dunno go for intel 530 or samsung evo

putting aside 'fake' performance, samsung still produce some of the top ssd's in terms of reliability, endurance, and speed. these days many oem manufacturers are putting samsung drives in their products (consumer and enterprise alike). there is one thing weird about intel drives, but that's just my thought. if i can gather more proofs i will share with you guys.
i stopped using my samsung 840 evo too, and am getting ready to test if there is anything wrong about the old data on them later. it needs time to validate this part.
intel drives are decent. it has a relatively solid implementation of sandforce chips. (they should. they spent so much on r&d) i will say the same goes to samsung drives. these two brands have their own forte. i will always go for their higher-end ssd's. it's much harder to get disappointed.

yes it's not always about the speed.

Personally some firmware issues aside, both SSDs (Samsung 840 EVO and Intel 530) are pretty decent and should be plenty fast enough for most consumers.  The average consumer doesn't really need to worry about MLC and TLC flash memory, as both drives  would likely to outlast the average consumer computing cycle.

Though the Samsung drive does come with RAM caching, which should reduce the amount of writes on the drive.  However the Intel comes with a longer warranty period, which can be useful if you plan to resell the drive in the future since longer warranty period sometimes means better resale value.

Then get Samsung 850 PRO... 10 years warranty.  
However the warranty is only valid if you have written less than 150TB of data...

if it's about value for money, intel 530. between the two, get the one with longer warranty.

every electronic product has their lifespan. like what chocobo7779 pointed out, theoretically it's hard for you to wear off nand flash.

do you mind sharing with us why you dislike samsung stuff?

well. yeah. imo it's better to plan the next purchase for best bang for bucks.

btw,i noticed almost all ssd hav less write speed compare to read speed. higher write speed is hard to achieve rght? my intel 330 120gb only hav 130mb/s

this, ive read alot of people reco 840..but since the first problem found and then somebody found out the same problem happen again even after fix. i just decide to not getting the samsung ssd.

Hi, I would like to add SSD to my laptop.
I am looking into the 250GB range SSD with the price below RM400.
Hope to get a reliable and lower power consumption SSD.
Currently, MX100 and Transcend 370 are in my list.

May I know where do you get it below 400?? All I could find are around RM450.
