Was just reviewing my playing style and listing out items I should do and what I should remember to avoid; in preparation for tournament and serious games. Just thought I'll just post this for everyone's benefit:

Please bear in mind that this is just a rough list since it only covers areas I feel I tend to forget. Does not cover areas I am sufficiently proficient in.

Mental and general reminders:

Good technique practices for different situations:

Hope this helps. Remember, this is not a complete list. You'll have to work out the rest. Good luck. biggrin.gif

Ermm, those are good techniques that need to be employed for best effect?

Hip muscle injured? What do you mean? Do you mean the hip bone? Where does it hurt? And what did you do that caused it to hurt?

One thing I'm quite baffled is everytime a new player joins a football game, he/she is often given the keeper position. Kinda weird. For me the best position for starters will be defender.

I started out as defender first then promoted to keeper. People ask me I'm crazy or not go take up keeper job. Coz there was once my friend broke his teeth when playing GK. What to do, I'm stuck to that position, and loving every minute of it.

I'm not sure if this is a bargain, but I was in Penang yesterday and during a shopping trip, I managed to pick up a new pairs of Uhlsports for RM50 and Kappa's goalkeeper shorts with padding at the side for RM45.

The Uhlsport's surface looks to be more tougher, so I hope it'll last longer then those Nike/ Umbro using soft latex ones.

A good tips for goalie:-

Always be aware on the player that you are not concentrating when you are looking at the ball. They are the one who can make the difference.

Think ahead of the opponent. Look for any chances that he can do, and try to cover it.

Always pressure your opponent, in such as rushing out, punching the ball or etc but stay calm and concentrated.

Keep interaction with your back 4.

Last but not least, practise make perfect.

As for me, I'm one of the rare keeper who preferred to play with bare foot and without any glove. In field or in futsal, it doesn't makes matter for me as long I know that I can perform and do my job.

Aye, I've looked all over but never seem to find any, I think its probably due to the small market here as they only manufacture gloves (from what I think) while the other brands like Nike or Umbro supplies other stuff like boots thus making the shops more willing to depend on well known brand. But I heard about how great it was from few of you guys here, and couldn't resist it.

The price stated on the panel was RM109.90 with discount, so I was more than willing to pay for it but when he told me it was RM50, i almost died doh.gif

Some good advices there, I cannot stress enough communication with the back four, telling them to get back into position and reminding them about mistakes they are making. Also remember to compliment them often on good plays like good defending or clearance, it does boost their self belief and often do play better.

I used to do that too, but far too much injuries to my fingers and toes make me think again about doing. Probably bad techniques, but I feel more comfortable with protection on.

I never knew you play goalie also <.<

I got it from Penang, one of the corner shops near Jalan Burma and co., since I don't really know about the streets and got there more or less by mistake. The shop is owned by a couple of chinese old ladies who are friendly and give good discounts biggrin.gif

Here's the pictures as promised:
