You may look for Bryan at Happy Household if you pop round there. Nice and patient.

I bought most of my alpha fans there from the Happy in puchong... Their fans are cheaper than Top Ten actually (included kdk and panasonic). But do they have other electrical items? I didn't notice that actually....i just saw lots of fans inside...

They have other electrical items too. The shop is quite small so not many items are on display. However, if you already know what you want, then just go ask for a quotation from them. I got all my air conds there, and will be getting the other electrical appliances there too.

Speaking about ceiling fans, I think the main reason you are seeing flickers and shadows when you turn on the fan is because Alpha fan rods are too long. I think if the distance from ceiling to fan blades is reduced, the chances of flickering will be reduced as well. I plan to get the Panasonic Nami Jr. fans as it has a relatively short ceiling-to-blade distance. Hopefully it will work well unsure.gif .

I bought my Mitshubishi air cond from Happy (SS2) too... Compared price from 6 shops in total and found the best deal there. Got few free gifts too. For york aircond, out of the 6 shops (all nearby) that i compared, the cheapest is at the corner shop direct behind ESH (SS2 as well), even cheaper than Legend.

Yup, Alpha fan has longer rod... However, it has no problem with my guest room which im using energy saving downlights. One more thing, as i have 2 bedrooms to be compared side by side, I actually love the ambience from the energy bulb projection more. I find its light projection is more beautiful and softer to the eyes.
Since you are using the same downlights, i agree that you shud get fans with shorter rods. Are the panasonic fans you bought with abs blades?

Yes, I think it comes with ABS blade (the website actually states that it is made of PPG material - not sure what it means). The information is here:

https://www.panasonic.com/my/consumer/home-...an/f-m14e2.html

I am actually looking for a different model code, F-M14E8 which is same model but in white color instead of gray. Unfortunately I can't find the information on Panasonic website, and many places are not selling. Maybe it has already been discontinued sad.gif.

Good point about the ambience effect. What color temperature did you choose? I'm going to install 4000K down lights (temperature, not quantity tongue.gif) for the whole house, quite difficult to find other brands with this color. Hopefully the effect will turn out good.

I use all from Mitshubishi Electric. I was asking quote for both Mitshubishi and York as I was not decided which brand to buy that time.

For the price I've got, it's already at post#338.

FYI, all electrical appliances (except TV) are going to have a price hike from 1st Jan. Gonna share with you some items that I've bought recently:-

Fridge-
Bought the Toshiba's 700L fridge @RM2500. Harvey Norman is selling at RM 3099.
Chose this 700L over the 650L as the difference is only rm250. I'm getting the big ones here as I've inherited my mum's habit of storing most dried cooking ingredients in the fridge. Bigger space means easier organizing.

The picture below is a 650L Toshiba that I took some times back.
user posted image
Fans-
i) Fanco fan @RM350, swivel positioning by manual only. (No budget for the pricey NSB vento fan which is around rm13++).
user posted image
ii) Deka baby fan in black @RM188.
user posted image
iii) Alpha E-Light 5 blades fan with emergency light, 4 speeds @RM360.

iv) Alpha 828 5 blades fan, 4 speeds, @RM265.

user posted image

v) Alpha Q28 5 blades fan, design same as 828 but with 5 speeds and reverse mechanism for natural wind function. @RM300.

vi) Alpha Axon 1 360 degree swirl fan, 5 speeds, @RM499.
user posted image

Note: The sales guy from the shop which I bought the fridge said he will reckon Alpha's fan over KDK and Deka (I had already bought all my fans before knowing him and their shop sells Deka, KDK, Panasonic and Alpha). According to him, KDK (also the OEM for Panasonic fan) has various complains from customers for unstable swinging.
Air conditioning-
Bought all Mitsubishi brand (Mitsubishi Electric) as following:
- 3 units of 1.0HP, plasma, i-see sensor @RM1100 ea.
- 1 unit of 2.5HP, standard (plasma only available for 1.0 & 1.5HP), @RM2100 ea.
- 1 unit of 2.5HP cassette air-cond @RM2800 ea.

Note:
1) All above are non-inverter and price exclude installation as my main con will do it.
2) All Mitsubishi air-cond has increased in price. The shop agreed to grant me the old price as I brought the quotation they gave me before the increment.
3) The original warranty is 2 years on interior unit & 7 years on compressor. I've bought the additional 3 years warranty extension for the following:
- RM135 for 1.0HP (1 extension can use for all 3 units of my 1.0 HP as they do not track the serial number).
- RM175 for 2.5HP cassette air-cond.

but it's worth to buy this fridge, a normal plain looking fridge of this size is about 1800-1900.

i just wished the color is not so dark. something lighter will be as nice.

I only use a few lighting and fittings from YET Plus.

I have actually shared quite some posts much earlier about my lightings already. I've even plotted out a 'polka dots' plan. If you don't feel like reading the whole sharing, you may search the keyword at the page bottom, but you must search it inside my thread so that it only give you search results found within my page.

Nope, the main reason are the lights above fan. Not because of the length of the rod doh.gif

I really don't want to argue with you, but it is basic trigonometry. The lights are NOT on top of the fan. However, because the light has a projection that is greater than 90 degrees, it can be affected by the fan. The longer the distance between the ceiling and blades, the further your light needs to be placed.

I'm lazy to draw a diagram for you, but if you study hard enough during your school days you will understand.

So want to boast about trigonometry to wow me whistling.gif
You may draw the diagram to further wow me on this whistling.gif
Just because I never put the term "level", you no need to use trigonometry to boast around. This is nothing to do with trigonometry. Must know where and when to use a concept or a law doh.gif

I suggested you to search previous post but ended up I searched it out for you. It's at post#249 and #250. You may also refer to the polka dots of where do I use LED and where with normal downlights.
sad.gif You also have a thread, so I thought you may understand my feeling of such as we have put in such effort to post the sharing....

In this case i must agree with mrgoodgood on the degree of projection. As we know light projects and travels in straight line and LED lights especially have a stronger projection intensity and specific projection degree. (Eg. eyeball spot light has very narrow projection degree). Normal downlight is not so specific with such projection degree and that's why i said the light is softer or less intensed.

As such if we use these led downlights, we should either move the light further away from the fan blades or use a shorter fan rod so that to avoid the wide projection 'kena' the blades causing shadow flickering (provided the rod is short enough for that certain degree the lights has)... So, longer the rod, easier to 'kena' the light projection.

I know you will say avoid led downlights... but that's still personal choice, as nothing is perfect and each has got its strength and weakness. Although led downlights with more intensed projection but the flickering can be avoided by method suggested. That's one of the benefit of this forum that we learn from people's experience and we find a way to avoid errors...
