Sorry I was still a bit confused. So that means you can lock bootloader and send it back? (y)
let me do a summary,
-when you request unlock code from HTCDEV.com, HTC already have the record that you requested for unlock code.
-but this doesnt mean HTC know whether you use the unlock code or not.
-If u use the unlock code, the status will be "unlocked" in bootloader. even if you lock back the bootloader, the status become "relocked", so HTC will know you unlock bootloader once they see this status.
-if you use S-off method, you no need to reqeust unlock code from HTC, you can unlock, lock, change the status of relock to locked. HTC will not able to trace whether you unlock boot loader.
-in the HTCDEV.com, stated that "
It is our responsibility to caution you that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty",from this statement, unlocking bootloader doesnt voids warranty, if only the defect is deem to be cause by unloacking bootloader, then the warranty will not cover. example, let said a physical button spoilt and it had nothing to do with unlocking bootloader, the warranty still cover.
-from another forum, a user with rooted HTC one succesfully claim warranty for a defect LCD(dead line).
but how HTC determine whether a defect is cause by unlock bootloader, i dun know.
