story telling time biggrin.gif

6/9 sent my HTC ONE to repair through Senheng

17/9 email to Senheng and HTC asked my phone's status
Senheng said manufacture just receive my phone on 17/9
HTC said didnt receive my phone
Solution : F Senheng and request an explanation

18/9
Senheng said phone was with SiS
HTC said didnt receive
Solution : F Senheng again and request for refund

19/9
Senheng said phone with SiS
HTC said didnt receive
Solution : ask Senheng's management to deal with me and F them kuat kuat because took so many working days still didnt manage to send my phone to HTC SC

i phoned HTC once again and they said phone no with them
after a while, receive phone call from Senheng Manager and he said phone is ready collect tomorrow, and he said every time i checked with HTC just provide my IMEI#, so HTC cant check it, have to give them Serial#. But, everytime i check with HTC, HTC request my IMEI# but not Serial#, how weird.

So, Senheng's Manager said my phone will send to me next week due to weekends. After the call, i phoned HTC once again and they just request my phone#, didnt request my name and IMEI#, and HTC told me my phone is ready for collect tomorrow, how's weird? because everytime i phone to HTC, they will ask my name, phone# and IMEI#.

Now, waiting for my phone, and if my phone's problem (red spot in the middle when in low light condition) still exist or turn to worse, will file all things to Consumer Association and e Tribunal.

Hmm... was thinking of jumping from samseng to htc... but after reading this, i'm thinking this twice. samseng don't care if u r rooted or not.

Samsung customer service is quite good actually. I had a pleasant experience dealing with their Penang branch at eGate when I sent my S3 in due to faulty mainboard. No need for warranty crap or even a receipt as the IMEI and SN in their database will confirm whether the unit is under warranty or not. Sent it in lunch hour on Monday, got a call from the Monday evening at 4pm, saying that the mainboard is confirmed faulty and they will replace the part. Tuesday morning got a call again saying its ready for pick up any time. So all in, less than 24 hours, no hassle, no need send here send there, no 3rd parties involved. No need to prove warranty, no stress. The counter staff were very pleasant throughout.

If not for their plastic aesthetics, I'd not switch from Samsung. Luckily my Silver One does not have any issues. Else I'd be really regretting it as I know how bad SIS and Brightstar is.

Sony and HTC best learn from Samsung and Apple (or the local Apple resellers. They're also top notch so far)

LOL.

HTC warranty is as lousy as Asus warranty. Don't expect DELL warranty treatment smile.gif

Btw to tell you guys i've given my 3 days old HTC one for RMA. Cosmetic Defect. They say no sure if HTC will replace. LOL. If they dont replace. I am going to flame at their manager direct.

Not sure about Asus phones, but my experience with Asus warranty for graphic cards, mainboards and laptops were generally pleasant and hassle free. They take a bit longer than Samsung, the last time I had to send something from Asus in for warranty they took about 1 1/2 weeks. But they do call up to update the customer on the status (what failed, what will be replaced, ETA), and also call up again when its ready.

Win? We (with faulty cameras) are all losers here. I don't see how we can win if HTC decides to screw us over with a clearly faulty camera.

Customers are the loser. At least in the US you can try a class action. Here, ask for a refund or go for small claims. Thats your best bet.

And never buy again...

I had a few experience with samseng warranty service myself. I can tell you there is bad and good. Bad was i send my ACE in, and they chipped the side. Good thing was, my fault in corrupting the board with flashing wrong ROM. But no questions asked, just replace me.

Subsequent androids had minor problems here and there. Latest was corrupted IMEI number on Note 2, but again, samseng 1U took care of it foc, fast and easy. So overall, 9/10 to samseng for everything. Hence, now I change my samseng android frequently buying selling second hand phones to test and try certain models without the fear of samseng giving warranty issue when i send it in. So I can sleep at night.

Can we say the same for HTC? I have never own a HTC before. All I ever heard about HTC is their 2 years warranty. But is the warranty any good?

I second that. Senhang = headache. In Penang, I prefer to buy from Ban Hin Bee. Their service and aftersales is much better.

Based on experience dealing with HTC's service partners in Malaysia, as long as they can detect you have an altered bootloader or custom ROM (whether through Relocked BL, or requested unlock code, or S-OFF and forgot to S-ON), warranty will be denied outright. This is true even back in the windows phone days. I have had hardware mechanical failure (unresponsive mechanical button) warranty denied because my phone was S-OFF.

So whether you want to argue with them or file a small claims, you can, but I know for a fact, first hand, that warranty will be denied first.
*
of cos they will try to denied all warranty claim. sure u need to put some effort to talk and nego, is our right.

btw, S-off and unlock bootloader is different, S-off is not authorised by HTC, while unlock bootloader through HTCDEV is a official acknowledge procss from HTC. so S-off confirm no warranty.
