Just take out the clamp combo and then mount it the same way as the usual seat using the twin rails. It's the same! icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi guys,

Have been crawling the thread for few days. Very useful info here, but I've no idea about the technical details, getting very confused as to what to choose for an upgrade bike.

I'm a lady rider currently riding a 6-speed basic Japan folding bike bought when I was travelling there, riding mainly on Saturdays from USJ to PJ Tmn Megah office, about 13 km. As I have a spine problem, this bike is with rear suspension, but its weight is around 15-18kg. Very heavy man! My speed is very slow, avg 14km/h, so I usually cycle alone.

I'd like to find a bike that's better ie. improved efficiency and speed. Very paiseh when a queue of cars are behind me on a narrow road. With suspension if possible. Budget is around 2-3k, and as I know almost nothing about bike, I would need good and friendly after sale support for the bike.

It seems people here like Dahon Speed P8, Tern Link D8, P9, KHS F20-T3, which do u think will suit me better? Or any others? Since I can't jog due to this spine problem, I like riding cos a foldie can keep my back straight when riding. I joined GW on their rides twice, but I was so slow that I pitied the escort guy they sent to ride behind me. Hopefully with a new bike, I dare to join them again smile.gif

Thanks in advance! Enjoy riding the weekend ahead!

Well the distance you cycle is quite far, from USJ to Taman Megah. Which road do you use? Do you use the LDP, which is rather narrow and traffic is fast moving?

I think the best way would be to try out a few type of bikes before making a choice. At the shops, you can ask whether you can do any test ride before deciding to buy. Then you will be able to narrow down your options that will be able to meet your budget.

One main thing to note is that the bike itself can be adjusted for different riding positions, but only up to a certain extent. So if you were to try it, you will need to see if it can be adjusted to fit your posture as comfortable as possible.

Another good idea would be to try out other people's bikes as much as possible and start making notes about each type of bike.

You are most welcome to try my bike, a 16 inch wheeler XDS for starters. It allows upright sitting posture.
Its light enough to be quite speedy, the gears allow you to climb hills. And it cost me below rm800.
