QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Aug 21 2013, 09:26 PM) Neutral = Neither brake, neither accelerate. In a FWD car, do not accelerate, especially while cornering as it will shift the weight to the rear, reducing front grip therefore understeer. In a RWD car, feather the throttle to reduce engine braking, due to the driver being in low gear the RPM would be high, or else the rear will lose traction. If you neutral on downhill road your car just keep accelerate because the transmission not connect to wheel so the wheel no resistance.

QUOTE(darosha @ Aug 21 2013, 09:27 PM) cant compare sabahan people all drive slow slow one yup IMHO.. safety first... haha.. not sure with wearing seatbelt, coz im totally confused about that early arguments about seatbelt / safetybelt.. (unsure if it is really safety) after hearing the deaths, maybe all of them did wear seatbelt, maybe not.. but is it still consider safe if vehicles rolled over.. those not wearing, sorry to say lah.

This bus needs to run on highways, so i don't think passengers are allowed to stand for obvious safety reasons (traveling over 90km/h). Not sure if such city buses are allowed to travel on highways also. You see KL-Klang buses, got use these City Buses? QUOTE(Kampung2005 @ Aug 21 2013, 09:07 PM) As far as I know, this thing is not illegal as there is no legal requirement on this matter. Plus the bus actually has hand grabs for standing passengers too. That said, time to look at such aspects such as bus, driver or even having taller wall on the edges of the road.

QUOTE(bereev @ Aug 21 2013, 09:24 PM) to control a long and heavy bus is far different than a car, when the heavy and long body skid it was a fatal and can't be correct back at down hill slope what ever method u use gear or break is useless, if that bus are realy a normal bus like rapid kl then i bet it was auto tranny and auto bus down hill driver has less gear to down shift. exactly, it is even worst if the brakes are losing its braking performance = good luck stopping a bus that is over capacity. QUOTE(msa9696 @ Aug 21 2013, 09:26 PM) If any of you ever drove during foggy days, you should know. Even going extremely slow, when you can't see anything, you also worried where you are heading. put up some high walls with some recycle tyre to cushion it. Anything to prevent the vehicle falling off the cliff is already a huge boost on survival chances. Besides it is also easier/faster for fireman and ambulance personal to rescue people on the road than the ones falling off the 200m cliff. Faster rescue = more survival chances.

At least Genting roads are so much wider now and you have more safety buffer should anything goes wrong. I think not just downhill that crashes, sometimes uphill also can crash. If you follow the advisory speed limit, practice proper downhill techniques, have your car checked and ensure it is in tip-top condition, there shouldn't be any issue. I believe those trunk roads with single lanes are worse. This post has been edited by geekster129: Aug 21 2013, 09:41 PM
