True, normal 99 speedmart has app 2000sf (corner)
While according to SA, total floor area for SW Mall is 170,000sf, or 28,000sf / floor (total 6 floors)
*
SW Mall total area is sightly bigger than 300,000sf
Red Tick area should be bigger than 11,000sf if only 1st floor

Worst place to stay. Main two issue is, there is no fiber internet in this expensive place. I heard maxis is the only isp but they dont provide cable. Broadband is just way too slow for video streaming or gaming. Well if that's not all, the noise is killing. If you have a family with kids, dont ever consider this place. Its loud and noisy from just 1 pub downstairs. Sector 7. Always playing those "feng tao" music after 12am and extend to 3am. While the DJ shouting with rattling mic. Other pub operators are ok with mild music and quiet down after 12am. But these guys will just blast off to the max. Especially weekends. I'm moving out as soon as my contract is over. Terrible place, i wont even stay there free cause of the noise pollution. No way you can have a good rest.

Thanks for sharing. It's really unbelievable the management n relevant authority of state allowed such thing happened after 12am midnite....the pubs must have very strong backstage! Affected residents would have to resort to high quality double layer vacuum sound proof glasses for all the windows there.

School and Prasarana reach consensus over LEP project

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 20 — The LRT Alignment Extension Project (LEP) in Puchong which has been delayed since Octpber 2011, finally got the green light to continue soon after the school, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Castlefield, and Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) reached a consensus.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, who chaired a roundtable meeting between the school and Prasarana for an hour in his office today, said the two parties agreed to respect common interests.

“The school agreed to move to a new site about 800 metres from its present location in Taman Wawasan, Pusat Bandar Puchong, with the construction cost of RM20 million to be fully borne by Prasarana.

“In honour of today’s decision, a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the two parties within a day or two. Subsequently, Prasarana can start the construction work,” he said at a press conference, here, today.

Prasarana chairman Tan Sri Ismail Adam expressed satisfaction with the agreement of the school and parents as the infrastructure development would benefit the people.

Dr Subramaniam, who is also MIC deputy president, expects the new school, equipped with the latest facilities, to be completed in 24 months or before 2017.

Before this, the project was suspended after the school board insisted that it would only allow contractors to enter the school if the school was moved to an area of 2.4 hectares at Lot 433 in Taman Wawasan, Puchong.

The proposed seven-kilometre extension of the Ampang Line, which extends from the Sri Petaling LRT station to the Putra Heights LRT station, involves alignment through the fringes of SJKT Castlefield. — Bernama

I think the noise issue can be settled eventually..

The internet issue however seems to be a serious problem, we wonder when optic fibre will be brought into SW, it is already directly affecting SW leasing price and value.

If the management intend to increase the maintenance fee in future but these problems still last, I think most of the owners won't buy it..

That's our concerns, SPS hasn't been fulfilling facilities they have promised on their brochure earlier... Owners should stay united to fight for their rights and do not tolerate the unfairness...

I'd prefer Jaya Grocer over Tesco or pretty much anything else, actually. The selection (at least for the things I usually buy) is of wider range, and the prices are also (surprise, surprise), cheaper! I am talking about foodstuff like distilled water, milk, juices, and Coke Light. smile.gif

Never really heard about RedTick before this honestly. Is this their first retail outlet?

I am occupying one of the Soho units here. smile.gif

Yes this is their first physical store. If they do it right like Hero, Jaya and Econsave nichmarket segment, then it would be good for SW. The fresh and green sections of Hero market is the main reason people are going there rather than Tesco, Giant or AeonBig.

The dining pod is own by a Dato. I think he bought it at 30M from SP.
*
this is the problem
sp setia sold all and hands-off! (no more stake in sw?not like one city and other developer where they still have stake hence interest to do better?)
now the purchaser can do what they want.
is the dato into entertainment business?
if it is called a dining pot then sp setia should actually exercise control to maintain it as dining pot
the middle part can have a very successful dining concept but now it is run by an inconsiderate operator. a rogue operator.
this is killing sw
no way out
normally this sort of entertainment outlet won't last but the problem is they keep rebranding
we only hope this place can be taken over eventually by a dining operator
else a B52 bomber can fly over and end it once and for all

true worst place to stay
no peace
UFO ET, are you staying in sw? no use. > 15th floors is even louder
the surprising part is that once you go to the lobby you cannot hear the noise
if you read some research online, the noise gets louder the higher the floor.
those staying facing the forest may have reduced noise but still when you open your main door or walk along the corridor it just a plain nuisance with noise all over the place
sp setia has made the biggest mistake in not exercising its control over sw
if they want it this way they should not build residence blocks
just build office and commercial

yes the dj is shouting like the end of the world
if you look at v-park, they close at 1am
but not beer factory and sector 7
they are the rogue operator
their mind is nothing but money
the louder the music the more pariah people drink

at 11pm something you would have thought it is all over. the nightmare starts from 12midnight or just before where they start to play dance music
if you are not staying in sw. you will never know how bad it is
this is an invasion of privacy
even if you watch tv, you can still hear background noise

givenz you are lucky because you are only renting the place and can move any time

maybe all sw stakeholders can protest on the street to remove rogue pub operator
inivite tv3 to come
invite MPSJ to come and witness
then we stop the traffic there
otherwise no other method
if we wait for the lawsuit to run, it is gonna take some time
is there a deadline? even if they loose the lawsuit it will still not solve the noise problem as the lawsuit is not about noise
it may dent their finance but they can still operate loudly
the noise will only be resolved if there is no patron to their place
play loud loud but no crowds not a singe patron then eventually they will know what to do..

so the lrt case only resolved after big shot minister got involved? before it was delay and delay and the school trying to force contractors out of their zone. the minister is indian right and so maybe easier to talk to the indian school

I don't have any complaints from my tenant, since my unit is facing the housing estate. What the properties owner need to do is replace the window glass with double layers & sound proof to avoid sound pollution. Living in big & congested cities, you often faced noise pollution. You can't have the best of everything. If you complaint about noises, you can opt to stay in a bungalow or landed property near the Hutan Simpanan in Bandar Kinrara, which you need to fork out above RM1.5million. The choice is yours....
