anyone know how to force unifi hypptv to display 1080p? im using it connected to yamaha avr (rxv477) and i notice it will play in 1080p short while and after that revert to 480p connection via hdmi. cable swap this that most of basic troubleshoot all done but image still revert back.
*
im using streamyx 8mb hypptv and i have the same issue with u too. i connect it to my onkyo avr

QUOTE(audiocool @ Jan 13 2015, 10:37 AM)
I had exactly same issue with you as I'm using RX-V475. The only way to rid of the picture downsize to 480p, you have to bypass your AV Receiver. Connect your HDMI cable from ur STB direct to TV HDMI.

i will try connect direct to tv and see what happen. thanks

Could it be Hypp TV STB too paranoid and downgrade the display to 480p for devices that doesn't pass or recognised by its HDCP?

yea i believe this is the correct answer.. well anyhow just bypass the a/v receiver direct connect to tv through normal hdmi you will get 1080p no issue. then if you have arc (connected thru your receiver),you can push back the audio to receiver, i guess that the only workaround.. since its also the same issue on the onkyo receiver it is safe to say that hypptv STB is the main culprit.

yr upgrade case should be vip5->vip10, right? it shud be treated same as those original vip10 with mega.

so... rm10... i want! biggrin.gif

becos:

.. i hv little use for ruby as they are either sd, old stuff or wrong aspect ratio (shame)
.. my fav ones in hd incl travel and natgeo people in there
.. good to have some sports channels incl supersports 1+2 hd (i get only sd on android/kodi)

i will call them later to confirm, see if rm10 will do. anyone who has done it, pls yell! biggrin.gif

Currently I am Using Mega Pack RM 50.00 , I don't what the different If you calculate it Cost you extra 10.00

But from 4Mbps to 8Mbps if you take it cheaper Now paying RM 140.00 + 50.00 RM 190.00 Now They Offering 8Mbps With Jumbo Pack For Only RM 190 , if I upgrade I get 4Mbps Extra ....

What You Think guys

their new entry pack looks shitty...

Platinum Pack at RM30 you'll get a lot of channels...

but their new entry level packs Aneka and Varnam the numbers of channels offered very unattractive and still at RM30...

Aneka + Varnam also cant be as good as Platinum Pack..

Okay. research completed.

JUMBO TV pack is only applicable to 10MB and 20MB Unifi subscribers (old and new)

Internet only package:

5MB - RM149/Month
10MB - RM199/Month
20MB - RM249/Month

With JUMBO Pack: (does not include the Malay, Indian and Chinese channels) - its like English + Sports channels.

If you want Chinese channels - you can add the Ruby pack. If you want the Malay channels, add Aneka. If you want the Indian channels, add Varnam.

10MB - RM209/Month
20MB - RM259/Month

This move is very Astroish! It basically removes the option to have only the English entertainment channels! If you want the English entertainment package - you MUST also pay for the Sports Channel whether or not you like it or not!

Not cool TM cool.gif

I will keep my MEGA PACK. ASTRO Supersports can kiss my sexeh a$$ tongue.gif smile.gif

Internet only package:

5MB - RM149/Month
10MB - RM199/Month
20MB - RM249/Month

With JUMBO HypTV Pack:

10MB - RM209/Month
20MB - RM259/Month

The interesting part:

Many users have accepted the FREE Mega Pack (everything except Cinema World and Sport channels)) if you upgrade from 5MB at RM149 to 10MB at RM199. These people (me included) needs to just top up another RM10 to enjoy all channels available on HypTV.

The million dollar question is whether or not we are eligible for this upgrade. Looking at the calculation below, I bet the answer is YES.

RM10 doesn't sound much right? As of September of 2014 (four months ago), there were 700,000 Unifi subscribers. think about the possibilities. If they are able to get 1/2 of the 700K to upgrade, its additional RM3.5mil and a freaking RM42mil a year.

Sounds like a YES to me. smile.gif

GO TM GO!!!!

Its fun to be at Telekom Malaysia.  whistling.gif   whistling.gif

nice of you to do the reasearch.

many existing vip10 users w/mega are thinking the same - pay additional rm10 and go jumbo.

i just called them. answer is.... no provision for it yet! sad.gif

the officer at the phone said jumbo is very new, so it may be possible later. he agreed that is logical n makes sense but he can't do it now. he promised to check with superiors n get back to me.

the thing is unifi, astro, credit cards, banks fd's - they all behave the same - offer all goodies for new users but somehow don't care much about existing customers. which makes many people keep switching to max benefits, if it is easy enough.

for now, i wait for news. anyone get diff news, pls yell! biggrin.gif
