How about Sony?

Is Hybrid drive good? HDD + mSATA? i enjoy better loading speed and more space storage. Of course will lose to SSD.

Nothing from Sony at that price range unfortunately sad.gif

In terms of speed, SSD > Hybrid > HDD

then maybe you should try re-paste thermal paste. But that's moot now since it is holding to life by a thin thread  sweat.gif

Since you know the "default 100% view", then you must know how to change it easily right? smile.gif

Truth, kinda pointless d haha

Yes i do, but that will cause some sort of issue with some application (app layout will mess up) if you change to 125% or something.
I do like FHD, it's cool. It just so many pixels and stuffs became so small by default blush.gif

Hi all,

A couple of questions. Dell inspiron 15r has a few colour choices. I've seen one in singapore where the colour choice covers the back, and the part around the keyboard. But some pictures show that the colour only includes the back while the area around the keyboard remains silver.

And what's the difference between fujitsu lh532 and lh532 AP? What colour is available in malaysia and whats the price for one with i5, 2/4g RAM, preferbly with windows?

Thanks nexus!! i will copy this for her to consider first~
15'' is heavy for gal to carry. so i think 14'' is enough.
she just want more stable laptop. her bro just bought acer last few months, alot problems.
she totally no idea about laptop, so which 1 u think is more stable (seldom heard of problem)? lenovo is using broadcom wireless card......too weak right..

how about toshiba?

thanks~~
*
I get the sense you friend is afraid of problems hmm.gif
In that case, maybe she should really think about the Dell. They offer on site warranty (go to your friend house to fix problem) on next business day if and when she call in to Dell to report a problem.
Actually Broadcom has very good wireless cards in its product range, just that it also sell lots of cheap single channel card that lots of OEM stick inside cheap laptop laugh.gif

To ensure the wireless reception is ok, if she opt for Dell, just make sure you friend customise for Intel 2230 (don't take the Dell Wireless tongue.gif )

Toshiba is not very competitive at this price point hmm.gif Closest:
Satellite S40t-AS107, i3-3227U + Intel HD4000 + (1366x768; touch)@RM1999[Onkyo], 4GB, 500GB, W8SL; 2 years local warranty

I think these two will do perfectly in terms of overall bang for buck:
14"
Lenovo Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty; colors: chocolate

Toshiba Satellite L40-AS109Xb/G/W, i5-3337U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2199[Onkyo], 4GB, 750GB, 3 years local warranty; colors: Blue/gold/white

*Prices in RRP, negotiable
*For the Lenovo, use remaining budget to extend warranty to 3 years

Preferred Brand - Any except Acer, HP.
2. Budget - Max RM3000
3. Usage - Mainly gaming (Dota2, SD gundam online-3D fps, CS online)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: Any as along as good for gaming view.
5. Additional details: Initially aiming for good GPU laptop, Lenovo Y series, widely recommended by sifus since V19 (well, i did homework before ask tongue.gif). But later i found out my games are not really graphic demanding game, so i guess i better use the budget for normal lappy + upgrade for more smooth usage.

appreciate your recommendation & upgrade option.
** Can wait if there are models suits my need in next release (example: Haswell lappy)

Additional requirements:
1) Good heat dissipation
2) Wireless free problem (Using streamyx stock router@ground floor, lappy use at 1st floor room)
3) light weight (Usage 60%-desk, 40%- on leg/bed)
3) Stylish design (understand its subjective, but as long as looks good to you)
4) Able to play above games even if game requirement increased in next few years.

Thank you.
