I thought Genting downhill section have runoff areas for you to crash into instead of rolling down mountain.

honestly trying to improve the driver attitude is much harder than just fixing the road. I no pro is wall, but 3-4 feet high should stop the bus falling off the cliff. nowadays genting one is like 1 feet only  I think bicycle also can ram over.

As far as I know, this thing is not illegal as there is no legal requirement on this matter. Plus the bus actually has hand grabs for standing passengers too.

That said, time to look at such aspects such as bus, driver or even having taller wall on the edges of the road.

i didn't know there's an emergency escape ram. it really dangerous for heavy vehicles due to tremendous braking. i experience lost of brake before but its temporary. brake is usually the main problem .

my brake overheat ady when i was downhill, before reaching the post before the roundabout at goh tong.
when i realized it, i have to downshift to gear 2, to gear 1 just to get the stall, and shift it back to gear 2, keep pressing the brakes, eventhough the grip is not totally lost, it keeps going, after the sharp S corner reaching the guard post, i pull the handbrake, wait till the bump slows us down, and i managed to stop on the left side road. wait till half an hour, test for few metres, and drive slowly. really sked during that time.

since then, i always go for mid-end, not cheap, nor inexpensive brake pad. keep my disc skimmed if bengkok.

So far I always use 2nd gear, 3rd gear at most....just go slow and steady nvm.....engine are made of steel and metal after all, won't ko so easily one.

if ur brakes are still drum brakes...better be extra careful...

go easy with the brakes, press brake and release..wait 2 or 3 seconds to allow the pads to cool down and press brake and release, don't hold on brakes for more than 30 seconds..
these are skills you learned after driving downhills for so many years, not something you get to learn in any of Malaysian driving school 

All automatic transmissions have low gears, L 2 3...

I wanna ask yr opinion... if Penang can have a train or tram to the Penang Hill, is it possible the Malaysia Govt build a special train up to Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands?
