from past experience, normally Note series has no major issue after launch. My Note I and 2 Note II still working like new up today. But the S-series seems to have many issue.

I hate SIII overheating. Use web browsing a bit already become damn warm. Not comfy even though I'm using a case

Which model of S4 did you buy? I thought the 3G Exynos version did have some heat issues, though not to the extent of "overheat"

all my samsung note, note II, S3 bought first batch on or before first day launching - all no problem (touchwood)..... so buy the first batch, coz they have more time to QC it, else after launching, orders keep piling up, less QC is "required" coz need to rush it out. just j/k...

so now is the problem. when is the 1st batch

How much is it for buying Note 3 outright (without any call/data plan)? I bought my S II outright on previous occasion and I'm thinking I'll be doing the same for Note 3.

S III still ok, you shall try Xperia Z, the hot is nothing S III can fight.

Xperia Z Ultra is pretty cool, I believe Note 3 shall be cool since both using same processor.
