That's irony, considering HyppTV bring Channel [V] back here, with added +5 minute "delays" whistling.gif

If Assteruk isn't renewing MTV tho, TM will be happy to take it given they already have the sister channel MTV Live.

yes boss
lol. I thought they have MTV Live HD?
*
Correct, they have MTV Live HD. I was referring to Nat Geo Adventure which is soon to be renamed to Nat Geo People. TM has that channel.

Thing is, TM is apparently very happy to fish channels out of Assteruk's dustbin. Channel [V] (both International and Taiwan feed) is now on TM. TVB8 is now on TM. BBC Entertainment (YAY!) is now on TM. So I won't be surprised if FFM and MTV also end up on TM if Assteruk throws them away. Especially FFM, since TM could use a good movie channel right now (and TM already has other Fox and Viacom channels).

Those are lucky enough to subscribe it. For me, might as well pirate the stream from somewhere else.
*
But if you using Screamyx 4MBPS can subscribe already.... Just that HD is downsampled to EDTV (SD+Widescreen) and thus is blurry compared to true UniFi. Because TM dun want to upgrade their ADSL to 2+ which can easily handle 24Mbps, scared that it interfere with UniFi sales.

Well well, ABN isn't that good either.

+1. Stupid roll out speed. I'm in Klang. Just 30KM from Puchong. In their two years of operation they have barely covered even 1/20th of the Klang Valley.

I wish TM will offer HyppTV On The Go to at least lower speed subscribers tho. Extra three dollars even to UniFi and 4MB++ Screamyx holders, but can watch on any wimax and broadband connection in Malaysia. I use HyppTV OTG for iPad with YES and Digi from time to time and the SD channel picture quality is good.

RTL CBS HD is already on HyppTV, so it's worth asking HyppTV if they'll bring in Extreme as well.

+1. Force everyone to use Hybrid mode (give everyone free Maxis 3G USB dongle and special Maxis SIM to plug into decoder if needed- since 3G is capable of 7.2Mbps- just enough for HD and Assteruk sister company is Maxis) and remove the damn Assteruk First, Assteruk Best and AOD channels. Immediately get back bandwidth for 20+ new channels. Plus, other providers not shy to lease bandwidth from other satellite. Assteruk... Too stuck up because sister company also MEASAT shakehead.gif

I never said UniFi. Besides, people always boast Maxis has good mobile broadband infea. Assteruk can prove it if they make their VOD piggyback on Maxis.

Not exactly ..........WC will see compressed channels for sure!  cry.gif The launch will be end of May and full use will take months. One more thing the main purpose of them is always NOT local interests their main interest is leasing transponders to other countries! Locals get the left overs,we are still on MPEG2 and  the still yet to go digital and we hv only one single satellite provider controlling the nation. mad.gif
*
+1, but minor correction in italic.

There are other providers in IPTV. But they all invariably have their own problems mostly caused by Assteruk's channel monopoly rights vmad.gif

But the real problem is this: all the other providers failing to take off is because assteruk can make MCMC deny them rights to take channels that assteruk already has and doesn't want them to have because of assteruk's own selfish means.

Bro,just a query,Mediacorp has gone digital,nw I can get singapore channels using normal aerials. Many in johor hv started using Digital Boxes and are getting HD. But my question is once analog signal is shut down will this digital signal reach Johor and other areas which now get analog signals, any idea?? People hv offered me those boxes but I am reluctant to commit.  tongue.gif   Thanks

@RAMChYLD  perhaps you too can shed some light here bro! thanks. hmm.gif
*
At the moment from what I gather the MediaCorp digital signal is spilling into Johor and can be received with any DVB-T2 receiver (last time stay at a hotel in Batu Pahat and they have a DVB-T1 receiver to bring in crystal clear SG channels). So yes, if analog shutdown you can still get Singapore via digital, and in fact it would be better since the signal would be at least assteruk quality and not grainy. In many cases quality will even surpass "assteruk quality".

The only worry is that there are talks that Singapore is proposing CI card (smart card like assteruk, but for normal TV use. Which means digital TV signal will be encrypted) and Malaysia also thinking the same from what I read. If it gets implemented then it's going to be a nightmare since DVB-T2 TVs sold in the countries will have card reader like Japanese TV (from what I read, Japanese ISDB-T TVs require a "license card" to be inserted to be able to use. DVB consortium borrowed the idea because countries like Singapore and UK enforcing TV license and the system will make it possible to lock out those who don't pay) and may mean that Malaysian gomen may reinstate TV license (since deactivated CI card or no CI card equals no TV). Possibly they may leave one or two channels clear and make other more desirable channels encrypted.

ASTRO & MEASAT ARE SISTER COMPANIES BUT THEY'RE NOT BRINGING THE CHANNELS ON MEASAT PLATFORM TO ASTRO. ANY LOGICAL EXPLANATION FOR THAT?
*
1. They want to force local programming down people's throat
and
2. Save money so CEO can give himself huge bonus afford more Porsches and Ferarris (they do have to pay money or give those network discounts if they want to carry the channel, and that eats into the CEO's twenty-cars-a-year plan)?
and
3. remember that the signal on assteruk isn't live from the feeds- the feed is received, censored by MCMC staff stationed at Assteruk's offices, recompressed and then retransmitted. Those MCMC staff and censoring/retransmission equipment also costs money, and also doubles bandwidth requirement since the signal on MEASAT is received, and then retransmitted back to MEASAT for assteruk decoders. Assteruk decoders do not pick up the feed signal direct from source (in effect the "Direct 2 U" pitch is all pure BS).

Register via their hotline better. The flyers one.... I don't think its very reliable.
Online? expect to wait for more than 1 month

HD-ready is actually good enough for Astro as most HD channels' source are 720P

Inb4 you /ktard
Inb4 me /ktard too
*
HD-ready is good enough. Assteruk b-yond output is only 1080i max.

I agree withe the other posters. Go by hotline or website. Flyers not really trustworthy. Just make sure you are ready to commit for two years no matter which way you choose to register.

Actually rain issue is avoidable if you go for assteruk IPTV either with Maxis or Time. But then IPTV is not available everywhere and costs extra $$$ because of bundled broadband and telephone services.

Checked out his Facebook profile. Orang indon >.>

Those Indons should just mind their own business.

Don't get me wrong, I don't care about WC. The thing that annoys me is that assteruk is using it's monopoly powers to hurt other providers. And this idiot is helping them.

Something like that is impossible in Bolehland, due to Astro monopoly and lacks of "cross-carriage" between Astro, HyppTV & ABN. whistling.gif
*
Well, there is cross-carriage, but only some channels. For example, Australia Network. Also, iirc both ABN and HyppTV has BabyFirst, Nick Jr and Discovery Kids. And from what I understand both DETV and HyppTV has BBC channels. But assteruk has an unfair advantage that they can tell MCMC to block other providers from carrying channels they already have.

PS: MNC international is on HyppTV.

But, hypp tv is to "stingy" to invest and want to "tumpang" RTM feed.
*
From the sound of it assteruk made some very unreasonable demands to TM.

Plus Assteruk isn't all an angel anyway. They drop BBCE just as I was getting into Doctor Who. Beg them to bring back the channel and they snobbishly claim no one watches BBC Entertainment. Who wants to watch ITV Granada? According to The Register only senile old people watch ITV Granada. Took 3 years before TM brought it back. Furthermore assteruk customer support very arrogant. And lastly dare to want to take me to court for false charges, over their stupid and already worthless smart card (say I never return it when I cancel sub, even though I did).

Fyi only. Nick and Disney HD feeds now available in Asia. Noticed mio TV just replaced them. The Disney feed should be the same for MAL since The Times also indicated MAL. Not sure abt Nick though..... But I believe it's a regional SEA feed. Fyi only.
*
In Singapore and Hong Kong Nick and Disney available on both Mio and Starhub. Only in Malaysia that Assteruk can monopolize Disney and Nick. Unless the assteruk monopoly can be broken, it's unlikely to see Disney and Nick on HyppTV and/or ABN. And thus assteruk can continue to force their SD Disney and Nick down Malaysians' throats with the cheap excuse of not enough bandwidth. It's a known fact that assteruk do not care about childrens channels at all.

On the other hand, ABN and HyppTV has Nick Jr. Just not the main Nick.

You know assteruk laa. Don't care about kids. Only care about the ones who can give them the most money: football nuts (who are usually white collar males in their prime, but foolish enough to fork out hundreds of dollars just to watch people kick a ball around) and Chinese drama fanatics (little old Chinese ladies with retirement money who're already half senile, if my lecturer's story is to be believed - about a bunch of old ladies gathering outside KLIA with rotten tomatoes and throwing them at a Hong Kong star that plays a villain in several shows who is visiting because their senility made them think that said star really is a bad woman). Kids where got money to give assteruk?
