Well to me asstro SD was blur all the way, when was it sharp and clear!

Astro SD is blur and not sharp. But I think when you see by yourself the SD picture quality of Indovision (pay tv from Indo), Truevision (pay tv from Thailand) and Skynet (pay tv from Myanmar), I think you'll take back your words... sweat.gif Their SD channels was totally way more blur than what Astro have. I've seen it by myself, right at my home. Although their SD channels was blur, but you have plenty of choice available, especially Indovision and well there are no 3-5 minutes censorship 'delay' at all. They take it straightly from the original feeds.

Something that I noticed on the new Samsung PVR STB.
Old Pace STB when I switch to digital sound, my primary tv using receiver will get Dolby sound while the secondary tv using AV cable will be silent (no sound). New samsung STB I can leaveit on digital and all connections still able to get sound. Awesome no more switching necessary smile.gif.

For VOD, at first I always got connection error even after setting the wifi network but what I miss was to set the default cnnection type from ethernet to wireless. Now everything is fine.

Could it be due to cable and the dish?

The AV output will only be set to output Analog signals no matter what. Meanwhile, HDMI port will only output PCM although you set it to DD5.1.
You can only get DD5.1 signals if you plug in optical cable or coaxial cable.

Bro are you sure,I thought HDMI brings both hmm.gif My situation once HDMI is used my coaxial is disabled, when I set my audio IN to HDMI on my AVR i get PCM/D.Digital when changed to audio in via coaxial there is disabled sound! I am not sure my cable problem,my box problem or is it that astro allows only one HDMI output and if you dont use HDMI audio is output via coaxial/optical sad.gif

So happy my Samsung PVR STB at last got updated to the latest V9 EPG! Yay! Is so smooth and responsive compared to the old version. Those who not yet get it I think you can spam the manual upgrade button combo!

*
downgrading any package (meaning u pay less than you current amount) will have an admin charge. around RM10 if not mistaken. upgrading is free.

did your amp work with hd channels before?if it did , i think the HDCP stripper broke .or u can play around the settings.
i do not recommend using option 4 because it will be messy like crap.
just call the person where you bought the avr from

Hi,
Just happened to find your posting here in lowyat when i google this 'HDCP copy protection failed.' My Astro connects to TV via a HDMI to a Yamaha Receiver. It has been working for more than a year, but suddenly I see this 'HDCP copy..................' on screen when I am in HD channels. So, what does it mean to you? Do you mean the 'HDCP stripper' in my Yamaha Receiver is broken? Advice is much appreciated...

I got my new firmware update after shorting the JTAG COM:2 with one of the processor pins. It just shorted out and rebooted. After that, the smart card cannot be read anymore. It just say invalid in system versions. I can access all the channels though.
