Installer should give you all the Samsung PVR things like manual and remote. the samsung remote normally for us who have is usually for backup only, cause the installer dont take our pace remote de

is there any good link step by step guide to set 2 tv with one decoder. thanks

In HD or SD?
Do you have concealed coaxial cable or Cat5/5e/6 cable?
IF you want HD and have coaxial cable its impossible to do as it needs cat 5e cable
If you want HD then you will need Cat5/5e HDMI extender
If you want SD and you have coaxial cable it is possible by using AV to RF converter.

Hi,

just to share out experience

we upgraded from byond to iptv in midvalley centre

installation was ok, but our iptv was not

took astro 9 days to resolve and get picture on our tv, everyday call astro, astro say wait 24 hours because of spindown.

only on the 9th day, after reset astro decoder, then only get picture. got sms say activated before that but no picture.

customer service only say, already activated ma, then i say, no picture, then customer service say, we check wilth technical team, wait 24 hours.

took them 9 days to resolve, that is world class service,

astro only know how increase subscription, make more profit, but has a lot more to learn on customer service

i was enticed by astro last friday to switch to iptv+maxis. i told the lady to wait until tomorrow so that i can confirm that my unifi is already out of contract. i was quoted rm108+rm148+rm20 for astro+maxis 10mbps and phone. luckily i read thru all comments abt iptv and maxis fiber for the past 2 days. would better stick with my unifi at the moment rclxms.gif

HDMI, Composite and Component all output the same thing. The different thing is the quality. For HDMI it can output 576i, 576p, 720p and 1080i. For composite and composite it only outputs 576i.
THat means during promotion your HDMI port is activated if I'm not wrong. So you just plug your HDMI cable in there and watch with the HDMI source on your TV.
Once the promotion ends you just watch the composite/component source don't have to unplug your HDMI cable, so when there's free preview, you can just watch straight la! rclxm9.gif
If you subscribe to HD services you can use your HDMI port liao, of course, unplug the composite cable from your TV and decoder and enjoy watching in HD(Not really lol)!
UPDATE: I didn't saw your HDMI port not activated sorry. Maybe it's not activated for promotion period. As for the LG TV has Optical Digital Audio, that's output to your Amp/ home theater. Not for your decoder to connect. Same theory applies where the coaxial cable connects to your Amp/ home theater sweat.gif
Hope this clear all your doubts  smile.gif

yo bro thanks for the reply...

ok now im not using HDMI cable.. just composite and able to see HD channels for this promotion period, and i saw its 576i... but even that looks cool.... after promotion period ends if activate HD service i dont think need HDMI cable... just the quality like u saying.. so now in this promotion period if i remove my composite cable and just plug HDMI cable... do you think i able to see the display ?

what cable should i remove on the composite since.. got AUDIO and VIDEO... isnt that sound and video able to travel on single HDMI cable ?

LOl I was just joking la. U need HDMI cable. just that quality not that good compared to other sources. And yes you are right you just need a single HDMI cable to your TV as its transfer video and sound in the same cable.

I plan to get a 2nd decoder (multiroom) for my house. Main decoder is at my parent's house. smile.gif

During the renovation, my living hall is equipped with astro cable. If I would like to put another decoder at upstair family hall with the same TV channel in case my living hall being conquer, do I need another Astro cable?

Another inquiry, all my wire concealed. Is all the decoder the same? Because I read somewhere that got 2 tuner which need 2 wire something like that.

You need to pull RG6 cable to your upstair family hall. Or use a wireless transmitter/receiver.

If I were use wireless transmitter/receiver .. will the quality drop? or lag?

I just worried my contractor going to screwed me up if I were to ask for another wiring now.

No it will not cancel.
Even when you half way record, you still can start playing the recorded portion.

Another thing I have noticed, is if the PVR is recording a TV program in a HD channel, I cannot tune into any SD channels at all. I will get the 'no signal' error message when I tried to do so. Switching channels to other HD channels works. Is this normal?

You will not get HD picture. Unless you are willing to folk out RM2K for that. Wireless connection it will lag a bit when you press the remote control.
Why should your contractor making noise? You pay him wat, right?

My Beyond PVR allow me to tune into any channel when i am recording 1 channel.
But if i record 2 channels at the same time, i can only watch these 2 channels. Not allow to switch to any other channels.

I would not get HP picture at upstair. How abt the main decoder? can I watch HD?

So if I were use RG6 cable, means 2 decoder also can watch HD?

Well, I only record one channel that time. Cannot switch to SD channel at all when that happens.
