LOVE your kitchen!! To me the kitchen is the soul of the house. If there is enough space, this will be the place where the family will gather and have a good chat over a meal, or where the daughter spends time with the mom. In my case, I spend the most time in the kitchen chatting with my mom while she prepares our meals. We had an island at my parents' place too, so we would sit there for breakfast and simple meals. But I do agree that the 3' clearance doesn't seem like a lot of space though. Seems a little tight. I like how your washing machine fits right in with everything else. Is there a laundry basin to the right of the washing machine? Just wondering, why didn't you incorporate the oven with the rest of the cooking area, and then have the area where the oven is for laundry? Wouldn't that have made more sense? Just my two cents, please don't mind me.
I like the idea of the sockets at the island. Sometimes you might decide to have your laptop on for recipes, or maybe have a handheld mixer during baking. Will definitely come in handy. Now I'm feeling so sad that I'm out of budget for an Island. Otherwise, I'd definitely incorporate some sockets to mine. I did think about it, but when I ran out of budget for the island, I scrapped the idea cos then I would have unsightly wires jutting out of the floor for my imaginary Island if and when I have the budget
Btw, I want to ask you regarding the granite top that you bought. You said you sent it to the quartz factory to have it "glued" onto the quartz. I'm planning to use tiles for my wet kitchen concrete top. Again, cos no budget for quartz. Is it still possible to do an undermount then, since you said they have to modify the skirting. Now I'm feeling so stupid. Spend so much on a granite sink, but putting tiles on the counter top

Understand your situation and needs. Consider folding table?
No offense, but so kampung style

Hahaha... Nothing is in purple in the kitchen actually, iphone just can't take good picture... The floor is cement grey, cabinet doors are in crystal white, melanine panels are grey with some linen cloth-like texture, plaster ceiling ofcoz in white, the other side of the wall is full height matte white tiles, lightings are much yellowish and nicer in real life...

I bought the house mainly (70%) for it's centre courtyard and it's not direct facing nor back-looking to anyhouse...i love the view and the feel of open space. However, i'm installing a blind too for privacy sometimes..
Lightings is the magic tool in all Id.. No matter how high-end is the furniture, it won't be much appealing without proper lighting effect... Talking about the led light under the cab, i find it would be quite helpful to light up for a clearer view when measuring water for rice cooking, making milk for kid, making drinks, using coffee machine, extracting juice, etc. For me, i will most probably leave only the led strips to be on at night. So that we can still walk in/out the kitchen to get water, washing hands and to get things from fridge.
Agree about the lighting. Sadly, I have absolutely no talent in ID, and no budget to hire one. So using all basic lights at my place. Downlights everywhere. So boring
