Tsk tsk tsk.. let's see how many sound and superb rules you've broken:

1. Job done by ID and not the cheapest available carpenter, big water fish.
2. No wet/dry kitchen separation, maintenance issues.
3. Not using concrete counter top, won't last 'forever'.
4. Not using aluminium bottom cabinets (despite cabinet being raised and having aluminium skirting, it won't last).
5. White kitchen doors, blasphemy!
6. Using a hood, that stuff won't work.
7. Not using Panasonic appliances, sure break down faster.
8. Not enough ventilation for oven.
9. Front loading washing machine, waste money and electricity.
.
.
.
.

But we are just human, so in my mortal eyes, your kitchen is superb~~  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif Congrat congrats~~

I like the full height cabinets too. They really maximize the use of space.

Maxime is not installing the hood/hob for you?

I would have go for a larger kitchen island, but that is just me.

I think the price is very reasonable. My quotation is a lot higher than yours  yawn.gif . Maybe I didn't squeeze the best deal out of my kitchen supplier.

Just wondering, do you have shelves below the island as well?

Whatcha think about oriss. Going to pull another fd for their blue/stainless/ wood kitchen. Was simply awesome.

Or was thinking of hiring them as the id n collaborate with my carpenter.
btw whose rules are those??
maxxon kitchen looks nice and hmm think about the same i saw in a lot of other kitchen id showrooms.
btw i would avoid belkin surge protectors. a properly planned electrical switches with rated fuse and calab and good earthing from lightning arrestors is the way to go.

eubiq is another option.

another thing has anybody here did upvc casement windows. They look awesome and its exactly like my house in the UK last time. Always wondered y they didnt make this as a standard here....

Wow you have your eyes on Oriss as well! I saw that last Saturday in Perfect Living, and was very intrigued by their kitchen set. The brushed stainless steel top is marvelous! I think it will overcome the biggest disadvantage of SS counter top which is prone to scratches. Also equally cool is the metal frame. I think the biggest obstacle will be the price - it is simply out of my league hahaha...

Did you see the metal + wood display rack as well? two for RM6k... phew... But it looks so good!!!

I am now very excited and eager to see your house design... hahaha...

for those who dont know what we are talking about

btw bro that panel with the oven thingy etc.. RM40k..

yeah he did something with that stainless steel... like brushed alu..... same like my lian li casing.

me too. lol reno started.. but no drawing from my ID yet. yeah that much i trust them since they did two other places of mine before... super slow.... but very detailed... expected done around august.

sorry to hijack this few posting maxxon but hope u saw them .. they blew everybody away in my opinion and as always long timer in lyp. its hard to discern haters and actual feedback from posters. In the end its your opinion and ure cash that matters. So far interesting reno journey.

I asked for 6 quotations in total, all were obtained during exhibition. I brought my ipad over to show them the layout plan and measurement. The first booth that I went to helped me drafted a simple kitchen plan on the spot based on our discussion. After I got the quotation, just gave them an excuse to buy some time and walked away first. By that time, I already had in mind what's the layout and material that I want. Then, I went to other booths to get more quotations using the first draft.  tongue.gif

I've got a heart-attack when I read their not-so-good review on lyn after that. Thank God that things didn't turn out too bad so far. Quality of cabinet is still pretty good. Perhaps, I've already very much immuned to the situation where the vendors just couldn't accomplish their job in one go. Many still need to come back 2nd or third times for rectification or repair, and such vendors including those big players and those with good reputation online.

As I've start mentioning about the topic of rectifications, for my case, other vendors who came back for rectifications includes:
1. sunspot- windows & sliding doors (simply too many rectifications to be mentioned, product ok but their response and installation flaws was giving me big big headache).
2. Reliance Home - for some small scratches on their folding door frame (thumbs up for their after sales service).
3. Vin Art - for the bi-fold door dented frame (product ok but vendor not responsive and took ages for rectification).
4. Innovar - to rectify some cracking sound on the laminate floor due to floor not level (So far ok).
5. Kitchen Palace in Kota Damansara- Came back couple of times to replace chipped wardrobe door and loose upper skirting.
6. Three Kim - took one of the gate frame back for rework and painting touch-up for collapsible grill. (Product design is good especially grill and gate, the lady boss is quite responsive and good attitude in handling complains. She has even offer me to deduct rm270 off for the collapsible grill and extended many apologies. She mentioned that they have change the supplier of collapsible grill)
7. Last but not least, there are of course countless rectifications done by the main con, including some parts that we have changed our mind.

I think the list will sure goes on until I get all my things and furnitures in.  sweat.gif

Yeah thats one thing i worry. So far just on construction part already did a few variation with increasing cost. Heading to Muar for the weekend to check whether inlaws can do a kitchen like oriss, oddly enough wife thinks keep it simple....

Btw that ventilation door thingy for ure sink and hob??. Hmm need to recheck on that. The other thingy what i was told to worry especially like intermediate lots etc is when lightning actually struck somewhere else but came through the main. Again will recheck on that statement ure electrician made.

another thing i notice.. wait a minute.. is that the foldable door thingy with the grill?? does that lead to back of the house???...

Really girl i dunno how u handle all the stress etc.

Plumber forgot to off the masterbathroom tap. They hacked the wall for hot water piping. Contractor had made a hole for new washcabinet. Tank water was empty at that time. When the water ration was over main came full out flooded my whole downstairs right up the street. Although nothing was damaged other than the existing ceiling etc since no tiling etc had been done.. but just feel now i have a spoilt house. Cant get over the feeling.

Happened over the weekend. Noticed it only Sunday evening. Meter shows about 11000 liters of water.

Really salute to u. This was my first hickup and i was about to sell the house. One week didnt go see the house already. Really like no mood to care anymore. Enthusiasm of moving to first landed property of our own feeling gone.

I resorted in buying a lot of tech gears to fuel my hobby that i thought i forgo cause wasting money.
Was even thinking of ordering two Titan Zs.
Was like why the hell we spend so much for the house when other workers etc doesnt give a crap that all this is hard earned dough...

Wife actually slapped me. Lol.

wah........
did u installed new timber flooring?
*
no. all floor just hacked etc.. not yet done cement screeding. just when i saw the ceiling. cause the master bathroom is right smack middle of the house. So water went down to the plaster thingy. plaster thingy all wet and then like came pouring down.

I know contractor told me he will fix it foc etc no issue etc nothing. But u know .. always know now the house was not perfect.. get what i mean?? will always have this doubt.

Odd question. ID asked me whether i want a fan in the porch...
Is that normal??
Only thing i told him is put a double switching thing sockets. one lower at most normal heights and the other nearer to the front of the porch

second cause hmm made me realize everytime have "Jamuan" etc.. need that socket for fans/light for canopy.

Hi cstkl1,

Though your question wasn't directed at me..anyway..its common to have a fan in the porch..especially if you have a sitting area. Only concern is make sure the fan does not overlap your existing lights...else the rotating shadows will make u pening.

As for the sockets...its always nice to have extra...and make sure it has the weather covers if its prone to rain..and also have another point to control that socket from the inside...so you can turn it off when not in use as a precaution.

Hope these helps..

Good point on the cover part. Will relay. This is the same one right they use for outdoor ponds etc??

No sitting area. Just wondering should i or not. Reason y i dislike the idea is cause of dirt.

Most rooms, living room and laundry area already have a new fan hook attached by the plaster ceiling guys.

Laundry area, has wood truss hidden by the plaster ceiling, Living area has original concrete hidden by flat plaster ceiling with L box cos of all those beams running across.
Rooms I think has wood support added to the metal structure.

U seem to have some kind of obsession and fascination about laundry area.

Just sayin
