i can foresee it will be the smart device we all have on our wrist 10 years down the road. But whether it will replace the phone or not depends very much on the advance in technology. Who predicted 10 years ago that we can surf net and check email on our phones with just a few touches. biggrin.gif

Ok, read it. I guess the jewellery for those class of people who bought Nokia Vertu phone last time. Not really massed produced stuff.

Galaxy Gear is mass produced and hence, it should be priced lower. Probably Samsung achieved Apple status already. rclxms.gif

Apple confirm do one. I think the old iPod nano is quite successful. Maybe because the price is low.

The smartwatch market is a weird one, so when a new device enters the fray it can be somewhat confusing to pinpoint exactly where it fits in. Samsung jumped in today with the reveal of the Galaxy Gear, a $299 smartwatch that, at launch, will work with exactly one smartphone, the Galaxy Note 3.

Unless you're planning on dropping the cash to upgrade your handset to the as-of-yet unreleased new Note, there's no reason to really consider the Galaxy Gear in the first place. But don't worry, Apple already released a device way back in 2010 that competes with the Gear, and it can now be found for less than half the price of Samsung's new gadget. That device is the 6th generation iPod Nano, and it might not be a smartwatch, but it does a pretty respectable job of faking it.

in that case i might as well join you guys, because the most i am willing to spend on wristwatch is 200, since i got my uncle-looking watch for 170+. and i don't need those features. even if no one calls me cheap, i still consider myself cheap lol.
