I am currently using prepaid UMI2O plan.
Is it advisable to 'upgrade' to the power package, or stick with UMi2O ?

QUOTE(bizness @ Sep 3 2015, 11:13 PM) Hi people, may I know how is Umobile coverage and reliability? best method is get a prepaid from 7 eleven @ Rm 8.5, inside got 5 creditPlanning to change from Maxis to Umobile. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks u may subscribe daily RM 2 data package and test for 2 days, then only decide to port ur current number and subscribe new nice with me (with discount oh) QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ Sep 4 2015, 12:02 AM) How does the RAN sharing with maxis actually work? Does maxis give priority to their own customers over u mobile in 3G RAN sharing area? actually u can't get MAXIS 3g within Umobile 3g Area like Klang Valley, Penang , Johor... u only can roam to Maxis 2g how about short code ( from bank, credit card etc) , can receive on time with u mobile or got delay? there is no such thing that, if u can't get Umobile 3g, u can have MAXIS 3g at the same place. (but u may have Maxis 2g Edge for whatsapp places that without Umobile 3g like somewhere melaka seremban .... then auto with Maxis 3g about the short code, would be exactly same as other networks, while u got 2 bars and above, no problem at all, while u got 1 bar or less, good to make a outgoing call or switch it into 2g network which is Maxis network to get more bars of signal, then u will realize the sms come quicker. (work for all telco) |

QUOTE(spoil_ @ Sep 7 2015, 06:33 AM) Tried to looking at website about credit sharing, did not found any. Someone previously posted a quite interesting idea. Keep topping up till you have high amount of credit, then when validity expire convert back to old prepaid plan and continue topping up, but now use that high amount of credit you have to buy UMI plans until credit runs out (so you'd reload RM30 and get 60 days validity, then you'd buy UMI 25 two times meaning spend RM50 over those 60 days, after a while you'd finish credit). Then convert back to power prepaid.I'm pretty sure, I will have excessive credit. Because I will topup for sake of free 1gb internet. How should i do? Of course, I think within a year or so they will remove the old prepaid plan totally, so need to pay attention. After that time no use keep credit di. |

QUOTE(nujikabane @ Sep 6 2015, 03:43 PM) then your free calls(20min) is enough to cover for that. Calls to fixed line not covered though. Considering that you use up all your data on 22nd, and if you were still to have high speed internet, you would need: 500 / 30 x 22 = 681mb What I would suggest would be this: 1. Convert to Power Prepaid Power Prepaid gives you 1gb of high speed data monthly (which is over the 681mb that is calculated based on your usage in average). So you can use the remaining 30 ringgit to make calls to fixed line and other networks. If you need more data, you can subscribe UMI20/UMI25/UMI30 to get extra data and calls to other network(not to fixed line though) Advantages: More data(extra 500mb compared to UMI20, at least) More credit to make calls can maintain the same payment monthly(reload RM30+6%GST) Disadvantages: Lower validity period per reload(x1 instead of x2, but if you use it as your primary phone you will need to maintain it every month anyway) |

Register by 31 Dec 2015 to enjoy FREE 1GB every month for life. * So when you convert back, I believe that it should be a controversial issue of whether you would still have the 1gb monthly for life or not since you have already changed plan(old prepaid -> power -> old prepaid again -> power again). It is okay depending on the circumstances if you plan to subscribe to UMI, but if you think of using the free 1gb only in future then you may have to think twice before doing the above This post has been edited by wcypierre: Sep 7 2015, 01:33 PM |

Umobile is a very good network provider.
Their customer service center is efficient and nice. Highly recommended. |
