OUT OF ALL HD CHANNELS ON MEASAT, ASTRO ONLY HAS:
1. AXN HD
2. DISCOVERY HD WORLD
3. NAT GEO HD
4. STAR WORLD HD
5. KIX HD
6. HISTORY HD
7. ONE HD
8. SUNDANCE HD
9. SKY NEWS HD

ASTRO & MEASAT ARE SISTER COMPANIES BUT THEY'RE NOT BRINGING THE CHANNELS ON MEASAT PLATFORM TO ASTRO. ANY LOGICAL EXPLANATION FOR THAT?

*
1. They want to force local programming down people's throat
and
2. Save money so CEO can give himself huge bonus afford more Porsches and Ferarris (they do have to pay money or give those network discounts if they want to carry the channel, and that eats into the CEO's twenty-cars-a-year plan)?
and
3. remember that the signal on assteruk isn't live from the feeds- the feed is received, censored by MCMC staff stationed at Assteruk's offices, recompressed and then retransmitted. Those MCMC staff and censoring/retransmission equipment also costs money, and also doubles bandwidth requirement since the signal on MEASAT is received, and then retransmitted back to MEASAT for assteruk decoders. Assteruk decoders do not pick up the feed signal direct from source (in effect the "Direct 2 U" pitch is all pure BS).

No you don't have to. It will still recording in stanby mode. Notice there will be a red light on your decoder if it's recording

Your contract will be renewed to another 2 years if you jump to the iptv platform...
Same case goes to byond hd then jump to byond pvr. Contract will be renewed even though your contract has ended.

Hi there, I am new to astro, planning to apply for astro, but I don't have tv at home (rented house).

I just got my unifi set up last month so iptv is not an option, I was thinking of taking astro on the go, but the channel I wanted is not available, called the astro personnel and he told I can only take normal astro package.

Too bad they only offer astro iptv with maxis broadband. So the only solution is connect my laptop to the astro decoder. Anyone knows what is needed and how is it done?
Which astro package is good enough if I wanna take Hd channel and animax and fox movies etc? Mostly Chinese and English Channel.

Thanks

I know right! Cannot blame people nowadays too. I'm 15 and the History I study at school doesn't mention anything about movies or arts

In order to connect Astro to your laptop you need
Hauppauge 1512 HD-PVR 2 High Definition Personal Video Recorder with Digital Audio (SPDIF) and IR Blaster Technology
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

In order to make the HDMI signal "readable" by your Hauppage PVR you need a HDCP Stripper
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

In order to purchase this equipment from US and Amazon you need to contact ConstantLove in LYF
Hope this helps!

anyone here can tell me the vlan tagging settings for IPTV? I am ditching the thompson router for a TPLink 1043D. Already figured out the vlan tagging for internet but cant find the IPTV VLan Tag anywhere.

I thought I can do a backup of the config in Thompson TG784n but no luck. Maxis has disabled the function in their version of Thompson firmware.
