QUOTE(KennyKB @ Apr 14 2015, 10:28 PM) So from reading this forum the common problems with the Cerato are: Nice to conclude some of the issues 1) May develop noises in the cabin from the dashboard, door panels or seats. 2) Ngek ngek sound from back on bumpy roads - can be solved by PJ Redcube SC 3) Some soft sound when turning the steering - Turn up the music and live with it. 4) Battery may die early - can claim if still within warranty, if not replace at own cost. 5) Gear changing may develop some odd behaviour when slowing down - affect some users but can be solved with ECU reset if it happens. 6) Suspension is on the soft side - not a problem for sedate drivers like me. 7) Weak radio reception - could this be due to tinting? Anybody solved and at which SC? 8) Seat moving - Is this a common problem? how can this be solved? No. 1 is a bit worrying as it seems to be a very common problem and finding odd sounds can be tough. If SC cannot find the source I'm prepared to spend some money for outside help to eliminate it. Just a matter of interest my 10 year old CBU Optima still give me a quiet cabin when driving. Very impressed with the quality. Any other common problems which I haven't mentioned above? Maybe one more thing tht i encounter is after i wash my wheels (i really give it a good spray, which basically wet all suspension and brake pad), when i drive it after washing, there's a large "clark, clark" sound on 1st brake press, it's like something was stuck or crushed. but after that, no more sound and brake works. Another last bit is i suspect that the brake pad wearing is quite fast as when i first got my car, the handbrake goes 4 clicks and it's max, now after 3months it's 6 clicks to be max. Not surprise of after 2months i need 8 clicks on hand brake. |

QUOTE(keagan @ Apr 16 2015, 04:20 PM) hi khan! thanks for the headsup. Really a tough choice... coz i really don't like the shape of the city on the outside...at all! interior only the high spec is okay for me...for kx even the most basic spec still looks nicer den the low spec city... gotta think really hard Well, hope you make a good choice. For 1.6, you do city drive really kills fuel esp on jams and traffic light. Key to FC is step smooth and try to maintain speed, brake less and if possible stop less. This car is quite heavy till if u drive a 1.6, u don't get any pickup power on starting from a stop, instead, u have to wait for the speed to increase to gain momentum. thanks for the info though~ Kx Vs city high spec, tough choice, but think for more future and you will make a good choice without regrets. Anyway i been seeing lots a Kx around city lately. Even my trip to jonker steet, saw 2 Kx |

Hi, guys. I took my car (Kx) for a speed and stability test earlier this week. From KLIA back to USJ. The car have totally no issues in speeding up to 120 once it gains the momentum. 120 - 140km/h will need a bit of a pedal press but also basically no issues and car is still stable enough (But can start to hear the noise get louder and driver feels the speeding).
Now for speed over 140km/h, where i took it from 140 - 160km/h, the 20km/h took me more than 2km to achieve it. Where on the straight road, hard press on the pedal and the car accelerated very quite slowly, hardly to reach 160 as it hangs at 150 quite long, noices are loud and drive (me) starts to feel uneasy and personal pressure rises on the speed of 160km/h. So i assume i go more than 160km/h will really need the nerves to handle the car over this speed as driver starts to feel the car sways, plus i think i'll need another 3km to take the car till 170. I am not sure this is the experience of the 1.6 Kx or it's different for 1.6 K3. (Think Kx without ESC might makes a difference on the car feedback on 160km/h above I am just sharing to see anyone took the 1.6 engine for a hard test and what's the performance and feel feedback from drivers. Hope drivers with experience can share on this matter. Does K3 & Kx might will have diff performance? |
