Seiko don't need service one right? Never heard of people bring Seiko to service
*
Cheap seiko cost of servicing maybe enough to buy a new replacement.
GS and credor not uncommon to see ppl servicing them

Dear fellow forumers,

I have an Aviator mechanical watch, which recently got it's auto-winding weight tercabut (God knows how did that happen).

Now must do manual winding everytime.

Anyone can recommend me a shop in KL that can repair this?

Thanks.

watatime offer -15% for a Tag. Plan to survey other shops first. smile.gif

Thats pretty low im guessing since Tag boutiques are quoting 15% too. Went over today and was looking at getting their F1 series and the sales consultant had offered me 15% and she said could reduce a little more if im keened in getting it.

Guys, could i please get your advice about this model Tag Heuer Formula 1 CAU1115.BA. Retail price was about 6.8k. Are there any other brands that have a similar design with the same price range ? Thanks in advance guys. Im still learning a lot about watches haha sweat.gif

So watches won't escape from gst next year? Does that mean higher prices since currently they are not taxed?

A Longines Hydroconquest is a better watch than the Tag Heuer Formula 1 because its an automatic. If you want to spend so much money for a Swiss made watch, you want a mechanical movement inside to showcase Swiss manufacturing.

I don't think the Malaysian customs are on the look out for watches (or at least they aren't yet)... I usually carry about 4 in my hand luggage and 1 on wrist and haven't been stopped before. Maybe after GST is imposed they'll start looking harder for things to tax (hope not).

so I went to watchshoppe @ 1u over the weekend, best discount on a Tag is only 25%, unlike the 28% that some forumers here managed to get.

I haggled, and failed. sad.gif 25% only..

I just sent my old Sportura for service and replace some of the "wabi-ed" parts.

Seiko Taiwan wanted ~RM180 for a pvd'ed fixed bezel and if I were to opt for a case change... ~RM800

If I order NOS complete watch online from Singapore... it's just RM900+ laugh.gif

based on my info, if you are importing from Europe (by postage), you are exempted tax when the watch leaves Europe but will be charged back locally (if there's tax locally)

if you are wearing then most probably no... unless you super unlucky and get caught by the customs in the airport sweat.gif

F1s are pretty sporty watches... the expensive thing is the bracelet as its semi ceramic sweat.gif
for that price, i'd personally go for automatic... do check out WAP2011/WAP2010 and WAN2110... similar price but auto brows.gif
