

If you're a female, get pink or white. Imo, Pink is better as White leather will easily dirty

You're a blogger, did you get an invite to the Media event?
......The “breathe” Luxury Portable Charger is a good option to power your device on-the-go if you want something that’s different and looks sophisticated. If you pull one out, no one will know what it is at first. The wide variety of colors broadens its consumer base and can be for either men or women, though most of the color options are geared more towards women (like mine). I think it makes for the perfect give for the tech-lover in your life.
You're a blogger, did you get an invite to the Media event? ===============
No, last time had the opportunity to meet Samsung Malaysia's GM, but so shy to give my name card... but my blogger friend did and now she is always invited to Samsung events and review products . Anyway, I haven't ask her yet whether she is invited or not... but if she is, I will post updates here on tomorrow's event
..... NVIDIA and Samsung, up to this point, have gone the processor license route. They take ARM designed cores (e.g. Cortex A9, Cortex A15, Cortex A7) and integrate them into custom SoCs. In NVIDIA’s case the CPU cores are paired with NVIDIA’s own GPU, while Samsung licenses GPU designs from ARM and Imagination Technologies. Apple previously leveraged its ARM processor license as well. Until last year’s A6 SoC, all Apple SoCs leveraged CPU cores designed by and licensed from ARM.
With the A6 SoC however, Apple joined the ranks of Qualcomm with leveraging an ARM architecture license. At the heart of the A6 were a pair of Apple designed CPU cores that implemented the ARMv7-A ISA. I came to know these cores by their leaked codename: Swift. ....... I always thought the transition from 2 to 4 cores happened quicker in mobile than I had expected. Thankfully there are some well threaded apps that have been able to take advantage of more than two cores and power gating keeps the negative impact of the additional cores down to a minimum. As we saw in our Moto X review however, two faster cores are still better for most uses than four cores running at lower frequencies. NVIDIA forced everyone’s hand in moving to 4 cores earlier than they would’ve liked, and now you pretty much can’t get away with shipping anything less than that in an Android handset. Even Motorola felt necessary to obfuscate core count with its X8 mobile computing system. Markets like China seem to also demand more cores over better ones, which is why we see such a proliferation of quad-core Cortex A5/A7 designs. Apple has traditionally been sensible in this regard, even dating back to core count decisions in its Macs. I remembering reviewing an old iMac and pitting it against a Dell XPS One at the time. This was in the pre-power gating/turbo days. Dell went the route of more cores, while Apple chose for fewer, faster ones. It also put the CPU savings into a better GPU. You can guess which system ended out ahead.......
========== Extremely detailed discussions and benchmarks.
Maybe they know that the winning account stucked with auto refresh? lol... If we win multiple time, any potential buyer that want to pay for the watch? need to attend 25th event to claim, if not burned >.<
just saw today newspaper Samsung Note 3 ads (someone posted a photo about it yesterday) and it mentions "chances to win a free Gear (limited 500 units) with purchase of Note 3". Hopefully a few participating outlet at launch will have quota to give away the Gear free, particularly for JB participated outlet.
The target now is not only to get the Note 3 on launch day or sooner, but also get the Gear for free at the same time.
Anyone getting the same issue for the www.mynote3.com contest here?
When I used my Twitter account which "won"(not sure if I actually won or not) yesterday, the page keeps refreshing and all the images of other users just look like image not found.

only for KL lah.... quota system good for JB coz JB ppl normally won't bother to queue up for free gift, especially during weekday. Give JB outlet 50 sets of Gear, I am quite sure i will be the first 10 who is in the queue if there is a queue at all. For the past few Note I and Note II launching, not many ppl coz first day was week day.
Nah.. i login to that SME event with my winning twitter account. How much u willing to pay for that watch lo... at least RM 200~ 300 la.. haha. Thanks.. ya... peace of mind now... just chilled and wait for email from them.

I will wait till the euphoria subside & price drop a bit to buy. Gives me time to read plenty hands- on review here. I want to steer clear of problematic device.

how are you going to KL? Take bus up and come back in same day? Will try my luck but dunno worth or not going all the way 300km to KL just to get the free Gear. Maybe we can go together if i also manage to grab a free piece. I just scare later JB also got roadshow for Note 3 launching and they also giving away free Gear for first 50 persons. Then wasted the time and money to go all the way to KL.
Btw, just come back from Sutera Mall JB Samsung shop, ask about the Note 3. The sales girl say can get on 25th September but at RM2,399 and no free Gear for sure.

of course you need to buy the Note 3, and need to buy at the Gardens in Mid Valley on 25 Sept. Else, you thought they give us free Gear just like that?

no actually no matter where the winning spot is, it's about luck because you won't know how many million people will post on the last second, thus you won't know where you land also.
by the way my dad won today's one wooohoooo. but he intend to keep the galaxy gear though.

I think I post a N3 full res camera sample from Russian site before.
The result is Scary
Ya, that one result is outstanding. But the one from PhoneArena is good but not outstanding.
Wish final result is like that russian one, then it high possible anytime better than XiaoMi MI-2s, now I keep comparing with MI-2s as the result from Mi-2s is over outstanding already.

Today some of my friends are very excited with iOS7
I wonder what's so attractive on a facelift with no performance optimization or new feature
already theme my i5 long time ago with ios7 theme, ntg more excited now except for the control center just hope that the "DIS" in note3 not easy take blur picture...i got a shaky hand..(old man==)
I read that ios7 causes a drop in ipong5 battery life.
Earlier today I posted a link to an Anandtech review of the device. He goes into great detail about 64 bits and performance, and what it holds for the future.
Interestingly, he predicts it will take 2 years before 64 bits becomes a major part of the ecosystem, and that Apple tried to jumpstart the whole process by adopting straight the ARMv8 instruction set instead of customizing their own stuff.
should be the most stable samsung galaxy series phone ya, and is history, limited edition
Hmm if the price is stable, then getting on launch date or Christmas will not make big different? I actually quite rush in need of smart phone, but the price of note 3 too volatile, I might wait

Note 2 price was stable for 3 months before slowly dropping for 2 months, then dropped faster on month 6.

later I see the battery after update still update the apps, ton of apps update just to support iOS 7

Then I think I won't wait for price reduction or bundle. The waiting of two months to Christmas cost me more than their promotion. By the way, Thanks for the information.

Mid Oct, after back from HK. Maybe compare Malaysia price with HK price. Maybe HK and Msia might have a bit difference, moreover MYR seems strengthening
why iPhone 5s as benchmark? Whatever iPhone price who cares, Apple put the tag ppl buy..
Here for Note 3 and most android phone, ppl compare price to specs and features that the phone offers, then decide worth or not the price tags.. If not worth, less people buy, then manufacturer may lower down price.. Not like iPhone, " u can't afford, don't buy"

I am considering in between 5s and the note3. The fact that the 4'' inch screen on the 5s is really a turn off. Since you said so. I doubt the price will be much more expensive than 2.4k
Now, the next question. Can samsung guarantee 2years future proof? As I am an ex htc user. It was horrendous for updates As in updates, kitkat and those?

I am considering 5s between note3. The fact that the 4'' inch screen on the 5s is really a turn off. Since you said so. I doubt the price will be much more expensive than 2.4k

Announced price is rm2399. Non sep seller might sell lower rm100. After a month expect price would be around rm2100+ for most seller.. Usually I will consider the price after a month released is the "real price".
As for future updates, keep your finger crossed. Note 2 now still at 4.1.2. I'm quite disappointed that Samsung starts to ignore it already, after just a year

For RM200, I can easily get a SGP Neo Hybrid plus a SGP Screen protector
but not if you get nano steinshell, back cover also got SP

got a feeling i won't be able to meet you guys, because even if i'm going there, my friend wants to come along as he wants to buy the note 3 too (he's still trying hard to get the free gear at mynote3.com). then after that he need to rush back so i don't think we have time to meet up, sorreh.

2.4gb ram? i thought it gonna be 3gb ram? and so we have 500mb left to use? I think it gonna lag
it depends on what they already installed. if all the software that are pre-installed are the ones that you would install would it make any difference? because i heard Samsung does come with all necessary software so that you don't have to download as much.
Curious, is it a normal practice to have the NFC antenna embedded in the battery, rather than the device itself?
From SG Note 3 manual: "The battery contains a built-in NFC antenna. Handle the battery carefully to avoid damaging the NFC antenna."
don't know if this is normal but it's to prevent problems like note 2, whereby the nfc chip is on the battery cover, so if you change casing that replaces the battery cover you will lose the nfc chip capabilities unless that casing you buy has nfc chip too.

Ah..ic, make sense. Thanks! Any reason why it isn't embedded in the phone itself (like the radio, gps etc. antennas?)
depends on you guys I am just a semester break student everyday rotting in house .. saw the news from facebook crazy 1
Yeah! Crazy!

Possible, more effect and GPU render required more in new UI.

Ya, after get confirmation in Monday just decide the meet up timing.

sorry ah, i mentioned earlier i won't be able to meet up even if i actually won because my friend wants to get note 3 too but he needs to be some place else after buying so quite rush.

NFC needs to have a coil coming very close contact to other NFC antennas. It also needs to be of a certain shape. The antenna is very different from other RF antennas on the phone. If its embedded underneath the battery then it is too far away, and is out of spec as far as the NFC for mobiles spec is concerned.

Oh. Ok... I didn't notice the comment.
I also need to ask my friend confirmation as well depends how long needs queue. As I am taken bus up and possible back same day.
I still hope can get gear at JB then no need went over KL as it is quite troublesome.
So for sure no one knows. Weird, because even from reading all the IFC coverage news, none of the sites actually describe in detail what the back cover is actually like. I'd love to see it in real leather with a solid internal spine. Then it'll be hard to scratch, can develop a nice stained look, and actually feel nice in your hands. Compared to cheap crap disposable plastic feeling on S3, S4 and N2.

Confirm is not real leather, how many animal you gonna kill???

If leather will be faux leather.
They're gonna die anyway. I eat them. Daily. Don't mind if its faux leather. At least something nice to hold not crap cheap thin plastic that looks and feels like chap fan microwave oven box.

UAG already has a case for da iPhone 5s n 5c..wonder when will they release the casing for Note3..
Planning to get the case n glass sp first before I get the Note3..not in the rush to get the phone..planning to wait for maxis to release their plan then only decide to buy outright without contract or sign plan with telco
Used to love Sony so much and hated Samsung so much...
Actually I am ex Samsung user, I use before S II and S III. I do anger when Samsung release S4. So I just purchase my first Sony - Xperia Z, and later Z Ultra.
But Note 3 make me back to Samsung.
At least the most simple, I no longer need SP anymore. I am anti SP.
lol, is there any phone will not get scratch by using knife?
If you observe the many youtube postings about Gorilla Glass scratch tests, it does not scratch even when you draw a knife or other hard metal object against it.
The Sony shatterproof sheet seems to be some kind of design or manufacturing decision due to its glass, which they have never stated to be Gorilla or any other brand name scratch resistant glass.
