this 1 look like the rapid kl type of bus which is meant for city traveling only. it's considered a "light bus" not like those express bus used for interstate journeys

53 ppl i assume some of them are standing. not really the position u wanna be when an accident happen.... what's more a dive down a deep ravine.

As far as I know, this thing is not illegal as there is no legal requirement on this matter. Plus the bus actually has hand grabs for standing passengers too.

That said, time to look at such aspects such as bus, driver or even having taller wall on the edges of the road.
*
IINM there's a limit for this kind of bus, how many should sit and how many should stand

correct ?

the genting transport bus sticker shows 43 penumpang, 18 berdiri.

43 in term of sitting passengers or total passengers? (25 sit + 18 stand = 43)

If any of you ever drove during foggy days, you should know. Even going extremely slow, when you can't see anything, you also worried where you are heading.

driving downhill or even uphill to genting during a foggy day at night is the scariest thing ever

yup IMHO.. safety first...

haha.. not sure with wearing seatbelt, coz im totally confused about that early arguments about seatbelt / safetybelt.. (unsure if it is really safety) after hearing the deaths, maybe all of them did wear seatbelt, maybe not.. but is it still consider safe if vehicles rolled over..

those not wearing, sorry to say lah.
*
don't think wearing seatbelts would help in this case.... the bus roll down the ravine. u are strapped to your seat waiting for all kinds of debris to hit you

the freaking road design was flawed.
who will design a 90° sharp turn with on the edge of 200ft slope ?

these kind of road can only get approval in Malaysia
*
i don't think the road itself is dangerous in nature, with careful driving and a good vehicle condition, you can make it through

there's more dangerous roads out there

anyway what happen to that proposal few years back to equip all buses with black boxes ?

black boxes might be too much. make it a mandatory rule that every bus should install dash cams or surveillance camera. like the incident that happened in china

the bus is quite long. can stuff in till 43 sits.
*
meaning to say, according to the bus spec, 43 sit and 18 stand = 61 passengers

gonna be one hell of a ride (pun intended). its fine on a flat road journey like in KL, most u suffer ketiak smell only. but on a downhill journey ? NOPE

maybe the lorry was not stationary. the lorry was slowing down (which is normal for a road like that), but the bus had lost it brakes and lost control, and the driver tried to avoid banging in to the lorry.

Question!

Why public transport / lori / ktm / mrt / lrt no need to wear seat belt? This might save them from impact if accident.
*
got seat belts also no use. enforcement problem

ask yourself if every bus provided with seat belts, how many will wear them ?
