I do not understand why banks nowadays want to make thing so complicated, sometimes, T&C needs to reread 3x also blur about it.
FD is always simple, how much real effective rate is. That's all!

Tier step up rate, CASA earmarked, investment combination.... doh.gif

i suppose in Klang Valley its easier cos some in not so hot shopping malls i.e. paradigm, e@curve thumbup.gif

but one time trouble only + the con is RM8/year annual fee charge.

Pros
1. All can be done online, dont need spend hours waiting for people to sign your fd cert (Ambank / OCBC all make me wait 1 hour+ for both deposit and withdrawal mad.gif Affin slight better less than 30 mins)
2. their fresh fund term is very loose, current fd expire can directly be placed again for new promo without moving to other bank

Shareholders in a sdn bhd, or bhd company are not liable to the liabilities of their company.

So we cannot say it is "protected" by EPF, even although EPF is the largest shareholders of the company.

What if you want to transfer much more than that, like 100k or something? Banker's cheque doesn't depend on the amount right?

I think he is referring to online xfer. If you do it in the bank, can do larger than 10k for sure. But as to the upper limit, I am not sure. Have done like 50k in the bank using RENTAS before.

Bankers' cheque have no limit as far as I know. Anyway you are not talking about millions, are you ? tongue.gif

I have been using Ambank to create new e-FDs without any issues.
The last time I tried, it instantly created the account number with the amount.

Received SMS from BR's ABM to collect their "beautiful hamper" as described by the ABM. Collected the hamper and asked for another one. Was able to get one more like last year. Claimed that I have 2 accounts with them. Ha ha. rclxms.gif icon_idea.gif

Have not opened it up yet. The ABM claimed that the value of the hamper is higher than last year. biggrin.gif

I was in the branch last week to place new FD. The ABM was with me all the while. I think I brought out the topic about the hamper and "complained" that last year hamper is "cheap cheap". He said he has submitted request to get the hampers and will inform me to collect it later. They have a list draw up on eligible depositors. I saw the list (from a distance) as he tried to tell me not everyone is entitled to it (have relatives who are not entitled to it).
