Thanks for your feedback budgee. I normally exit Subang to Federal Highway, then exit at Nanyang and head to Western Digital traffic light via Free Trade Zone, then go straight thru SS3 all the way to Taman Bahagia LRT and straight on to Taman Megah. There's a narrow bridge at SS19 and narrow roads near Taman Bahagia LRT. Will consider your offer to try your bike I find a lot of shops are not too generous to let me test their bikes. That's why it's hard for me to decide. Today no ride, just found out last night both tyres punctured. Maybe I'll go MBS later to fix and have a look..

My Link D8 now is Link D10 Changed the below, in case anyone ask: - Litepro Demon TT Bullhorn - Used Dura Ace 7800 Brake Shifter lever - SRAM PG1070 11-28T 10s sprocket - Microshift Arsis RD - Litepro RD hanger - Kore Seatpost - Vertu saddle - Wellgo QR pedal - Litepro stem Currently brake system is not as good due to pull ratio of brake level and V brake incompatibility. I can either used travel agent or change to 451 wheelset and calliper brake altogether. Looking at it, I might opt for latter. Sekian terima kasih

QUOTE(msknowit28 @ Nov 15 2013, 11:02 PM) With suspension if possible. Budget is around 2-3k, and as I know almost nothing about bike, I would need good and friendly after sale support for the bike. It seems people here like Dahon Speed P8, Tern Link D8, P9, KHS F20-T3, which do u think will suit me better? Or any others? Thanks in advance! Enjoy riding the weekend ahead! QUOTE(andythology @ Nov 16 2013, 01:23 PM) My Link D8 now is Link D10 Sekian terima kasih hmm those mentioned non of them is suspension if 3k can get a birdy d rite?no? nice pics n nice mods anyway anybody going this pipr thingy tomorow? hehe

QUOTE(msknowit28 @ Nov 15 2013, 11:02 PM) Hi guys, Have been crawling the thread for few days. Very useful info here, but I've no idea about the technical details, getting very confused as to what to choose for an upgrade bike. ...... It seems people here like Dahon Speed P8, Tern Link D8, P9, KHS F20-T3, which do u think will suit me better? Or any others? Since I can't jog due to this spine problem, I like riding cos a foldie can keep my back straight when riding. I joined GW on their rides twice, but I was so slow that I pitied the escort guy they sent to ride behind me. Hopefully with a new bike, I dare to join them again Do you hv to go with folding bike? You can actually open up your option to include full size bike. A full size bike does not necessary need suspension as it wheel is big enough to absorb the bumps, etc. Also you did not really touched on the need/use of 'folding' features. with your stated bgt, you can easily get an efficient, fast, light full size bike ( eg. Fuji). cheers

Thank you all for your feedback. A peculiar afternoon today. With punctured bike and intention to see and test some bikes, I went to MBS but it was close. Tried calling kimbell jaya, sew long, gw, all calls unanswered. Proride hung up halfway when I asked bout fixing punctures. Then my friend with me saw this thread mentioned KHS 50% disc, we called, discounted units have been sapu. We went anyway to have a look, tested some and decided on a 16" Ori M10 in the end. Changed to SR Royal Gel saddle. Impulsive buy? Perhaps, but I like how it can be folded into smaller size, maybe one day I can bring it abroad. Why not full size bike? I don't actually have lotsa experience with bike (don't even know how to change tube) and foldie provides an option to chuck the bike into boot if I am tired or I can't solve the problem. Smaller to store at home too. It's standing in a corner in the living room now Oh yeah I forgot to add, I have to ride in upright position, so as not to increase pressure on the spine, that eliminates a lot of other options This post has been edited by msknowit28: Nov 18 2013, 02:26 PM

QUOTE(msknowit28 @ Nov 16 2013, 10:27 PM) Impulsive buy? Perhaps, but I like how it can be folded into smaller size, to achieve a softer ride... u can use a bigger tyre, lower the pressure + soft saddle + padded short...

Getting Started

|
Have you ever had seat post that keep sliding down? I had one and after looking at it, I found out that it happens because of the powdery substance that is produced when we keep pulling in and out of the seat tube. Put your fingers inside the tube and feel it. If the seat post is black, it's even worse as the paint is grinded into powder due to the friction when you pull in or push in the seat post. This powder makes it slippery. It can be washed clean and wipe with alcohol though. Even worse still is the seat post shim that's rusted. Although aluminium, they can get badly stained and rust too! I also cannot understand is why our bike shops here don't really stock this shims! I took out the shims and changed it. The seat tube is sanded and cleaned before the new shims are inserted. An upgraded MU P8. Not bad isn't it? Can't understand why there's another unit still available in Kimbell Jaya but no takers! Selling it cheap too.
