do you made any bios update? or maybe you can check the sata setting in bios.. also you can try update to the latest chipset..
*
Nah, No BIOS update, and I'm using an ol'Z68 mobo, I doubt there'll be any chipset update for this dinosaur.

And again, I'll test the SSD on other PC, to see how it goes.

this is more like it biggrin.gif (actually it's like factory state. not bad for a 2-year-old drive imo) yeah for trouble shooting, we always have to check everything related. in your case, this includes sata port and the cables. it's not uncommon for them to fail.

maybe it's not about the sata port or cable. previously we didn't do a complete power recycling (i.e. pull the ssd off from its sata cable and system, leave it alone for some times, and then put it back in) i think the older crucial m4 needed this step also when you do secure erase or something like that on it.

1. Samsung 840 EVO 120GB
2. Crucial M550 128GB

IINM, there's a LiteOn SSD sold here, which costs around RM380 - It's essentially a rebadged Plextor M5P. icon_idea.gif

IMO, Plextor/LiteOn drives are pretty reliable, as they are frequently used in laptops. icon_idea.gif

yeah it's a better option, compared to normal portable pendrives, if you need like 256gb of space. (almost same price, but better speed)
